  • In this video, I show the easiest method that I know to wrap the rope for Muay Boran Kard Chuek (คาดเชือก). You will need: 30 meters of cotton rope (15m for 1 arm) with a diameter of 5-7mm, I recommend 6mm.

    Hey I just tried punching a punching bag and I can say its not too much effective, well It does make my punches a lot lot heavier but it doesn't protect my fingers much, While I think it does protect my knuckles my fingers can still be injured because of low protection on the fingers and all the base protection is mostly knuckles But When I try to protect my lower fingers in front It hurts my hand a little and feels too tight every time, but besides that I look badass on these ropes

      I'm happy you tried it out.
      You have to change your punching style when not wearing gloves to avoid injuries, I have one video on this topic on my channel.
      You also have to regularly condition your hand and wrists. Personally I don't have problems with them.
      You can also try using a thicker rope, or change the pattern to make it more suitable for you.
      Thank you for sharing your experience 🙏

      @@GaawutProductions do you know any other patterns? cause I think I don't want to use the patterns in the video that much cause My punch isn't it is as usual I have to direct my punch with my knuckle only, Cause you know when you punch the base of your fingers and knuckles is going to be the hit point, and I did try to do my pattern alittle bit for me to be stable but it doesn't work for me and I am worried that my blood wont run through out my hand cause every time I put on the ropes my hand gets a little bit red and I feel that it is tight as hell, so if you have an new patterns or tips for this situation please tell me cause I could some of it, and besides that I like your videos I hope you make more of it regarding to muai thais I hope

      @@iamfriendly6483 It's ok if it does not work for your punching style, everyone is different.
      Keep in mind that you are the one controlling the tightness of the rope, if you think it is too tight try to be more gentle and keep the rope slightly looser when wrapping it.
      Try these two other versions, they are more complex though, but they might be ideal for you:

      Definitely! But that's the right size! You can try to use less, it will cover less of your forearm like in Muay Lopburi, or only the hand and the wrist like in Muay Chaiya. It would be easier to put the ropes on, and they would get their job done.

    • @GaawutProductions
      @GaawutProductions  Před 2 lety +3

      Choosing the right rope is important, it should not be too hard or it will hinder your blood circulation or cause abrasions to the skin when you strike.
      If you have a rope with different qualities try to change the pattern to make it suitable for you.
      Consider that my version doesn't have knots, for the knots, the rope must be easy to manipulate otherwise they can't be done, this might give you an idea of how soft it should be since it is used in more complex patterns.
      There are some Muay Boran or Muay Thai shops which sell a pack with 2 Kard Chuek ropes, you can't go wrong with them but depending on where you live the expedition costs might be high.
