- Mel performing at RDC's benefit concert for Dancers Responding to AIDS in the fall of '10. This solo was choreographed by RDC faculty, Katie Carroll and Tonya Hughes.
Rhythm's outreach program, Project R.E.A.C.H. (Rhythm's Every Action Can Help) brought studios from all over the Southeast together for a night of dance.
With the help of our friends, we raised over $30,000 for DRA in one evening.
WE LOVE YOU MEL! TEAM MELANIE!

Absolutely stunning performance. I think Melanie belongs to the best dancers of the world. She has mastered everything. I hope she will have a long, very successful career. My best wishes to her.
One of the most beautiful dancers I've ever seen.
Her moves make me cry… toooooo beautiful
i JUST saw her dance this on tour. dear melanie, you are frkin FIERCE!!! I hope to see you at JUMP! if not, then ill cry, just like i did tonight with this dance and the statue dance
Mesmerizing and utterly endearing. Her dancing is magnificent, stunning. This little charmer has an extremely bright future. I'm so glad she won on SYTYCD. She richly deserved it. I can't wait to see more of her. I hope she gets to do the new 'Dirty Dancing' movie. All of America will fall in love with her.
SHE'S LIKE A SWAN, BEAUTIFUL && PURE. HER AWKWARD MOVEMENTS COUPLED WITH HER TECHNIQUE IS FLAWLESS, SHE IS A TREMENDOUS DANCER && DESERVED TO BE RECOGNIZED... I LOVE THIS PIECE.
One of my favorite dancers #melaniemoore
i am not a dancer and i pretty much know nothing about it. but she is just amazing. on the show when she did this dance she said she hadn't been a good dancer but she put her mind to it. you are going to win SYTYCD melanie !!!!!!!!!!!
She dances from her heart and you truly gotta love that! Everything about her from her sweet personality to her striking and graceful moves leave everyone breathless. She surely is going to win SYTYCD
wow most unique dance I have seen. So capturing to watch I dont know why but i feel like crying as it was so beautiful!
Art coming alive. Melanie you are amazing!!!!!
the best alwys.. ilove you Melanie Moore, your job is amazing... Greetings from Ecuador
This girl is possibly the best dancers I've seen on SYTYCD - easily. It's a gift she has - and she is amazing!
Mel I feel so honored to have been standing in the same room as you this year at the JUMP Dance Convention! You are my biggest inspiration and to watch you dance is just a joy! I hope to better myself to dance as beautifully as you do one day! You're beautiful Mel!
words will never describe the feeling i get watching her dance. i get chills EVERY time... she is a role model for every dancer, especially me! i have never seen anyone dance with such grace, beauty, passion and technique. Melanie, you WILL win the 8th season of So You Think You Can Dance! and i hope i will get to meet you and tell you in person what an inspirational dancer you are!
"So you think you can dance" is lucky to have you! and so do we!
the way she dances is amazing! she is "slouching" yet not slouching! i cant even explain it! she is just amazing
Stunning. So many of the writers of the Bible spoke of singing and dancing before the Lord in Praise & Thankfulness,& beauty.Even David praised and danced before the Lord nude. Using the body as an instrument to Praise and Worship the Father. When I see dancers dance with such conviction I long to be able to dance like that. I use my voice to Praise my God and there is such a freedom.peace, and purpose to it. Maybe in Heaven I will finally be able to dance like Melanie. Wouldnt that b amazing
She has such skill and spirit that goes into all of her dances when she performs. Any dance company that has her should be grateful to have such a legend on their team. She has inspired me to go extra hard in all of my pointe and ballet classes.
She Deserves to Win. Not only is she humble but she's the best dancer i've ever seen.
How could I never see this until 2021?! Breathtaking!
That's why she was my favorite dancer.
I don't care what everyone keeps saying about her not being challenged on SYTYCD There is not another girl on the show who could dance this routine. To stop mid spin like she does at 106 requires tremendous strength. She is a power house, beautiful, elegant and dances with a maturity and beauty I have never seen from somone so young, I could watch her all day.
She's flawless and she makes every move look so light and easy.
What an amazingly gifted dancer and a Ga. girl!
WOW!! Melanie is so amazing and well deserving of the SYTYCD title. Each and every body movement down to her fingertips is pure artistic expression! Her body says it all without words or lyrics to the song...pure genius!
She is sooooo amazing.
I love her modern dance
SHE STILL GOT IT
Nijinsky and Moore - 99 years apart
In 1912 Vaslav Nijinsky danced Debussy's l'après-midi d'un faune. 99 years later Melanie Moore dances Desplat's The Meadow. One or two of Melanie's posture attainments seem to reflect a few of those of Nijinsky. If a lesser dancer would have attempted to mimic Nijinsky, it would not have worked. But Moore is fully capable of pulling it off.
It is too bad greats that live centuries apart never get to dance together, but thanks to youtube and sytycd, we're able to find true artistry rising above the fray.
That was just breath taking.
She moves so fluidly and she herself is like a piece of great music -- there's no extraneous movement!!
hey, you are in Brazil too! and we loooove your dance!!! GRAND!
She is a fabulous dancer! I really enjoyed her performance here! God bless her!
melanie moore you are absolutely amazing!! i vote for you every week!!
what I love about Melanie is that she doesn't have to do a hundred turns or do crazy jumps to look amazing. She does it by being incredibly graceful and having amazing control. She is my inspriation to become better and I wish someday I can be as great as she is. It also helps that she is beautiful and has great hair :)
shes magical.
She's God's gift to dance. She IS art and beauty. First time I saw her on SYTYCD, I felt blessed just looking at her. She's not of this world.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Does anyone else feel like this was a 5 minute dance?! So incredibly beautiful!!
she is such a beautiful dancer i hope to meet her one day..
