    Girl, you speak truth about us having to change our texture to feel accepted when no other ethnicity had to do that. I used to long for a wash and go and wondered why we could not do that like our sisters with curly hair or straight hair. I always wondered why our hair was considered ugly and why a little new growth was embarrassing. But not anymore! Divas like you have helped me embrace my natural hair and now I'm proudly part of the natural hair community. I'm now in love with my kinks for the first time ever.

      P F .....You must recognize the pressures and the circles of judgment YOU/WE place ourselves in.
      Unfortunately "Self-Love" is not openly celebrated amongst the Black Family! At least that's THE LIE we've been fed, and we believe it, sum of us! (Not I)
      Always needing validation from others, instead of recognizing the envy of others thru imitation; WE continue to be our biggest critics and it's sad because we ARE a beautiful people; NATURALLY!!

    You wanted to know why you couldn't wear the hair that God gave you. I wanted to know why I had to waste so many perfectly good Saturdays at the salon. We'd arrive at about 7 am only to leave at about 2 or 3...if we were lucky! Since my first relaxer was at around age 3, I honestly didn't even know that natural hair was an option!
    I've been natural since 2012 with armpit length combination 4b/4c hair. Your channel is giving me life!! Thank you so much!!!

    True young lady, we are brain wash thinking our hair is the worse, but the big happy news for me is that the creator of the universe has woolly hair revelation 1: 14 and Daniel 10. I had sister locks and now I now my God has my hair those locks came out now I am rocking my wool. Happy that you appreciate your wool.

      We need to be CAREFULLY READING the scriptures before sharing.
      Revelation 1:14 says: His head and hair were WHITE LIKE wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;
      Revelation 1:14 NKJV
      SO.... THE COLOUR OF WOOL. We donot know exactly what the texture of His hair is. Only the colour.
      BUT EVERYTHING God created was and is very good. And we honour and respect Him by accepting what He has given us.
      God bless you richly.

    "They never told us that black is beautiful" -Chronixx. I have now empowered myself and I have found my true self and identity through my kinky curly type 4 hair. Kinky curly hair is beauty and as black women, we embrace our true selves. Beauty inside and out. I love it!

    omg this is really emotional cause i used to have the exact same thoughts about my hair i just didnt understand why it had to be this way i asked everyone around me and they said thats just how it is and now that i look back i realize it all stems from lack of education about my own hair. Everyone around me was also uneducated about hair so ofcourse relaxers were the only option i can't believe it took leaving africa and coming to a whole other country for me to be more educated on natural hair

    Does anyone have any tips on growing out shorter sections? I big chopped in December and recently discovered I have an area in the back where the hair is fragile and different from the rest of my texture (4a). I don't use heat, moisturize daily, and I wear my satin bonnet. I don't want to cut my hair all over again because it's coming along way already (just over 2 inches). Plus I want to rock a cute fro for my college graduation. :(

    • @CravingCurlyKinks
      @CravingCurlyKinks  Před 6 lety +5

      Hi, maybe you can braid or twist your hair and leave it as a protective style while still following your moisturization routine without taking your hair out. That usually works pretty good. Low manipulation.

    • @Brownie8986
      @Brownie8986 Před 6 lety +2

      Ari scalp massage brush, you can try the inversion method once a week, being active helps, but at the end of the day it may just be how your growth rate is. So to that I'd say all you need is patience. Let it grow. Don't cut the other side just because it's a little lopsided. Do more protective styling so you're not so focused on the end product. Other than that, you should be fine. ☺ my hair did that too for a while but it eventually grew out evenly. Oh, and I almost forgot. You may not do this, but speaking from experience don't tie your hair scarves too tight at night. Blood flow needs to flow freely. Any constriction to the body in any way will only slow it down. Good luck nena.

    • @xtelfolaj
      @xtelfolaj Před 6 lety +1

      where is the section that is more fragile? i think its important to finding out that hair texture like density, fine or coarse, porosity, elasticity, etc. so you would know how to take care of it. i remember a youtuber had loose hair like curly/wavy hair but her nape was 4c, and because she only knew how to take care of curly hair and not kinky hair the back of hair wouldnt grow long. you can try different protective styling to give your hair a break to grow, you can try castor oil, or try ayurvedic techniques (look up curly proverbz), try different moisture techniques, some hair thrives from constant moisture, some thrive from low manipulation etc
