Easier quick instruction without 2 account (SOLO)
1 open game
2 load base
3 pick up axe to duplicate
(Make sure that axe is in hand)
4 reload and when working shows up press backspace than load base to another location
5 you finished

I know a better way
1. Stand on your base, and hold the axe you want to dupe
2. Press menu
3. Press “b” on your keyboard and right after you did that, click the green slot (the slot your on)
4. Make sure you see the menu button and the slot menu
5. Click reload slot then right after you do that, press backspace
💥 you duped a axe, sure it takes longer, but it’s a little bit easier

Okay, it did that with me and I have a solution. So when it won't let you pick them up, you need your main account to reload the base in a different area. Bring both of your accounts over to base, then it will work
