TARAKA TRAYA | A PRAYER FOR PROTECTION | RAMA NAMA |

TARAKA TRAYA is a set of 3 verses taken from different scriptures. They are prayer to Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Mahavishnu for Protection.

अग्रतः पृष्टतः चैव पार्श्वतः महाबलौ ।
आकर्ण पूर्ण धन्वानौ रक्षेतां राम लक्ष्मणौ ॥
agrataḥ pṛṣṭhataḥ caiva pārśvataḥ mahābalau |
ākarṇa pūrṇa dhanvānau rakṣetāṃ rāma lakṣmaṇau ||
May Rama and Lakshmana, with
the strings of their bows drawn till
their ears, protect us in all the
directions.
सन्नद्दह् कवची खड्गी चाप बाण धरो युवा ।
गच्छन ममाग्रतो रामः पातु स लक्ष्मणः ॥
sannaddah kavacī khaḍgī cāpa bāṇa dharo yuvā |
gacchan mamāgrato rāmaḥ pātu sa lakṣmaṇaḥ ||
May the young Rama and Lakshmana
who are ever ready with the armour,
the divine weapons, accompany us
always and protect us from all dangers.
वनमाली गदी शार्ङ्गी शङ्खी चक्री च नन्दकी ।
श्रीमान नारायणो विष्णुः वासुदेवोभिरक्षतु ॥
vanamālī gadī śārṅgī śaṅkhī cakrī ca nandakī |
śrīmān nārāyaṇo viṣṇuḥ vasudevobhirakṣatu ||
May Lord Vishnu, Vasudeva, Narayana
who wears the garland of wild flowers,
who holds the celestial weapons and
the conch, protect us from all the dangers.
