The sound of a V8 full noise never gets old hey,I love it
So good!
30 plus years ago i was seated at turn 4 at the now abandoned Thunderdome at Calder Park when they held the first NASCAR event outside of the US courtesy of Bob Jane. The sound of 30 of these things going by at full speed is like nothing else.
You should hear 43 of them at Daytona.
Fella is absolutely wheeling it too, awesome to see
Hard to tell if he's fast or any good, when there was barely another vehicle in sight. Most numpties can steer a car around a track, if there's nothing at all to compare with.
So fitting for the best looking Falcon model - The XT
And now all we need is another 30 odd of them and we could rival the Glen. Maybe even throw in a track where you turn left. Must be even more intense in person. Love the high revs of a NASCAR V8 though
Fantastic sound , and a well balanced gearbox and suspension set up, be interested in his lap times.
Aussie V8 at Bathurst and they turn left alright
Oh man, 30 of these! That's the stuff dreams are made of!
@@BlendLineTV 😂Yeah
In my opinion the XT Falcon was the best.
Love listening to that Windsor V8 rev beautiful.
I might make that my new ring tone.
I've got a 1964 high nickel FE block in my 73 Ford, short bed, factory high boy 4X4. Hedman Headers and Series 40 Flowmaster Desert Racing Mufflers shotgunned out the side in front of the rear tire. It doesn't sound quite that loud but I've had it over 7000 RPM and I LOVE IT! Second owner for the last 36 years. Very Proud and everybody turns their head when I'm around, LOL! People gather around it when I take it to town, LOL! Almost bullet proof engine! Thanks for the laughs of joy, LOL!
Holy shit it looks like this XT really handles. What a weapon. An eXTremely valuable one.
Thank you, Australia 😍
That thing sounds amazing! It revs to the sky!
Brings back memories of the glory days of Australian racing. Ford, Holden and the Mountain. 👍🙏🇦🇺
Sounds awesome, I would love to feel it speed past me in all its glory 🍻🇳🇿👍.
Ford, Holden, Valiant.

An awesome car, awesome sound; shows there's something missing with the stereotype V8 supercars. The XT was a fantastic car.
they all look the same to me these days, l gotta watch the grill to tell which is bloody which.
The XT series wasn't anything special. It was hardly different to - or better than - the XR.
(This race car is only an XT in shape and basic structure. It might have leaf sprung, live axle, rear end, but that's about it.)
I really like the XT GT, but whilst it was a lovely gran turismo car, it wasn't that good when it came to racing against the Monaro.
How good does the sound ! I can hear every mm of Excelerator adjustment as the driver inputs . Beautiful
no offense.. probably spelled 'accelerator'..
@@zan7838 Yeah, but it does it so well, it simply excels. Ergo, "excelerator". Or maybe not - who knows?
@@zan7838 dyslexic friend and I will never be able to spell . But I’m a car guy and that’s all that matters

Love the growl of good running V8.
Now that is music to my ears. What a sweet sounding engine. Awesome!!
Man, what a beautiful car.
hecking beautiful, no joke
Where???
That sound could give a dog a bone!
Iconic Falcon. Fabulous sound. Beautiful handling. Great driving. I could watch it all day. Hey there's an idea for Supercars!
this car is hardly handling like they used to. its only a falcon body
@Danny Boyd I learnt to drive in an XP. Then drove Dad's XB Ute and XB 302 Fairmont. Later I owned an XE with modified suspension and brakes so I know what you mean by "handling". Still, the car was driven well and the car handled great considering it's limitations.
This car is basically set up like the front runners in the NZ central muscle car series, which is like the touring car masters but faster
@@darianistead2239 Respect!!!
It's definitely not iconic, mate. This car doesn't have a Falcon engine or gearbox, probably doesn't have much XT in the suspension department, and *definitely doesn't* have XT Falcon brakes. It'll have a live axle and leaf springs, and from the outside _looks_ like an XT GT.
Since we didn't see the driver being tested in any way at all, we never really saw any serious race driving. No-one was obstructing him, or matching him, or making him push any limits. It's only when the pressure is on, that you see if a car has good handling, and if a driver can really race.
That's all aside from the fact that when Ford brought the XT GT to Bathurst, it was soundly beaten by the first GTS Monaro.
I'm in love. That's the best thing I've seen AND heard on YT this year. How about we replace the upcoming Gen3 with these and have some racing with "soul" again?
Couldn't agree more...!!!
If you marry this car, i WILL have an affair with it!!! 😎
Got my vote. It's been years since I followed Supercars. Lost interest watching their version of Bathurst too. However I do watch TCM and the 12hr.
For that soul

