Yay! Its so fun to see your yard transform. So many people start youtubing after they have done all the work to get it started. Its great to go along the journey with you.
This was fun to watch, and gets me inspired to get rid of some lawn this way. I like your attitude and the general vibe of this video, and the way you filmed it in fast motion with catchy music. Nice job!
Great work on the continued sheet mulching, Laura! I've done that in several places, and it works really well - except with Bermuda grass! 😖☺️ And it's so much fun seeing the flowers come to life in the spring! 😊 I'm in the same holding pattern as you when it comes to planting next to my back fence. My son is replacing it for me very soon. (He once worked building cedar fences. 😁) We got all the materials quite a while ago, but we're still waiting for the long rainy winter to end!
Thanks! I'm so glad I don't have to deal with Bermuda grass...I watch a few channels that deal with it and it seems like a real pain. The only really persistent thing I have here is morning glory but fortunately if you smother it for long enough it eventually gives up. We're in the holding pattern of saving up for a fence so cross your fingers that it doesn't fall down.
It makes me so happy to see people replacing their lawns with carbon-sequestering food plants. I can’t wait to follow and see how this turns out. Lawns > Gardens

Good job laura
...faye
Looking great!!!!
Thanks!!
construction sites are a great source of cardboard. I can get a 4x8x3' pile in no time in my trailer.
Great tip! Some friends recently moved so we got all their moving boxes so now we have enough cardboard :) Big chain stores can be good for boxes too.
