Columbus used the "black women" as a scapegoat, to escape and cover up his issues. He knew his statements would cause a uproar, so he can gain publicity since his career went down hill after his criminal behavior and poor choices. It appears that anyone looking for an excuse or gain monetarily uses the "black woman" and/or our negative stereotypes. Tyler Perry did it when he spoke on that black woman's podcast who works for him. Heck, one can argue his entire success was off the backs of black women.

What is going on in these gang cases these days? Between YSL and Young Melly, the DAs had YEARS to build their cases, and this was the best they could bring? Add to that all the shenanigans. It certainly doesn't make Atlanta and Miami prosecutors look good.
I was raised in a two parent household. My dad worked and my mom stayed home. She cleaned and cooked. They were married almost 40 yrs before his passed. I did the same as my mother, but I worked.
My mom worked and cooked and cleaned. My dad worked long hours to set his whole family up financially so it all balanced out. My grandmother worked too; still cooked and was the heart central of the family. I don’t understand why this generation has all these opinions about how it “Should be done”

I’m not a real Roxstar lawyer, so this is just my layperson understanding/opinion. I have been watching this YSL trial since day one (can you believe they up to like day 100 something!?), and it’s been a shaky shit show from day one! The secret meeting just blew the mess wide open. I think everyone should be watching what’s going on with this trial right now (or any of these trials that are live streamed) because you will learn so much about our legal system. Or at least this is all very interesting to me (I feel like in another life I would have been a lawyer instead of an accountant LOL). In addition to the live court hearing, I’ve been watching a lot of lawyers on youtube (including lawyers actively involved in the case) who have been talking about this case, and they all say this is outrageous.
From what I understand, yes it would be an issue for the judge and prosecution to have a meeting about critical stages of the case without notifying or including the defense, but what makes this situation even more egregious is that the judge and prosecution had a secret meeting together WITH a sworn witness (Lil Woody - the one who all the memes have been going around about). At the very least it gives the appearance of witness intimidation or coercion, especially with THIS witness because he made it clear before the meeting ever happened that he is not testifying willingly. On top of excluding the defense teams from the meeting (I think there’s 6 defendants right now in this case), they also did not tell the defense about information that came out in the meeting that the defense are saying they a legally entitled to know about, like Lil Woody saying/admitting “I did these crimes!” and so much more that it’s TOO much to type out. If it wasn’t for the mole, the defense may have never known all this stuff that 100% affects how they can defend their clients.
So several of the defense lawyers filed motions for mistrial and/or to have Judge Glanville recused/removed from the case because of his participation in the secret meeting (that’s what Brain Steele was doing when he got held in contempt for not revealing the mole). Judge Glanville denied both, but the big issue now is that the defense lawyers are saying that he cannot be the one to make the decision on the recusal and that another judge should be assigned to decide if he should be removed. The problem here is that Judge Glanville is the chief judge of this superior court, so there’s kind of like no judge above him in this court to “check” him to make him assign deciding his removal to another judge. So in comes Doug Weinstein (a lawyer for a different defendant in the case) who files an emergency motion with the GA Supreme Court to remove Judge Glanville. The Supreme Court denies the motion, but in their denial, they say that the motion to recuse Judge G has to be heard in Superior court first by a judge other than Judge G. Once that happened Judge G released the unredacted transcript of the secret meeting and said that the motion to recuse him would be assigned randomly to another judge in the Superior court, and until a decision is made, the case is paused.
So now, a judge in the Superior court will have to decide on the motion to remove Judge G from the YSL case, but now the defense lawyers are saying that a Superior court judge from a completely different county should be assigned because any judge in this court/county can’t be 100% impartial/unbiased because they essentially all answer to the chief judge, so it’s like asking someone to go against their own boss. The first judge assigned recused herself (I can’t remember her name). Now it’s with a different Superior court judge, and she declined to recuse herself, so now everybody just waiting on her to make a decision on removing Judge G or not.
In the meantime, the defense lawyers are saying that the defendants should have bond because I think they’ve been sitting in jail 2 years now and that this slow down in the trial is not their fault. Plus asking for a mistrial altogether and saying that since the judge and prosecution are the ones who messed up everything with this trial, it attaches double jeopardy so they shouldn’t just say ok to a mistrial then try to re-try them again.
And as long as this comment is there is actually so much more! You should go listen to some of these lawyers reading these motions Steele and Weinstein have filed over the last couple of weeks. When you say professionally ripping someone a new asshole… that’s exactly what they’re doing to Judge G and the two ADAs on the prosecution side.
That young thug trial has been a waste of time, money and resources since it began. It's time for them to let it go.
