I can't believe that having horribly wrong captions is a thing that's normalized now seeing as plenty of TV shows and movies also have these issues. Subtitles are an accessibility feature and yet are rarely actually accessible.
@@cultofmel Can't say if it's what happened here, but something that has become a lot more common is studios firing their translators and localization specialists, replacing them with AI.
AI that are not yet proficient enough to properly translate nuances, or sometimes even correct phrasing.
Those chunky animation loops are distracting

I'm trying to read along so anything I don't hear isn't missed but instead they disagree so I get confused and miss both.
Didn't Wonder Woman once use the lasso on Batman and ask him who he was and he said "I'm Batman" which basically means Batman is the man and the mask is Bruce Wayne.
Yeah cause he's so emotionally broken that he's nothing but the hero that Gotham needs so kids don't grow up without parents and nobody has to die. his mask is Bruce Wayne because in the eyes of the public he's the complete opposite of batman he's the life of the party, can hold a full conversation, is quite happy with his life and his job. But the best part (keep in mind I've only really seen this in one of the batman shows) is that Bruce Wayne's public opinion on batman is that essentially he's a nutcase that should be locked up like the criminals he catches
The only weakness of the lasso it's that the person will tell a truth but not the general truth, in reality Batman is Bruce Wayne but for him is the other way around

Yeah. he's already tricked the lasso before when asked to reveal his identity to it, because he believes he is batman first, and not bruce wayne. Not to mention that leaving out critical details is still technically not lying, which Bats has absolutely exploited before as well.

This obviously changes a lot from author to author. In Batman ego, it's that too. In Batman Year One, he sees himself as Batman and not Bruce
It depends a lot on the screenwriter's approach to the character. In Justice League Trinity, which is where the lasso scene is concerned, there is nothing to indicate that Batman was lying or the lasso failed, and it is a popular interpretation that Bruce Wayne is the mask. So in that scene, the best and most appropriate interpretation with the material available, is that he really saw himself as Batman

This game came out this year?! I would have guessed more than 10 years ago if I didn't know The Batman Who Laughs multiverse is a little more recent. Looks like total crap, the mouth movements were way off and even the subtitles didn't match more than once in this short clip! How do you mess that up? 😂
There's no excuse for the subtitles, but the animation is using loops to save time and money. Lots of games do this and on its own isn't a mark of good or bad quality. That being said, there's usually SOME effort to make it less obvious.
@@maidenreligion12: That's fair, I suppose, but like you said, it seems like there's usually a little more effort to polish such things. Even for a mobile game, I'd expect a bit more, particularly from a large company like DC, in 2024.

Ok, I get matching mouth flaps to the voice in game play is not all that important, but they couldn't be bothered for cut scenes?
Also who the hell thought of putting so much echo and effects on the Monitor? Couldn't make out what was being said 1/2 the time and was forced to rely on the sub titles.
Also what the hell was up with Batman's dance before grappling away? That seemed so out of character for him.

I don’t know about “only acceptable” but damn is he good. Iconic. It’s hard not to compare others to him and I guess that sucks for others, but many have put in great efforts worthy of respect even if they don’t quite measure up to Kevin Conroy’s level.
