    Just did the job today, Kind of a bitch but instructions were fine. This video is for the right hand side and I did the left hand side first. The top bolts on the left are even harder to get to because of the fuel tank. I used a combination of the shorty 13 mm ratchet wrench, a non ratchet short 13 mm wrench and a standard length 13 ratchet wrench. Took a while but when I went to the right side it was a breeze. Thanks again for posting this

    Привет ! Все ясно и понятно. Со своей стороны порекомендую смазать шпильки и болты графитовой смазкой. Иначе следующий ремонт может быть затруднен из-за коррозии резьбы на шпильках и болтах.

    Thank you for the video, finally did this on my 02 ML. It's not very easy working on jack stands but can be done. I did do it without removing the sway bar links. For people trying to compress the spring, I suggest you take it to a shop who will do it for you. I managed to remove one spring using the small bolt type spring compressor but was never able to install it back on the shock. The spring is heavy duty and not easy. The other easier option is to just buy a quick struct that comes with spring loaded.

    great video, used it to do the rear spring on my ML after it broke (MOT spotted it 1" at the bottom flat bit :( ). just wish I had that compressor to get the new spring on as a garage had to do that as they are so strong and my spring compressors couldn't do it.

    Confidence is one thing, but having the right tools is imperative, otherwise this ~20 minute job per side will easily be a a day of frustration and visits to the auto store. Not sure old springs should be re-used with new shocks ? Maybe better to purchase the shock and spring combo.

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Před 3 lety

      We raise the lever to its working positions, we make an imitation of a standing car on its wheels. This is necessary so that the silent block remains in its working position when we tighten it and lower the car on wheels.

    The rear springs in these cars seem to be to very stiff, meaning perhaps they could be replaced with softer ones?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Před 7 lety

      It is possible to mild the car by replacing the springs, shock absorbers and installing the softer rubber. Then, riding it will be more comfortable. But in order the car could hold the road, turn at speed well, its suspension should be stiffer. Best regards, Autodoc.
