- Highlights from the RAF Cosford Airshow, in a year that featured numerous debuts and a high-quality military and civilian line up.
While the highlight of the show arguably came from the French Air Force - Couteau Delta with two Mirage 2000s - the RAF themselves provided one of the biggest flying display contributions at any airshow in recent years. Types on show included the Atlas, Voyager, Tutor, K-21, Typhoon, both variants of Hawk (one flown by the Red Arrows) and the HC.5 model of the Chinook, flying at an airshow for the first time. The RAF Falcons jumped from an Atlas for the first time at a public airshow, and the RAF also debuted its new, much-anticipated F-35B Lightning role demonstration.
Civilian highlights included Navy Wings' Swordfish and Wasp, the Folland Gnat, B-17, Hurricane, Rolls Royce Heritage Flight and the Gazelle Squadron.

Just spotted that the closing credits weren't updated following the Midlands Air Festival episode! So I'm adding here my personal thanks to the Cosford team for hosting us, and apologies for not having recognised that in the video outro. Join us again for our next episode, from the Quinte Int'l Airshow in Canada, in a few weeks' time.
Adam are you doing an airshow dispatches for sywell airshow 22&23 June.
I am providing English language commentary for the live broadcast of Antidotum Airshow Leszno that weekend, and there's nowhere else I'd rather be.
@@ThisisFlight oh will one of your camera team film sywell. I do apologize for any stupid questions and thank you.
As far as Airshow Dispatches is concerned, with the exception of some Asia/Australia episodes (filmed by Nigel, who lives out there), I am the camera team, there's only one of me. So no, we'll have no coverage of Sywell.
But do join us live from Leszno instead, for the best airshow in the world! czcams.com/video/vK-Yl39p46M/video.html
Turbo performed absolutely magnificently in that painted up Typhoon! what a Pilot!
Great coverage and excellent camera control. Thank you for sharing. Made my year. ;)
Was on the train when the French mirages went over😂😂
What a brilliant video. Excellent camerawork accompanied by a very interesting and informative commentary. Thank you very much indeed for this.
Brilliant photography, the close ups of the F35 were awesome.
Awesome footage and commentary, the display by Equipe de Voltige was extraordinary.
Some of the best display team footage I've ever seen ..amazing camera work!
...and piloting🥴!!
This was the one I was waiting for! Another wonderful video. Gutted to miss this one again but captured beautifully. Amazing as always 🇬🇧✈️
Great commentary 👍
fantastic M2000D! such a sexy badass looking airplane with their fuel tanks! amazing! and Incredible aerobatic voltige. french pilots got skills!
Great video very well put to gether.
brilliant video, very professional
The barrell roll into high-alpha pass was part of the display in its very early years on the circuit; it was this manoeuvre that caused the infamous near-miss at RIAT 2005. This is the first year it has returned to the display routine.
I'm an American, but the Mirrage III is my 3rd favorite airplane. Obviously the F-16 is 1, then F-15. F-22 is cool, but not breaking world records for speed and altitude cool
Awesome 🎉 Thank you

THIS GONNA BE A BANGER 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Typhoon with its special (fighting in Eastern Europe) paint scheme. Good luck.
Do you think the RAF will set up a full aerobatic display for the F-35B? Honestly I think I prefer this role demo, it is a lot closer to the crowd and provides some variety in display from the RAF whilst still being great to watch. I do wonder if they plan to make a display team in the future
To the best of my knowledge, it's not on the agenda for the near future. That doesn't necessarily mean it isn't happening, it just means I haven't heard anything about it.
@@ThisisFlight I appreciate the quick response. This role demo is frankly great. I’d much rather watch this than an aerobatic performance from the f-35. As per above, it provides some variety in how the raf display their aircraft
F-35 is not a suitable aerobatic display vehicle for the RAF - very expensive aircraft, very expensive to run & very, very, very expensive to maintain. This is why manoeuvrable, trainer aircraft have been used by the Red Arrows for the last 60 years [Gnat T1 & the Hawk T. 1]. We will never have the capacity to use F-35s in a display team format.
Nightjar, I think you've misunderstood the question. Table101 wasn't asking if F-35s will equip the Red Arrows, he was asking about an aerobatic display in the style of t he Typhoon Display Team.
So enjoyably
37:18 “COME HERE LIL BOY”
Great video. I was there on the day with my two young boys, who loved it. Out of curiosity, what camera was used for the video?
Thanks. I use a Panasonic HC-X1500.
Awesome filming!
