I recently moved and just now I was going through a box of memories when I found this little pile of Top 40 lists that our local pop station used to give out every week and my best friend and I would collect them. On one of them I had written a one word description of how much I liked each song, and by this obscure song that I couldn’t remember for the life of me, I had written “great.” So I had to come to CZcams to refresh my memory. I wasn’t disappointed.
This has always been one of my faves, but about 10 years ago I was in a bar in Fort Smith, AR and Carlene has a gig across the street and after her gig she and her band came to the bar I was at. For some reason I was very drunk so I told her she sang on one my favorite songs, and when she asked me what it is i couldn't think of the name of the song for about 30 seconds or so. When it finally came to me her expression was total shock and she told she had forgot that song, and she couldn't wait to tell Robert that someone remembered it.

OK, nice melody, but there is quite a bit I don’t understand about this song. 1. “But you know where I’m going tonight. You can find me where the feeling’s all right.” In other words, “Um, honey, I’m going out to the club to pick up some other dude to fuck, OK?” 2. “I didn’t wanna do it, but I couldn’t say no.” “Yup, I fucked another dude. I couldn’t help it, I was really horny.” 3. “I’m not about to let you walk away; I thought I’d walk away from you someday.” “Don’t leave me, babe! I want to leave you first!” This is not likely a winning argument if you’re trying to persuade a woman to not leave you, am I right? 4. “You talk so tender, then you run out of gas.” Well maybe this explains Nos. 1 and 2. He’s got erectile dysfunction, is that it? Is that what this song is about? If not, please explain.