I'm going to da studio in august can't wait
One of the beautiful dancers I have ever seen!
omg :D this is what she did for her audition on SYTYCD. probably the best choice she ever made in her life
I loved how she incorporated moves from her audition on SYTYCD. That was absolutely perfection :)
I missed my very first homecoming dance to see Melanie in the SYTYCD tour, and I regret NOTHING
she's my role model .. if one day, i could dance half as good as her, my life will be complete!
Everything about that was perfect.
Wow. I was lost for inspiration in dance and worried my years of dancing might be coming to a close until I saw this. It's given me a drive to do well again!
That was so, so gorgeous. She's so wonderful.
beautiful beautiful!!!!!
her interpretation of music, it's beyond incredible...
WOW! this was amazing! The most beautiful expression of beauty! Melanie you are amazing and I wish I could meet someone like you!
i could watch her forever
oh wow. Perfection in motion
incredible incredible incredible.
Favorite dancer!!
I do believe the first part of this was her audition for sytycd. Who knew she would end up being one of the best dancers they ever had, and Win?! haha congrats mel!
sooo beautiful!!!!!!
increadible. i love you melanie more!! you've made me look at dance in a completely new way!
CONGRATULATIONS MELANIE!!! WAY TO WIN SYTYCD!!! AMAZING DANCING!!! :)
this is the solo she did on the tour!! so glad i found it :)
so graceful.
*CAN ANYONE NOT LOVE HER ? *
her movements are soooo soft :) amazing!
I love Melanie Moore when she dance!!!:D
This has once again reminded me of why I keep dancing ∞
I understand exactly what you guys are saying, but this was an in town performance. Everyone there, including myself, was there cheering on their friend. We were/are so proud of Mel and this was really one of the only times we had to show our support while she was on stage. It doesn't mean we have "low class" it means that we are such a tight knit community that we like to cheer on the people we love and have grown up dancing with on stage. It's our way of showing love and support.
this was her audition piece for SYTYCD! :D
Beautiful!
She used pieces of this for her top 6 solo on SYTYCD8!!!! OMG O___O
1:23 is amazing! just a simple flew and point of the toes but SO beautiful!
shes a beautiful dancer
For the life of me I just cannot see why so many people talk about how great she is . I mean I have seen many on this show who are much more, but dont get the acclaim that she does. Many times it seems that she loses her balance, but then just falls to the ground and makes some graceful roll out of it . I must not have the eye .
thats the point stupid. dancing isn't position to position- its the movement between positions. the space between two atoms. dancing is a personal relationship with the ground that no-one else has. Melanie is one of the best dancers i have ever seen in my life not because of the positions she makes but because of the movement and passion she has when making them.
I take it that she is the greatest thing you have ever seen, but Ive seen atleast 8 others on this show who are much more exciting and they do not get the acclaim thhat shes been given .
Victor Gonzalez There's certainly better dancers out there, but I guess Melanie just has a "thing". I didn't really get it either until I saw her live. I mean, I liked her a lot on SYTYCD and she definitely deserved to get to the end, but when I saw her live I simply couldn't take my eyes off her. I know it sounds stupid, but there's just something about her presence that just draws you in and I can't explain it. It's actually rather frustrating not being able to explain properly or provide any evidence.
I think the falling is actually a part of her routine, I think it is to illustrate a dramatic emotion.
stunning.
so beautiful...
brilliantly beautiful
@zz878 Agreed, though some of us said it during the show, hindsight says that she was head and shoulders above even the best female competitors. Strength, technique, maturity and her ability to connect with the piece and the audience without even having to make eye contact all make watching her a wonderful experience.
Love this, this is like a deconstructed black swan solo, amazing!
She is so theatrical - I love it!
....amazing....
this is brilliant
She's like a magic pixie swan dancer. Love how she didn't just wear like a tutu, do some fancy leaps or whatever and called herself a "swan", her movements were very birdlike yet elegant and oh so controlled.
I'm so jealous haha!
@ale2zee It's actually not Bella's Lullaby... The song is called The Meadow (from The Twilight Saga: New Moon) by Alexandre Desplat.
I.LOVE.HER. she better win sytycd!
i look up to her as a dancer... she is my inspiration . i WILL TRY TO BECOME AS GOOD AS A DANCER AS HER OR EVEN BETTER (if thts even possible ) i want to meet her in person!!!
Truly beautiful 💛🇺🇾💠
She feels it from her hair follicles to her toenails. The girl is one with music, the moments between the music, and the movements. She's seriously a star.
she makes me never want to leave ballet class.
So glad I got to see this entire piece! She's incredible! From the audition on SYTYCD you knew she'd win. She deserved it -- she's amazing!!! Does anyone know the name of the music being used in this dance? It's wonderful.
I think that this dance was absolutely amazing! i loved watching it! You are such a fantastic dancer and i wish i could do as much as you can do at my own studio :)
chills ohmygod
love how the audience just shuts it when she flips over on her toes at 0:11 :D
Love the choreo!
gurl owned that !
Ohhhhh okayy. I see it now. Either way its still a marvelous piece.
EXQUISITE BEAUTIFUL
Love the performance it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! :)
one word WOW
This was beautiful - Awesome choreography. the best I've ever seen her dance. On SYTYCD, she always seemed a little stiff in her upper body. This was much better but... take a look at Ida Saki's dance - much of the between movement was was borrowed from Ida.
He aquí, una nueva admiradora!!! FELICITACIONES, NO TIENES TECHO!!!
MELANIE M0:00RE FOR PRESIDENT!!!
I..LOVE..YOU.gosh ur my inspiration *sigh*
