@@armada2390 Well I have a friend who lives in an HOA and he hates it. Because a lot of HOA's have strict rules that you have to follow. Like for example, the grass in people's yards, aren't allowed to grow over an inch. He had a lot going on in his life and right when he was about to get to it, the treasurer of that HOA got her son out to mow my friend's yard because on the ring video she was heard complaining that "I just can't take it anymore"
It's like, your business, becomes their business in an HOA. I remember seeing a video a few years ago where people were having their cars towed in their neighborhood, and it had something to do with the HOA was only allowing the size of a driveway large enough for one vehicle. So if you owned two vehicles, you had to park on the side of the road. Most of the residents went and sued the HOA over it.

Everyone wants everything to be easy and convenient now these days, nobody wants to help fend for themselves and work off grid together. once people realize living more natural ,working together, and connecting with one another is better than selling your soul to a job for about 40-60 years of there life just to get that “new car” or “big Mansion” just to fit in society for “social acceptance” screw that.. it’s what’s kinda screwed up with the world today and why people are so unhappy

These are actually trailers, not houses, and the reason it's hard to insure them is because if there is a fire, they burn quickly and are dangerous. This is what my insurance agent told me. A REAL tiny house would be a cottage and that would not be on wheels, not on a trailer.

Good job! And THANK YOU for telling it like it is! Every point you make is spot on! In 2017 I moved into a rented 340 sq. ft., one bedroom cottage-duplex-style unit. It was my second time downsizing and was strictly out of necessity, as rental housing is rare as golden eggs, in my county, and this was the only affordable place available for the year and a half I was looking for a place. But I decided if I'm downsizing to this degree, I would do it right. When my landlord visited after I was fully moved in, she made an assumption, saying "So you have a storage unit." I said no, if I downsize, I downsize for real. If something doesn't fit into my living space, it doesn't fit into my life. After that, when I first moved in, every female friend or family member who visited would admire the place and say 'Oooh, I could live here! Yeah, I could do this!' Many, many more women believe they can let go of their stuff, and let go of the conveniences that more space gives you, but the reality is very different. I've seen people try, and fail. That said, I make it work because I want it to work, and have learned to let go of 'stuff' so I can focus on a simpler life. I'm even considering a studio unit next. This will probably offend some folks, but if a person of an age who no longer has kids at home, and maybe is divorced/single, thinks they can make tiny life permanent, and they move, but are also paying over $1000 a year for a storage unit for all the things they or a family member 'might need' and/or that are sentimental to them ... They haven't really gone tiny. They still have emotional or mental umbilical cords to material stuff. And while that IS their choice, that's not downsizing or simplifying, and it is definitely not the 'tiny' life philosophy.

If I ever ended up alone, this house would be too much for me. At my age I'm not keen on a roommate, so a 26' tiny house should work for me. I would make sure it had an air exchanger. I also would want an
outside shed and a deck, but no rented storage unit. If I had the tiny house built for both RV and HOUSE rating, I could either park it somewhere... or bring it into a mobile home park or camp ground. My main issue would be letting go of my kitchen gadgets!

You nailed it, thank you! I have little money/ resources, am living illegally on someone's property, have to pay for storage to accommodate the tools i live by. Everything you mentioned is spot on!
I've been here 3 months, winter is cold and sloppy in here, and here's another cool fact: the wooden tent does not accommodate being sick, or old. Having flu/ covid in here is nightmarish, claustrophobic, too hot and dry in the loft, and the "tub" fits legs or torso, but not both. Not to mention cabin fever when you can't leave the box for a week...
My realization is that all those people bragging up their tiny boxes have actual homes to live in, and the box is their vainglorious attempt to be seen as some eco warrior, but just serves as a temporary overnight or a "vacation" to visit once in awhile. Those who actually live in these wooden tents actually understand "minimalism".
That doesn't make it easy or enjoyable much of the time.

I've been aboard just over a year and it's by far the best lifestyle for me. We build tiny houses, and we get asked that now and then. Usually our clients plan to keep their THOW in one spot for a couple of years, and are not planning to drive around with it like an RV. (In fact, if Jenna was able to talk about it I'm sure she would agree that these tiny houses can go through engines and transmissions if you have anything less than a 1 ton diesel truck). So if these are staying put for over a year then we typically raise them off the wheels onto concrete blocks and they won't be going anywhere. If they are staying on the wheels, we provide wheel locks that make them impossible to tow.

thats the thing. A tiny house is meant to be cheaper living, but ppl that do like this girl with it are usually well off, if not wealthy. Having a fancy truck to pull it, driving around traveling and parking in diff places is NOT a money saving affair, its the same as traveling around with a camper or RV. If your looking to live in a tiny house to truly live cheaper and simpler, you have to have it in a fixed location just like a normal house. Life is not always a bed of roses. It's always a matter of attitude. When planning for a house, may it be normal-sized, or a tiny movable one, plan it carefully many times and consider all possible related factors before pushing through with it. Know first what you want and need (focus on the needs first). Don't keep anything just for the feeling of guilt of it might be put to waste then have regrets. Some says they love their tiny houses but have so many regrets deep inside. If they have other means, sell it. Or trade it with a bigger more suitable one with a small fraction of the price. And most of all, make sure that you are fully prepared to live in a tiny house, and you are truly happy with it.

I realized some of these things already; I've been "low income" for most of my adult life, so I've always lived in small spaces. Whether it's a tiny house on a foundation, or a tiny house on wheels, I'd agree that cleaning and tidying are almost constant. I have been worried about the "where can I park" issue but hadn't thought about insurance. Lots of good points, and it's always good to know as much as possible about a big decision like this before diving in. Your honesty is very refreshing and helpful.😊

As a kid I lived in apartments that were small and it drove my mom, grandma, and I crazy. There wasn't much privacy, and one year I was sick most of the summer as my grandma had the AC on at sixty degrees all day as she was heat sensitive. Asking people to put papers into the bin placed at the side ALSO we have a notice that say "if it's yellow, then let it mellow. If its brown, then wash it down" What with this and the fact that loo paper has to go into a bin by the side of the loo which we have to empty frequently, otherwise there is a pong!!!. I also forgot, we frequently have our water rationed.

@@dianapeek6936 Pee eventually ruins toilets. You CAN flush with grey water, like from a fishtank or after dishwashing.
You might never get the stains out. You COULD use a portable urinal (even for women) and put it a jar bottle. Thin it with dump water and get rid of it. If it's thinned out, it won't hurt plants or anything. It's sterile, so you don't have to worry about that.
Can use a rag for pee. It's more effective than TP if there's a shortage. It dries easier. Can easily rinse out.
If you were very desperate for water, you could drink pee. Military teaches that if you're stuck on the ocean (can't drink salt water). Can also pee on a bar rag in a fire (Cocoanut Grove). Lol true story.
