That sound, power band and torque wheelies bring back a lot of memories. Yamaha YZ80s, YZ100s, YZ125s were and still are very powerful and wicked fast for their displacement.

I had an 84. I don't think people understand how fucking hard the pipe hit on these old 80s. You drive one of these as a kid and everything after feels dull.

I had a 1980 Yamaha YZ80 "Bumblebee" yellow and black when I was a kid. My cousin bought it brand new and sold it to me used in 1987. It was wicked fast for a 80cc 2-stroke bike. I remember it would hold it's own and more often than not actually outrun and beat 100cc and 125cc 4-stroke trail bikes. I wish I still had it today and remember it well. Out of all the motorcycles, scooters and ATVs I had that was my favorite one. Even cooler than a 1998 Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4 and a 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob with a Twin Cam EFI 88 and 6-speed.

Love it exactly what the 3rd person said JAMES Henderson said once you ride 1 of these older dirtbikes and then you get on a newer dirtbike you will definitely notice a huge huge difference

Thats the perfect way to put it….everything else seems dull after riding a 2 stroke 80😄👍 What else is there that compares?!😊
