Pretty good parody of how much "detailed analysis" on CZcams these days is just spouting information that's completely unnecessary to a concise review as well as acting like there's some kind of science to reviewing movies and it isn't all just someone's opinion.
Apparently you haven't watched a mauler video then lol. 7 hour detailed analysis critically pulling apart movies..their is a science to everything if you understand it
I once listened to a video that was like two hours and somehow reincarnation and the lotus flower was talked about. I don't know why.

Long comment warning because this topic is interesting to me:
Yeah, I've heard MauLer try to explain how you can be objective about film, but he's wrong. Objectivity pretty much refers to whether something is true or false, so of course there is objectivity in a movie review. The movie is 2 hours long. True. It came out in 2017. True.
So the statement he would be trying to prove is: the film is good/bad. This is not a true or false statement, because that's entirely opinion. There are ways you could try to "prove" it, but they wouldn't make any sense, for example:
The film follows the basic screenwriting rules. True. Does that mean the movie is well written? We'd have to agree basic screenwriting rules are an objectively measurable standard that every movie has to follow in order to be good, but that simply isn't the case. EVERY rule or industry standard is based 100% itself on opinions. Opinions of well regarded people in the industry? Opinions that will get your movie/TV show aired? Sure, but does that make it "good?" No, because that part is always going to be opinion.
Even in college when I was working on TV shows we were graded on whether something met industry standards, not whether the projects were "good" or not. Sure, most audio should be hitting around -21db if you want your thing to get aired, but that doesn't mean it has "objectively good" audio. That just means it meets a certain standard.
I guess my biggest issue is that if we compare a movie to something more concrete like a car, the difference is clear. A car has a definable purpose and function, so we could argue it's "objectively good" if it gets someone from Point A to Point B with no mechanical issues, regardless of someone's subjective opinion on the car's design yada yada.
So the question you'd have to ask is: What is the definable function of a movie? To entertain? To inform? To teach a lesson? It's actually nothing, because it's art, and art has no definable purpose. That's why it's always going to be subjective.
And that's my "MauLer length" comment on the issue.
@@Gavin1204226 you can analyze every frame of a movie and list everything you think is wrong with it. But you still can't prove it's objectively good or bad.
If you got an 8 hour video saying a movie is bad but I say I really enjoyed it and think it's great, then what? Am I wrong for enjoying it or are you wrong for not enjoying it?
@@Gavin1204226 lmfaoooo this comment is killing me, imagine taking Mauler's shit seriously.
You bring up some really interesting yet controversial points. I do agree though that the Hux and Chewie intercourse scenes should've been kept in from the Rise of Skywalker Director's cut. I'll need to think on it
It really helps develop Chewbaccas character
1.5x speed is almost fast enough to watch this, but 2x is too fast... Why don't we have 1.75x speed? How could they keep this perfect speed option out of our grasp?! There's definitely something Grunberg about that.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who finds these types of videos to be tiring. Great parody!
This was close to perfect, the only thing missing was a circle around a character's elbow then an image indicating how it's somehow related to Darth Maul...
It's hilarious that he used the phrase "big brain" because there was a video criticizing him calling him a "big brain youtuber"
Remember when Star Wars Theory told critics who liked TLJ to "Go away" because Star Wars is "his bread and butter and they don't understand it"
You are genuinely the only level headed, mature Star Wars content creator left, please don’t stop making Star Wars videos; you are quite literally our only hope from the jaded and cancerous fandom that worships the prequels with no sense of irony.
For real. Every other Star Wars content creator either shills for Disney and has no critical thinking skills, or makes Star Wars a political issue and brings up alt-right conspiracies in the middle of a video about the new Disney+ shows for some bizarre reason. You’re either brain-dead or completely insane. There’s no reasonable middle ground, and it’s getting annoying as a fan.
It doesn't have to be ironic. The Prequels were great, but we should all be able to point out it's flaws. Yes, the people who say they're "perfect" and hold other content to that standard are incredibly annoying, but people can unironically like something like the Prequels. But, as you say, these guys take it too far and literally worship the ground George Lucas treads on.
