Do you think West Asia can diversify away from oil? Comment below and join the conversation.
India was mocking Japan for a 0.3% economy shrink. But forgot India's economy shrank by 23.9% two years ago.
As a Indian🇮🇳. I want to congratulate the Maldives ♥ on their smart decision in selecting the superior trading partner China instead of India. It will benefit the Maldivian people greatly. Here is why:
- China is 60 times richer than India. (I know it's unfair that the British looted 45 trillion from India, but it is what it is)
- China's economy is 6 times larger than India's.
- China's yearly growth is 5 times greater than India's.
- China has better living conditions and healthcare; on average, they live a whole decade more than their Indian counterpart.
- China launches 20-50 times more rockets than India into space every year.
- China is a lot more intelligent, with an IQ of 104 compared to India's 76.
- China is more athletic and stronger than India, winning 713 more medals than India in the Olympic games.
- China won 38 times more gold medals than India the last Olympic games 2021.
- China's reserves is 7 times larger than India's reserves.
- India is forced to use the Chinese currency when purchasing oil from Russia, Iran, or Venezuela. Due to weak & undesirable Indian Rupees.
- China has 21 times more companies in the Fortune 500 than India.

one of the best documentaries i have ever seen on oil. Pls release more documentaries
Palki Ji: Smart Investigative Journalist. I liked the part of the story that you gave us how before 5000 years people know OIL and use it in different applications. Me and my friends used to see OIL SEEPS on our playgrounds in the outskirts of my town in South West of Somalia (AFRICA) but after knowing this story now, it went unfortunate TIME to FLASHBACK. Thanks Palki.
Masterpiece presentation thank you
Palki deserves an award for best Journalist. Much love from Kenya 🇰🇪
.......OMG!!! What a mind boggling....blowing and amazingly elaborative,,,informative story on the history & the world of "" black oil gold"",,.....its something only you could narrate in such simplicity in just Ten Minutes 🕊🌻🧿
Thanks for teaching us this important history event. As a proud Indian🇮🇳, I really love ♥ and have a lot of respect for the incredible work of Palki's highly captivating story regarding *How British looted 45 trillion from India* which unquestionably stands as a masterpiece of the highest quality. The content of the reporting is truly inspiring, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. The dedication, talent and hard work poured into the video are greatly appreciated by many. The Indian Union Public Service Commission has delivered a remarkable report titled संघ लोक सेवा आयोग *How Britishers killed 1.8 billion Indians. Chronology of British Raj's exploitative policies* | UPSC," is equally astounding. The Indian government consistently produces insightful and thought-provoking articles of the utmost caliber, and I sincerely hope they continue to produce such interesting exceptional work. Can it even get better than that? It should deserve an award for best report of the year. Thanks for telling the truth. Your show was really entertaining. I adore your passion
India holds the largest surrender record in world history with a billion of them surrendering to 300 British sailors for 211 years.
Drawing upon my expertise in the behaviors and nesting habits of Indians, I can definitively state that Indians did not resist the invaders; instead, the invaders, including the British and various others, eventually withdrew when there is nothing left but a population of one billion Indians grappling with poverty and illiteracy-a challenging situation that nobody was eager to tackle.
1.8 Billion makes sense. India today on average loses 10 million people per year due to natural cause or illness. So in 200 years they would lose 10million x 200 years = 2 billion people. Imagine 1757 - 1947 times when India didn't have any healthcare like today and life expectancy was much much shorter with mass malnourish (Bengal Famine + 15,763 other major famines) and were forced to work to their very bones losing their lives in the process.
The British also made Indians work in agricultural and then transport all the crops to the UK. They would rather have food rot in the UK than preventing the tens of millions that starved to death.
As an observer, let's acknowledge the considerable talent, time, and hard work invested. I express gratitude to the extraordinary Andiramon rescue team for their remarkable dedication. Your commitment and hard work bring deeper meaning to friendship, significance, and hopeful aspirations, and we truly value your dedication. I salute your professional and articulate
You are always well detailed with your presentations.

This lady is just too 🎉🎉🎉🎉gud
When black pepper was black gold, The west founded the East India companies and fought each other and made a lot of instability in India and SE Asia, where constant wars, alliances between kingdoms and companies, all for the sake of monopoly over spices, whatever is happening in the middle east now was happening in India and SE Asia.
Thank you for this information.