What a car, no wings or fragile components, makes our supercars look pretty ordinary.
And I imagine at a fraction of the cost of the current cars..
nascar engine, sell your house..
Well you'd be wrong about the cost.
The rolling chassis sans engine and transmission would be north of 200 000 dollars . The engine likely north of 40 000 the transmission around 4 to 5 thousand.
Insane, gives me the chills, such a great sound.
Good mate of mine "Steven Parashis" is wheeling this beast. We generally compete at the same events, while our cars are completely different, we run similar times.
I know the track has changed heaps since the 70’s be interesting to see the difference in the lap times frow now and then
@@buppalo9633, If you're interested to see the times of a basically stock 302 XT GT from the Bathurst era of "Run what you Brung" that might have even been road registered and driven to the track, versus a purpose built humungus dollar 21st Century mega-modded cyborg XT shell with 2022 NASCAR internals? It would be about 1 minute difference per lap. Cheers.
yes, i agree,,in a lower comment,,put this up with modern taxi racing. that will pull the crouds in. say, 10 cars & the xt.. better than thiose pretend ''super trucks''. god this country needs a kick up the ass.. never watched a race since 1989.. holdens are ass holes.. thank fk there gone. pieces of sht.. i drive a 73 r/t 340 challenger,,a real car..

Love the sound!! The down shifts! Keep in the power band!!!
Now that`s SICK. My 1st car a XT 3.6l 221cui falcon. 2nd car was a 4.7l 289cui my 1st V8
FARK! What a glorious sound!
At last , a proper use for a NASCAR engine!!!!!
The look, the sounds
Takes me back quite a ways to my childhood
Imagine, mustangs, corvettes, the occasional challenger, toss in a maverick or two.
And that'd be sears point raceway back in the early 70's
Man, you Yanks got it made. Fuck all vettes and stangs in Ozstraya. But boy howdy, you sure notice when they go buy.
Trans Ams even rarer...
Mind, we DO have a lot of of home grown muscle cars. And FUCK ME for things that drive like tractors (mostly) they are now worth SHIT LOADS
What a sound. Like banshees being released. Would love to see it up close. Does he race it or hillclimb it regularly? If so what series please?
I loved every second of that video, a great car, great to hear and watch.
What a beast.
Dude held his nerve longer than I thought through The Chase.
I'm guessing that isn't running drum brakes 😁
After playing this on Gran Turismo , it just makes it cooler. Badass Falcon.
He's living the dream this guy, that's for sure!
Spine tingling roar from that well tuned motor. Well done, mates!
Good Lord man, what an awesome angry classic, makes one feel alive, absolutely love it👍🇿🇦
thanks for that, the only time l can sit and listen to a ford for 3 full minutes :D
the EH in the background at the end topped it for me, thanks!
Beautiful sounds
Love that engine sound....that is simply the best. 👍
What an awesome feast for the ears and eyes, best of both worlds working it hard.
Epic sound. Little else to say. Makes the hairs on ya neck stand up. Proper NASCAR motor.
had to laugh when it passed the 60 speed sign
like im sure he was only doing the speed limit officer :p
hahahaha.
Seriously tho, all filmed on closed course events!
And the Road Warrior that was the last we ever saw of him He lives now....... only in my memories
Greay stuff mate best sound ever thank you
When you hear it live it's fantastic, nearly 10.000rpm, brings memories from when NASCAR came to Adelaide international raceway in the 90s, the sound beats any V8 racecar in Australia .
Nearly 10,000 rpm....who proves that ?
Fuck yes what a weapon! I honestly think that is one of the nicest sounding V8s I've ever heard, and the old XT how good is that thing going around corners, its handling like no Falcon of that era that I've ever owned or driven that's for sure, of course we tried but it would usually end up into a tree or ripping a wheel off in a concrete gutter 🤣
Stuff your 4cyl,6cyl electric cars etc ,there aint nothing like the sound of a v8 ,especially this one ,magic
Same. That engine sounds so so sweet!
Classic not Plastic. This is a Beast. Now we need to race it with the XT GT has a Glen Seaton/FTR V8SC engine in it.
You have to love the sound of that big V8 going around mount panorama Bathurst. I love Falcons, matter of fact I've got one.
The sound is awesome.
Jesus that thing must be loud in the cabin, it sounds bloody awesome

