- Yay, another Final Fantasy town theme! As some of you may know, I am planning to release an album of FF town themes on the harp. After this song, only one more to go! 🎊
Fun fact - yes, this song plays in Kalm, but some may forget it briefly plays in Junon too. Unfortunately, the soothing melody of "On Our Way" doesn't quite prepare us for the game devolving into a cataclysmic fever-dream in which Cloud must perform CPR on a child and then infiltrate a tightly guarded enemy military base on the back of a dolphin while also trying to not get electrocuted. But that isn't the worst of it - the dolphin's name is................"Mr. Dolphin."
You'd think the game would do a better job at naming its aquatic apex predators that are kind enough to not eat your protagonist and end the game right there. In fact, do we know for certain that Mr. Dolphin was not somehow in league with Sephiroth this entire time? Meteors could certainly put a damper on those dolphin shows in theme parks.

FF VII is one of those games with amazing compositions from Uematsu, but the soundfont in the original PSX version couldn’t do his melodies justice. This version from you is so beautiful!

@@Harpsibored at the time, i was only 7, he was 10. 80% of the entire game he played it since i didn't really understand much. The rest he had me just run around at one spot and level him with enough basic to kill enemies. I do recall he got the lucky 7777 with yufie fighting emerald lol.

If I was totally blind, I would imagine you are a 800 year old classical court musician from Austria!
If I was deaf, I would assume you were miming along to a really great record.
But since I have all my sense intact - I just think this person is a Muse, some sort of Cherub or Angel like creature who's Earthly form hides a Heavenly origin. Every time I hear you play that Harp, I think of clouds full of winged cherub's themselves playing little harps as your backing players.
It's an incredible talent you have, and a pristine interpretation of each and every song. If I was not already aware of miracles, then I would certainly be a believer by now. Excellent, really. Truly a miraculous talent.

Never played VII. But, like any good town theme, it just makes me feel nostalgic right away. Sad that you've only got one more town theme planned, these are amazing.
Maybe Mr. Dolphin's name just got lost in translation and he actually had a really cool name that non-Japanese never got to see.

Awesome rendition and I like the way you arranged this gem! 💎 Sweet! 🍬 I friggin hated that dolphin mini game. Maybe because I sucked at it. Seriously though, with a game that stacked they couldn't name the dolphin something better? I feel it too! Also yeah there was a few moments where they played this theme. In the icicle Inn I believe in the room with the fireplace was another time. Can't remember, it's been a while. Maybe 2 years lol and my short term memory is lacking these days. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for this wonderful arrangement, and yes, the new audio setup is superb, so you didn't waste any money on a mic (and trust me, you also didn't waste any money buying whole seasons of anime in the early 2000s; that's what we call an investment).
Also, we do know that Mr. Dolphin wasn't helping Sephiroth with one very important fact; the meteor would have boiled away the oceans, and that for sure would have left Mr. Dolphin high and dry with nowhere to go. No, I firmly believe that Mr. Dolphin had the much vaunted dolphin prescience to know that Cloud and co. would stop the meteor from boiling away the oceans, and made a calculated move to help him into Junon *and* use Priscilla to give him the Shiva summon materia.
COUNTERARGUMENT: If Mr. Dolphin was truly on Cloud's side, he would've swam his ass with Cloud up to Round Island, instead of making us do all of that incestuous chocobo breeding. Although I suppose the boiling ocean water is a good point.

@@Harpsibored Firstly, dolphins don't tend to range the world over like that, so maybe Mr. Dolphin didn't know about Round Island. Secondly, maybe Mr. Dolphin's patented Dolphin Prescience™ told him Cloud would need an army of chocobos for some reason.
Finally, your Yu Yu Hakusho DVDs aren't useless; they allow you to have an encapsulated piece of that time period, just in case the streaming services suddenly lose the show. You'll still have that piece!
