Incredible paint jobs! That’s the style I’d like to paint my next one. By the way, 1960 snorkel hoods are rare in real life too!
Thank you Dan! Go for it, I'm always open to help if you have any questions!
They look awesome. I have been looking for one of those trucks for a while
Thank you! Same, not easy/cheap to get a hold of. Thankful for the opportunity to paint up a pair of them!
Wow, Adam! Those are crazy paint jobs. Really cool technique. They both look so cool.
Thanks for the tutorial, they both look absolutely beautiful, adam!! ✌️😁
Thank you Stephen! It was a fun challenge in the end. Can't wait to see how we finish them out.
Great job on the body work my friend!! awesome paint jobs! I love it! Thank you for sharing.
Adam thank you so much brother they both are amazing and you sir are very very talented!! Our buddy build is going to be epic and Hells Yeah I'm over the moon with mine and that purple is amazing and now I'll have to send you a model to paint purple as well I love it!! I'll look and see if I can find you those parts?❤😊
You're welcome Shawn and appreciate the trade! And look forward to seeing this pair done up! I'll do whatever it takes to get some vintage plastic! 🤪 I love all the colors and ready for more. If you can come up with them that would be great, I'll double check everything I have and again if theres something you need colored up on those two.
@sodakmodelcars awesome I'll check through all my parts and see brother
Man this is bad ass, both are nice but love the purple one .
Thank you Sir! I'm pretty partial to it too! I think the darker/more contrast helps some too.
No, the camera can't capture the real beauty. Just like having the proper lighting to view it all. Outstanding work!
@@sodakmodelcars all these great builds and paint jobs keep inspiring me to try more and do more. I have some cool things in the pipeline... But the Tinker puppies are taking up all my editing time. Plus they've been 💩 under my computer desk. One more week and they should be trained I pray!🙏
@pappytinkers Makes me so happy to hear! Best compliment I could ask for is to inspire!
Sometimes they can act like little animals! 🤪
@@sodakmodelcars I had bought some different lace patterns like 10 yrs ago. They've been sitting with my airbrush parts all this time. When I seen these trucks, I pulled them and started laying them over some cars on the bench. So thank you!
Great looking paint on both vehicles. I've been trying to figure out how to use lace to recreate what or close to what you've done. Waiting for some warmer days to give it try.
Thanks Larry! Lace is pretty simple, just lay it on, spray through it and pull it off! Lol Obviously shading edges and other things will help the look.
They both turned out great! Love the colors and mix of laces.
@@iancameron198 You can find other videos on it. Its just taking the scrap sprue and putting it in liquid cement (Like Tamiya extra thin) It will melt into a mix (can start at like 50/50 by volume anf add more sprue or cement depending on consistency you prefer)
Nice! I'll have to try doing lace masking, and I really like the BMF under clear method. I haven't had much success with their products, but perhaps I'll try again.
Thank you! It's great to hear some wanting to try something. The new BMF certainly isn't as good as the original, putting it on clear definitely helps with clean up.
Awesome, awesome work Adam. They both turned out fantastic and I love the look of both. That purple you chose for yours is super cool too.
Wow, some awesome paint work Adam. Both look killer. Bummer about the paint chipping off the foil but turned out sharp in the end.
Thanks Pat! New techniques don't always go as hoped but yes it still turned out nice!
I think this is an excellent video. This shows in order to do custom paint, you have to send it and complete the process. Otherwise, they stay in the box in boring bare plastic. Hat tip to you sir. Now put some wheels and other parts on them to make them complete.
Thank you sir, I appreciate it! Just hoping to track down the couple parts I need( Brake & washer tank and the hood inserts) and then we can get to building!
Just get some modern AMT '60 Truck parts and some MCG etch. Problem is then you need matching go-karts. 🤫
@@timkustom I already compared parts when I needed a hood. Different size inserts and totally different firewall look/parts. Just have to continue the scavenger hunt.
@@timkustom Lol I understand that, but having everything else, I'd prefer being box stock original if possible at this point.
How are you getting such detailed patterns in the paint with spray cans without the obvious difference in layers? I cant get it to lay thin enough ive been considering an airbrush setup
Cool truck,
I have a couple of vintage kits and a couple vintage rebuilders that I'm going to be getting rid of, would you be interested in them,
Thanks! Yeah potentially. Shoot me an email whenever and can take a look.
I've watched this video over and over LOL. The paint jobs on the trucks are absolutely incredible. You just gave a master class on painting! Phenomenal work! Thank you so much for sharing this incredible video.
I really appreciate that sir!