Besides a Rolls Royce Merlin engine on full song, this engine is 2nd to none. Just music, and the XT is the ideal car to showcase it. Listen to it every night. Just changed my Will to have it played at my funeral - loud.

I'd like to see a series of group 7 cars like the old can am races. NASCAR engine with open chassis rules. No electronics just old school cars. That would make for great racing and wonderful big block V8 sounds.
Check out track timetables they usually have a re union race like this
Nice pure V 8 rumble. Perfect.
No NASCAR engines have a nice pure rumble. 🤦🏼♂️
Would like to see a head to head with a modern day v8 supercar
It would be no contest.

Yes you re correct.
To give you some idea of the changes..
.
I own a 64 Fairlane 500.
This is the same car that back in the day Holman Moody Stroppe turned into a few maybe 4 or 5 prototype NASCAR racers with the 427 side oiler engine.
The idea was that these midsized cars could better compete with the smaller lighter MOPAR hemi engined cars since NASCAR had stupidly banned the Ford 427 SOHC engine from NASCAR.
HMS basically took a stock Fairlane tied the front and rear subframes together with a full rollcage and installed a full NASCAR spec chassis under the car.
Heavy duty everything from the FORD parts bin. Suspension pickup points were altered for better steering geometry wheelwells were altered fo r larger tire and wheel fitment and so on.
I had the pleasure of speaking around 5 years ago to young Holman who was kind enough to s e nd me several pictures of the underside of one of the cars his shop had prepped.
It had NO resemblance to a stock Fairlane chassis.
The approximate cost according to Hol
man of a rolling chassis sans engine and transmission was 250 000 dollars.
You can see one or more of these cars running a vintage 427 Ford engine probably producing around 600 hp circulating around the tracks at Nordschief and Nurburg on Utube. Just query 427 Fairlane at Nurburg or 427 Fairlane at Nordschief.
The Fairlanes lik e this Falcon are brutally awesome as they overtake and pass everything on th e track and the incabin video of the drivers is outstanding. Watching the tach and speedometer run up as the cars enter a straightaway from a slow corner is fascinating. The acceleration is awesome.
Since the Falcone XT is an Australian car my question is whether the NASCAR engine is based on a Ford Midland or Cleveland
Engine. Either I suppose would be possible if the engine originated in Australia.
@@joefreeman9733 id say its modern hybrid chev nascar. id be surprised if its any ford. nothing in discription or comments. didnt go thru them all. as to the 427. in oval track racing, weight isnt too much a problem, but our ausie racing is all corners. so light, alloy, is the go. we call ausie racing, bathurst ect.. taxi racing, seeing there all the same.. havnt watched any racing since 1989. when they banned sierras. holdens allways have to win, by hook or crook, mainly crook.. watched vids on the 1965 gt 40 wins. history.. only claim to fame i have, is dick johnson, sat next to me at one meeting. fords were, are, so restricted here.. but the holden guys allways use ford diffs, g/boxes. cranks. but wont buy a ford.. sad..ive imported 2 vehicles & sht load of parts. from u.s. 1962 f100, 4x4, with a 352,. Something important happens when you floor a monster like this! Must be a handful on the mountain.
What a stunning machine! The only reason why I don't want to see this as a series would be the destruction of the finest bodies on the planet. :):)
With the amount of money spent on V8 supercars, you could produce the bodies and still end up cheaper, now that would be awesome !!