Him and Theory are great
@@bottombarrelbudgetfilms1854 Uh... SWT is a toxic douchebag who called Eckhartsladder a "sellout" and insulted Star Wars Explained's wife. He's done nothing but spread unwanted negativity, gossip, and toxicity. Why do you think every SW CZcamsr has cut ties with him? I don't say all this to insult you, just to warn you, he's nothing like HelloGreedo, and I think Theory might have beef with him, too lol.
@@owenparris7490 when did he ever do that? maybe there is a side of him i haven’t seen, but he always seems respectful of everyone else’s opinions despite being a big prequel fan
Flawless Mike zeroh impression always gets me
At this point I just don’t care about discussing the sequel trilogy anymore because it’s so tiresome.
Right? I really do want to enjoy these movies, but everything surrounding them is so exhausting and discouraging as a fan. No one wants to have civilized discussions, everyone wants to be the louder more obnoxious Harry Plinkett, and I'm sick of it.
@@Double-R-Nothing that’s the issue, nobody can properly defend or express their opinions of the sequel trilogy because it will get just get washed out by the excessive amount of the same arguments all trying to fall over eachother to be the “truly objective” opinion.
@@CountOfMonteCristo_ The usual. "Disney shill, Kathleen Kennedy worse than Hitler, ruined Luke, CB pointless". Like, no joke I've seen people talk exactly like that--not even in complete sentences. It's like they're just repeating what their favorite CZcamsr Mauler told them.
I can't talk any star wars anymore for the same reason. But I'll still watch greedo make sarcastic videos about talking about them.
@@Double-R-Nothing I think The Force Awakens has so many great scenes that, while seeming simple, speak volumes about the characters fears and hopes. The Last Jedi has so much depth to it. Every rewatch is rewarding. Rise of Skywalker has some great character growth moments.
I could go into my critiques but I figured some positive dialogue wouldn't hurt.
Something seems.... Grunberg.
I love this parody of Star Wars clickbait culture while also painting a lens on some very real facts while also on some laughable moments.
“Do the dance. Do the clickbait dance. Anyone can do it. Anyone can do it. Make some clickbait.” - HelloGreedo
Great video. While I dislike the sequel trilogy, I am stunned at the amount of people who to this day are still trying to grift with these "detailed analysis." As if they have something to say that hasn't already been mentioned thousands of times by now. Seriously, let it go and move on. The core message of Star Wars is "don't give into hate" yet so many people in this fandom fail to understand that.
I'd say the main message of SW is more about family and courage, and just saying "don't give into hate" didn't work. But I agree, I don't understand how so many people put valuable time and effort into hating something they don't like. It's bad for their physical and mental health, and there's so many better things they could be doing with their time. How can people not understand this?
@@hunterlawrence3573 Luke not giving into his hate and Vader letting go of his is the point of the story dude.
@@Darthpsychonis But the story is really about Anakin. All Anakin was ever told was “don’t give into your hate” and was taught that attachments would lead to the darkside. But it was because of his love for Luke that he found redemption. He proved the Jedi wrong, both about attachments, and that it is possible to return from the darkside. I’d say the moral of Anakin’s life being a very fairytale “love is stronger than evil” is more the core message of Star Wars. Nearly every piece of Star Wars media has some underlying motif about family, even when it’s not connected to the Skywalkers
@@hunterlawrence3573 There is a difference love and attachment. They are not the same thing. The Jedi believe you can love people but you can't possess them. That is Anakin's whole issue. He doesn't want things to change. His fear of losing what he is attached to leads him to seek power and control, and falls down the well of anger and hate when his evil actions turns the ones he loves against him. Luke almost falls into the same trap. His attachment (not love) to his friends causes him to abandon his Jedi training to rush off to confront Vader. And again when the Emperor and Vader taunt him on the Death Star, Luke lashes out in anger. Luke however realizes he is repeating the same mistakes as his father and lets go of his hate and stands as a true Jedi, which inspires Vader to do the same. While yes, love and family are important themes in the saga, I believe "don't give into hate" stands as the main message. The Sith are ruled by their hate and are miserable because they are never happy. Only when people let of that hate can people truly begin to find peace and happiness. Also, the Jedi don't think that you can't come back from the Dark side. They believe that once you start down the dark path it will always dominate your destiny. In other words, people's evil deeds will still weight on them for the rest of their lives even if they do repent. In Anakin's case, he had fallen so far that the Jedi thought there was nothing left to save. It was Luke's love (not his attachment) which lead him to try to redeem his father, but even then he almost fell to hatred. Only by rejecting that hate was how the love was able to shine through.
