it is absolutely hilarious that Nikolai *does* legally have to clarify that Sturmond is a privateer and not a pirate - if he doesn't he could get in genuine legal trouble within the laws of his country, even if he is secretly the prince/king - especially because he's determined to keep Nikolai and Sturmond two separate people