Beauty With Brains: PALKI SHARMA UPADHYAY.❤
Absolutely
Blessed by Tridevi..
Fantastic Palki, amazing insights into our Bread and Butter - Oil
The world’s first mechanically drilled oil well was established in Baku in 1846, predating the Drake well in Pennsylvania (1859). By 1901, Baku produced more than half of the world’s oil, making it the top global oil producer during that period. The city was a hub for innovations in drilling and production techniques, significantly influencing the global oil industry. Today, Baku 🇦🇿 is leading efforts to transition from oil to green energy and will host COP29, the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference, from November 11-22, 2024.
Good to know about oil storey.
Wonderful documentary
Queen Of Journalism Palki Sharma`s History Lesson.
I have been in the oil & gas exploration business (not anymore). Your piece is very informative. I am a fan of watching Ur shows. My 1st contract was a similar story when we had drilled 2 appraisal wells & found water. The last well we had to drill was an exploration well & just left with a million dollars, this well would cost us around $ 7 million. I was heading the company. So I called my Chairman, a risk-taker & a Scottish highlander who has since passed. After explaining to him that we could not leave the Asian nation without fulfilling our commitment, we had to give them over 5 million $ dollars. He asked me about the chances of a hit, as good as the 1st two. How do you personally feel about it? Frankly, pretty good. "Go ahead & we will find the money. This was in 89 & I was in my mid-30s. That kind of gas find is what gave that country 33 years of free & much-needed energy. The rest is history. Your piece reminded me of my maverick days.
Thank you,
ML
Well done report
@Firstpost, it's a good compilation, but you have not mentioned about Asia's first oil discovery which is in Digboi, Assam, India by Assam Railway and Trading Company during 1889.
Actually asia's first oil discovery was in china around year 600 B.C. You can check it on google.

Digboi is known as the Oil City of Assam (INDIA)where the first oil well in Asia was drilled. The first refinery was started here as early as 1901
Flashback with Palki is educating as well as entertaining 😊
Very informative.... Thanks to the entire team and Ms.Palki Sharma👏👍🎉
Interesting facts…however I do believe there’s another interesting one you missed out and that is the deal Henry Kissinger made with OPEC in 1973 during the Yom Kippur war…on the US $ to be used by all countries to buy OIL…so this was very smartly managed by the Americans and helped them two fold 1) global currency & 2) saved the US from using up their natural resource - OIL…
Good information 👍
Thank you for that info
Never knew ancient civilizations used asphalt and oil. ❤🎉🎉
Well done
flashback is the best series and I'm always waiting for the new series of flashback.

The Future without oil👉Documentary 2016" the world without oil"(aftermath without) very scary, 😦😧

Great documentary by Palki.

US : We found Weapons of Mass Destruction.😢
West Asia is preparing for a new future...A future without oil!
Much needed video.
There will be no future without oil! Without oil, we go back to stone age!
Great summary. More like this please
If you are going to call a video "the story of oil," you should include the whole history.
There is nothing about Rockefeller lighting American houses with oil. The story of oil does not start with fueling vehicles.
Ghere is nothing about the thousands of oil wells in Texas and Oklahoma.
And there is nothing about making plastics.
This video should be 2.5 hours long.
thanku so much maam for providing such useful details as well as fruitful information
Serves well.
Very informative...

I appreciate the the work
Very good 😊
1. Two years after the 1st US find in 1850s, oil was found in the island country of Trinidad. Later started production in 1907.
2. Trinidad also has the largest natural pitch lake in the world, situated in LaBrea.
3. During WW II, Trinidad also had the largest oil refinery in the western world, fuelling the war effort for the Allies.. along with a large military airstrip at Wallerfield.
[ [4. Trinidad was also the major supplier of much needed natural gas to US in late 90s through 00s.]]
Edit add'n....
BP, Texaco, Shell all operated therein and were later nationalized. Other multinationals subsequently came in as the country exploited its gas reserves feeding it's new petrochemical industries.
The Arab countries made trillions of dollars on the coast of our ailing planet.
Why flashback and between the lines stopped???????????
A future without oil is fantasy, oil will be needed all the time, if it is not ready petroleum from nature, then the oil or other derivates will be produced by farmers, growing food and processing to oil needed. A tomorrow without petroleum may be catastrophe for many countries if these tomorrow will be underestimated. The world today is better than ever, oil reach countries have conventional oil reserves, but other oil importing countries may pay the petroleum scarcity. The oil is underground everywhere where oil companies work on depleted reservoirs. They struggle for technologies, this is well known. However they have opportunity to partner with inventors who have technology not disclosed. Open for partnership with investors who understand the benefits of technologies.
West Asia is now rich and powerful because their ancestors pitched their tents at the right spot!
Mam kindly make a video on colonialism.