@@Darthpsychonis In real life, the word attachment can mean something as simple as sending a PDF through an email. In the context of Star Wars, attachment does mean love. The Jedi were not supposed to love anyone. Dooku nearly got expelled from the order for knowing his sister. A Jedi Seeker hid that she had a baby and retired from seeking to join the a teaching staff just so she could be close to her son. A bunch of others probably did the same thing. We only know about those two because they were caught.
I did notice that a bunch of fanfic writers started saying love≠attachment at about the same time. That was never a thing you heard before that. I think one person did it, and I bunch of others followed suit because it’s an easy excuse to get around the canon if it helps them with the story they want to tell. But like a lot of things in fanfiction, I never found any indication of that in canon
You’re correct that Anakin’s possessiveness, not love, is what led him to the darkside. He convinced himself he was doing it out of love. But it was his abandonment issues. His fear of feeling the pain of loss again. If he was really acting out of love, he’d have known Padmé would rather die than him kill a bunch of children.
It was genuine, healthy love for his son that brought him back. Luke was afraid for his friends, but he wasn’t willing to destroy everything they’d fought for. He didn’t have the same mental and emotional issues as his father did. (Also Anakin was diagnosed with BPD. I don’t know much about that so I can’t speak to how that factors in)
So I think the fairytale family message is much more central to the story than any others. Which makes sense because Star Wars is a fairytale in space
Swear to God this is why this man is the best starwars review/analysis/fan out there. He gets it
These videos never get old
I never expected the return of "Something seems...... *G r u n b e r g* " in the rest of my life.
And I'm all here for that.
You’re honestly the one thing I miss from leaving the larger Star Wars community it’s always a treat seeing your vids
Currently one minute in, please let this be the sequel to canon deep dive. I NEED this.
lol
YES
@@HelloGreedo This is So Good, you Video is So Funny and Feels like a Poem!
I love the Sequels, I think they're great! My only criticism is that they would've been better with one director for all three films.
Respect.
@@Cheese334 We're all fans, we all like the same crazy space movies!
I agree I also love the sequels. Where they perfect? No, but I still had fun with them. I recommend listening to How Did This Not Get Made’s podcast episode on duel of the fates the original script for episode 9 even as me for someone who has fun with rise of sky walker even I admit the original script ideas for episode 9 seemed really interesting.
I mean……. the Original Trilogy did quite well with 3 directors.
They would have been better if Carrie Fisher hadn't died before the last one.
Giving the Architect a run for his money.
Thought I'd accidentally subscribed to Geeks and Gamers for a second. Or Clownfish TV.
I really really really liked the subtle dig at Mike Zeroh with the way you end your sentences.
6:49 thanks Hellogreedo, now I'm gonna start saying "Willard Smith"
This legit had me cracking up more so than most CZcams videos today. When Greedo knows what to say, man, he KNOWS what to see. He’s a champ.
You could call him… “big brain”
Came for the Star Wars, stayed for the Dreamcast
Finally someone had the courage to say what needed to be said
I haven't actually laughed out loud, several times in succession, in I don't know how long. Love your sense of humor Greedo! Thanks for the content you produce.
It's as if Star Wars movies are just like other movies... some things I like. some things I don't like. But was I entertained? Yup.
At this point I would rather saw off my toes with a butterknife and feed them to my children than to discuss the sequel trilogy with anyone ever again. Similar to Game of Thrones, I was over it the moment it ended.
Nice takeaway. Really in depth analysis. 10/10
Greedo, brotha, this is comedy gold but I worry for your sanity
Dandelion anus…
Love the up and down of the voice tone like Stupendous Wave, that dudes voice is so grating
"HelloZeroh"
This is the only Star Wars channel I follow anymore. Great stuff.
Oh. My. God. Lmao. Even the end of sentence inflection is spot on
I'm sorry, but this video's length sucks me right out of the immersion. It should be 10 hours long for no apparent reason, despite all the points involved only needing an hour tops to talk about.
