Incredible video, guys! The sheer excitement and dedication you put into that hunt are truly inspiring. The stag you harvested is absolutely stunning-definitely the ultimate trophy! The scenic shots and the family's camaraderie make this an unforgettable adventure. Keep up the amazing work!
Good to see u boys back hunting and posting again, thought youse had given the utube influencer caper away for real jobs. Enjoying ur new content in amazing country that's beyond most of our capabilities. Also good to see old Pete still able to get out there and keep pace with u boys.
A great video, Shot and Stag! Please keep doing your video's, in this same raw way as this. The reason I suggest this is, those of us that hunt, enjoy your style, without all the "Hollywood BS", that some people seem to think is necessary. Regards JB
Great shot great team work. Haven't seen a 14 for a while now. Just a mention, I usually cape my animals lying on their back starting from front left or right leg just above the hoof. Cut slide all way down stopping just before before rear legs do same on other front leg stopping opposite from other cut. The longer the better for taxidermist to work with. From there cut a full horizontal cut around the beast until the cuts meet. Finally totally skin all way back up towards the head until you decide where you want to make the final head cut. Thats my way not to say yours is wrong because the taxidermist will surely stitch cover your tracks. Just how I was taught by a taxidermist hunting mate 45 years ago still doing it today. That goes for all my animals goats pigs deer. Great video guys. Enjoy them all. Go safe.
Thanks for that. Yea we don’t really know what we are doing. But the taxidermist seems to think he would be able to make it work so that was good to hear. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Maybe these guys dont worry about meat recovery unfortunately otherwise they would've added it to the story or at least answered you. Often a big animal goes in the to hard basket which is a shame.
Yes we did take the meat from this animal but not all of it as we couldn’t carry everything. Also we don’t really show the meat butchering in any of our videos anymore as CZcams often age restricts or bans our videos that show blood and guts. It’s stupid but if this happens then nobody gets to see our videos.
That is Stag…gering 😊👍. Hope you had venison stakes for diner. The climb is impressive enough on its own with those views! Amazing. Well done. What a result! Yes boy!😂
Thanks for the video boys, a work mate of mine had been telling me of a big stag he had seen up in that area. I am pleased you got the reward for your climb up there.
No worries. Glad you enjoyed it. Bit of a shame for your mate that we got it before he had the chance. Hopefully he’s got some offspring up there that will grow to his size🤙
Just hunting for the trophy or did you guys take the meat out too? Here in Canada you have to take all the edible parts out by law, even if you have to do 2 to 3 more return trips!
In our country deer are considered a pest by the government and every year thousands are shot or poisoned by helicopters to keep numbers down. We like to take as much meat as we can carry but there are times when we don’t take the whole animal.
Awesome hunting guys, Would be great to see some emotion, high fives etc 😀 Heap of meat that's for sure, well done. Love your videos, what a life your family has. 👍👍👍
Heap of meat left behind you mean ?Did you see that they took any of the meat with them. That buck was shot so they could hang the head on a wall nothing else and I don't like it.
I'm curious about what the situation is with foreign hunters going there now because, I heard that you can no longer bring your own rifle to there to hunt anymore. Is this true and what exactly is the process for foreign hunters now?
I honestly don’t know sorry. I would have thought you could bring your own rifle as long as it isn’t a semi automatic rifle they are banned in NZ. Not sure though
Yea we usually do but they didn’t make the luggage for our flights as we didn’t intend on hunting too seriously on our holiday. Things changed slightly😅
As a North American hunter who is also a NZ resident, I appreciate that tremendous effort and risk to take that beautiful animal. I also appreciate that those deer are non native "pests" in NZ and that for years, they have been culled just to control the numbers. But here in NA, that kind of animal is a rare gift and opportunity, and to not use every gram of that meat...well its kind of difficult to fathom. Here in NA, shooting and killing is only half the hunt. Retrieving and utilizing the meat is the real work and real reward. That is what separates the men from boys and the catered to fat asses that shoot for the antlers alone. I understand the cultural differences, but its still hard to accept. I hope you went back for that meat and realize how lucky you are there. This year in Colorado, legally, I can take only 1 cow elk by rifle in a single 5 day season. That is all I'll be entitled to legally for the whole year in the state I live in, hunting with a rifle. I'll have no opportunity to hunt deer or antelope because I did not draw a license in the lottery system. To see meat like that wasted is a shame I hope you'll never realize in NZ
I hear what you are saying Peter and in your circumstances I would probably think the same as you. However it is a different situation here where deer are considered a pest. Every year thousands of deer are culled and poisoned just to keep numbers in check. Obviously we were not trying to cull numbers in this video but I suppose it gives you a bit of context to why some animals aren’t completely utilised but hunters in NZ. We did take the best cuts of meat but not the whole thing. With big old animals in hard to access places like this we do sometimes leave some of the animal. If we want a meat animal we would shoot a younger closer deer. Our preference is always to take as much meat as we can from every animal.
@@clarkeboyshunting Thanks for taking time to reply, I appreciate that. And I do appreciate the cultural/situational differences even more with your explanation. I know a govt paid hunter in NZ. I asked him about this and he echoed your comments. Thanks again.
I was wondering the same thing. Our game department lines out exactly what is required by law to take from the animal. There are a few exceptions which in my mind should change, but we’ll see if that day ever comes. You guys should get some real hunting packs and come hunt the United States. You guys would tear it up and make a joke of the rednecks who don’t venture far from the roads! The only country over here in any shape or form similar to that in NZ would probably be Alaska. Looks like some gnarly stuff!
I'm a New Zealand born native moved to the states and now resides in Utah. Watching you guys take such a beautiful animal and not utilize the meat is very annoying to US hunters just FYI we utilize every ounce of meat to justify taking the animal. Trophy hunting is really annoying to us North American hunters

How old is Pete now? He can still do what you guys do but just needs a few more breaks and goes a bit slower.@@clarkeboyshunting

To much the boys👌🏼 congrats Noah on that beast of a stag 💪🏽🦌
Letter perfect shot placement!
Tough guys got their merits.
I live in flat country, probably die on such hunting terrain.
Keep it up

Great stag. Steep terrain. Well done. Curious though where is all the meat. I just saw the head been brought down and in the car.
I was wondering the same thing
They could be just trophy hunters
@@tracer3419 yeah mostly, i bet they wouldn't waste the meat. either eat it or give it away

I suggest you guys use drones to scan for them and then you can more slow to where they located.
Yea we were lucky they decided to run up where we could see them rather than escape out of sight without us getting a chance to take a shot.

Who's bringing down the meat?
awesome strong tines did you score it ? how long and wide well done
Nah we didn’t score it. It’s only 35 inches long and got that broken tine but still a wicked trophy for us. Had plenty of age on him which was cool
do you ever use short africa type gaitors to stop snow bracken etc falling in top of boots
Yea we usually do but they didn’t make the luggage for our flights as we didn’t intend on hunting too seriously on our holiday. Things changed slightly😅
