  • In this video I cold blue and oil the handle on one of my craftsman mini hatchets.

    I have a Plumb boy scout hatchet with original handle and sheath, but also has a mirror polish head. I've always been on the fence about changing that. In some ways the mirror polish is a nice contrast to the weathered handle which still has some of the original red / green paint scheme. This video made decision even harder !
    Yours turned out great.

      Thanks for the continued support! Some axes definitely look good with a polish don't get me wrong. If I was not going to use it I'd have been more tempted to leave the polish. One of the nice things of going from polish to bluing is the surface prep time is minimal!
