This is one of our songs for all-state choir here in Texas! It's so beautiful and honestly my favorite of the selection. I'm so excited for auditions!!!!!

@nova-em3pf, I appreciate you sharing that with me. I am so thrilled and honored to have a piece performed by the TMEA treble All-State and have admired many recordings for so many years, it is exciting to finally have a piece of mine being performed by y’all. :) Best of luck in your audition!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! This just made me smile SO HARD. :D I am happy that this piece brought you to tears... It brings me to tears seeing others moved by this piece. I feel bad saying this, consideringI just said it on the comment below, but it reminds me of the first time I was ever moved to tears by a choir experience. :)

this song truly is the sole reason i wish to make the tmea treble choir. it’s just so beautiful. the lyrics, the harmonies, the nostalgia and memories this piece brings me is the sheer closest thing to perfection we as humans can ever achieve. thank you so much for this!

I am extremely humbled to read this comment. When I decided to start composing, I wanted to write music that would inspire and transform others as I was when I fell in love with choir in high school. What a pleasure and extremely humbling feeling to read your comment. Thank you for reaching out.

I've had a lot of experience in choir over the past 9 years of my life, from 5th grade to now, my sophomore year in college. I heard this piece one year at State Honors Choir.
Without a doubt, this is the single piece that moves me to tears every single time I come to listen to it.
I love this piece, thank you.

Just sang this with our district choir such a beautiful piece of music, poetry, accompaniment. It is so incredibly powerful and important in this day and age for women to come together as one even if just for a beautiful piece of music about our unity.

I’m so excited to sing this on my tour to Carnegie Hall!! I’m in a Women’s Choir at our all women’s school and this song’s message couldn’t be any more fitting. I can imagine the tears singing this!

I can solidly say that 2 years later, as we're singing this for my final concert in my senior year, I cry every time, especially when we get to "Even when you leave this does not leave you". I have to hold tears back every time. Thank you for writing this beautiful song!!

@@bumbleybb8908 I just saw this. How special that a piece of music was able to meet you at two different points of your life. What a journey I am sure those four years were.

Sorry for not commenting on this right away, I just saw this now. This brought me back to sharing pieces with my choir director hoping we could sing them. Never did I think a piece I would write would mean so much to someone that they would do the same.

I am happy you enjoy this piece! It is one of my personal favorites to watch live. I enjoy seeing the large smiles on singers' faces at different moments. It reminds me of how I FELT the first time I was ever brought to tears when singing in a choir. :)

Zachary J. Moore I sang it in a Treble choir at a select festival a couple of years back- it’s a beautiful piece to listen to, and as an alto, I love singing it. I hope that I can some day sing it again in a choir.
Thank you, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your gift with us! All of your music is incredible.

HAHA! I am happy that I wrote an Alto line that is actually enjoyable for an Alto to sing . (instead of one note the entire time.) I am happy that I could bring music to such a beautiful poem... Also, thank you for being so supportive of my music. You are a very kind individual.

My choir is performing this song this semester. Honestly, one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever sung so far. And, I’m so happy that we aren’t singing this my last semester in Chorus because I would be A MESS. we are singing this my second to last semester with my college choir. It sums up my journey with this women’s chorus - we are one. Thank you Zachary Moore

This is so awesome to read... this just adds to the great day I have had thus far... Not only was I able to inspire my own students, but I was able to move someone not even in my choir room. I am so happy that you enjoy singing Always Keep This Close. It is honestly one of my favorites that I have written; however, I am a larger fan of the poem used for it. It is just full of meaning, truth and beauty! What college are you singing it with? Thank you for sharing with me, otherwise I would have never known :)

I’m so happy you saw my message! I also think the poem is truly empowering and beautiful. My choral director had us read it before even singing the song so that helped create a strong foundation for the song. I sing with the University of Central Florida Women’s choir!

That is absolutely awesome to hear about... I was just down in Florida a couple years ago working with Dr. Trent Brown and a choir of his! I am not sure if you know that name but he does a lot for the choir world in Florida. :)