I have no idea what I leaned from this, but I learned a lot of it.
I love these videos so much. This is gold. Thank you!!
All hail the big brain.
King 👑
👁👁
Takes one to know one my guy.
I am now an expert in Star Wass 🎉
So, when do you suppose Picard will appear in the Mandalorian?
Would love to see Greg Grunberg react to these videos.
This was amazing! I highly enjoyed this, thank you!
I'm like 50/50 on the sequels. There are things I really like and things I don't. Same with the prequels. I think the issue is that some people just can't let it go. You gotta move on from it after some point. If you focus so much energy on hate you're only going to feel apathy and pain.
Why is this art??? Why is this genuinely art????? XD
Gonna need this transcript so I can get a copypasta revved up
Everyone else “LAUGHING FOR 17 MINUTES STRAIGHT LOL” I’m just like
Why 😂
Not gonna lie, I didn't even make it 2mins before I started lmao... Much love, bro, keep being awesome. 🤣
Snahp WexLAY!
Something seems, Grunberg
Guys send help, I think my brain is melting out of my ears
laughed for 17 minutes straight. Thanks, dude , I love these videos :)
It's sad remember, but i can only like this vídeo once.
Who didn’t love the Dreamcast.
The quintessential review
I LOVE the sequel trilogy.
Same!!
The editing in this video is underrated, when the Sega Dreamcast but comes in, just beautiful.
That’s some Shatneresque speech patterns.
Deffo getting a Mike Zeroh vibe from this lol. Well played Greedo!
Is it weird that I actually really enjoyed this video and was following along attentively?
Nice Strawman
Ngl I'm actually stoked about this mystery, why does he get so few likes?
My god. Please never stop being you Greedo. You are the best, fucking hilarious!!!
1:28 with "big brain" you can just slightly catch something that sounds like a "Ok how much more of this do I have to do". It's just a breathy exhale type sound but it's just funny to me because (while I do find it hilarious) this type of "review" just hits that "oh god this is going to be painful to listen to" spot for me.
Well done sir, well done. You have once again captured the essence of a painfully real thing that's on the internet.
Hellogreedo makes a good filthy frank impression
I don't remember "Snap" as the Star Wars character. I just think, "hey, it's the mind-reader from Heroes!"
I just fuckin love the first 2 minutes of this. Bravo
Great job man. MauLer could have made this.
Roasted and Toasted, I will never see these movies the same way again.
Never change Greedo 🤣
literally just about to comment about Greg Grunberg when he brought it up XD
i will now be calling james cameron james "avatar" cameron every chance i get
Crazy Taxi rules though.
I hope this blows up
Greedo, where do I find that 80s synth song you often use in your videos? I love it.
This is his magnum opus
it´s about time someone said this!
Awesome. Love that accent. Anyone remember that episode of South Park when Kyle and his family moved to Chicago becouse his dad drove a hybrid? The people there sounded JUST LIKE THAT.
Sir, this is a Wendy's
I wish hellogreedo made more videos of random 90s stuff
Someone ought to make a Marvel version of this 😅
This was incredible. Thank you greedo
Im too high for this lmao
I didn't follow Grunberg until you mentioned Grunberg so now I'm one of the followers of Grunberg...weird
Yep. I don't know what that means, so I'll just nod and say yes. Yes.
I think the parody was a little TOO leaned into. 😅
It was kind of a chore finishing the video.
Omg a real HelloGreedo video
Well, Greedo. You have certainly outdone yourself on the goofyness while at the same time explaining most of the online content structure of today.
I thought this was serious until about 10 seconds into the video
I skipped around… and I uhh. Idk. What this is? But I support it
I love you Greedo
Okay, I know this is a parody but this is close to some SW videos where there's all these words and nothing is said and/or follows this insane logic makes someone asks "what are you smoking?"
Like, I can't follow what they're talking about.
love the vid bro
Fucking hilarious! “Dandelion anus!” lol
Oh shit I've been looking forward to this
Okay, but there was nothing on the 1995 Ford Explorer unsubscribed.
Finally someone talking sense😄!
he's a master of the craft guys
It's a parody of the Critical Drinker, am I correct? Either way I'm lovin it!
I love your shittery. It gives me life.
