- I’ve been in the mood for some nostalgia as of late, if that wasn’t obvious from the video’s released so far this year. But what to choose? I don’t know why but the Mafia series has been calling my name recently and I finally listened. It’s time to head back to the 1930’s and after all these years re-experience Tommy Angelo’s story whilst also grabbing that oh so sweet platinum trophy!

I personally enjoyed mafia 2 the most. 3 was my first experience with the mafia trilogy and I thought it was really cool how you could decide which faction controlled an area after taking it over. When the remakes came out I thought I'd give them a shot and, oh boy, they were great.
After winning the race, Tommy realizes his true passion lies in racing. The family allows him to leave the criminal element of his life behind to become a full-time racer and Tommy lives happily ever after. The end.

Also, you know Vito is a great character because people still love him despite knowing he's the one who whacked Tommy.

btw the devs intended the gunplay to feel weird in this remake because Tommy Angelo unlike the protagonists of the other games has no military background and isn't a professional shooter
Mafia Definitive Edition was a blast - one of my favorites of 2020. At least for the story; I love most of the changes they made, and the dramatic moments felt far more powerful here thanks to the newer voice acting and scene construction. Loved seeing you platinum it in one go: true gamer move right there!
Overall was fun but the modem controllers make it really bad on a PC, just annoying original was much much better on a PC.
Kicking myself it took me so long to play the remake but what a game! That story is something else!
Only 45 minutes to complete that race😮 that is real god gamer move

Ngl I hated that race so much when I played the game one tiny mistake and your fucked
It's funny, When I first tried the race with simulation driving on, I legitimately couldn't do it. 2 years later, I went back to finish the platinum and did it first try. Sometimes, it's just a matter of learning how the physics work and what lines to take or cut
100% knowing the shortcuts and how the physics works is big but for me my struggles were all in the cluster of other racers. Once I cleared them I did it in a couple of tries!
I accidentally got into the mafia games, so bit of a story, i was out with my brother buying games and we saw mafia 2 (ps3) so i looked and bought it, got home played it and OH MY GOD obsessed isnt the word

Took me hours to win that race on classic mode, such a great game/franchise tho. Loved this

Honestly you swearing at that race reminded me of my attempts at it on classic. Took about an hour, and without a joke, their taunting got to me to the point where I turned off the tv volume and listened to music 😂 finally got the plat though.

Mafia is such a fantastic game. Probably one of my favorite stories ever in a game. Kudos to you for being able to do Classic, though. I couldn't get past the damn race on that difficulty and ended up just giving up.

Tried to do this about November last year but when I got to the race I spent about 3 months on it and just couldn’t do it I’ll probably try to revisit it at some point though

I played this game for the first time maybe a year or so ago and i was blown away
I absolutely loved getting the 100% on this game it was easily one of my favorites. I must have got insanely lucky because I got the race done on my 4th try. The armored truck part was where I had the most trouble actually 😂
For me the race really only took me 3 tries... once I could break out of the clusterf... at the start. All my resets were just from being spun out by other cars! 😂
The race on classic was a nightmare had to turn around when it started to do the pile up
I recently platinumed Alan Wake 2 and it was awesome. There is a decent amount of collectibles and missable trophies tho. I'm currently playing the final draft (free new game+ dlc) and I am enjoying the changes it brings.
I've heard Alan Wake 2 is a great game, I'd like to play it sometime soon!
That race really made me give up on the classic playthrough, I just couldn’t do it but I’ll probably go back and try it again for some reason.
It really is the platinum gatekeeper, I've heard many people say the same but I believe you can do it!
I played Mafia for the first time a couple years ago and instantly loved it. The Plat is def on my list.
Highly recommend it mate, collectibles are meh but the rest is amazing!

The worst part about my platinum playthrough for this game was that i played it on normal difficulty at release and somehow the classic difficulty race trophy was bugged for me and popped on my first playthrough, so now when i grinded through that race which imo is worse than the original race from 2002 i didn't even get rewarded with a trophy this time and my heart which was at it's limit from the stress of this race stopped for a second because i thought the trophy didn't pop and i have to do it again 😂

Yeah you can really cut down your time doing it in one playthrough and just depending on your luck/skill on the race!

The race in the hard mode is challenging but with a lot of practice and time I’m able to pass it.
Yeah it's just about learning the track and how to control the car efficiently
I wasn't joking when I told you I wanted you to Platinum Power Wash Simulator and Lawnmower Simulator. I absolutely loved Power Wash Simulator, and I'll be honest I wanted to torture you with Lawnmower Simulator's Platinum. But I'd still like to see you do Platinum Runs for these games.

they made the race easier in the remaster than the original, that's probably where the disconnect is
absolutely love this game though, the interview style storytelling they do in these games is great
A lot easier, I remember being stuck on that race in the original for hours! Story is phenomenal though
The race took me about 15 hours on and off for like 2 weeks.
Gutted we still haven't got a 60fps patch. Surely it'd be possible on PS5 😢
You'd think so but PlayStation don't care about that sort of stuff. You'd think Bloodborne would've gotten a 60 fps upgrade too!
100% agree this game should not be a 6/10 difficulty, while classic difficulty and the race can be annoying at times, it's really not that bad, anyone who has ever played a racing sim (Forza, Gran Turismo) will be able to complete it in a couple tries, its wayyy overblown lol
Yeah once I got out of the pack in the beginning and nailed down the driving physics (mainly avoiding hard breaks) it was pretty straightforward
There's a trick to the race, use the drift button

It feels more luck based than anything, I struggled mainly when you're apart of the herd but once I separated it was smooth!
I finished the race on classic first time
I had to take a week off of this game due to the race in Chapter 4... It was pure misery for me.... Great platinum! Good luck for you Bear

I've heard a bunch of rumors for Mafia 4. Prequel with Capone, game set inbetween 2 and 3 with Vito. Just give me another Mafia game and I'm happy!

God help you for mafia 3 that game has on the of the buggiest trophies that makes you start a new game if you close the game or crash which mafia 3 is prone to doing

How are the checkpoints? I platinumed mafia 2 this past week and found the checkpoints a bit unforgiving
I found they're pretty fair, not too much backtracking on failed attempts

@@gntpapi The race itself is easy, the rage moments are literally just from being stuck on the first few corners with the cluster of other racers. Once I actually got past that point it is surprisingly simple!
Returnal is a great platinum with only a few annoying collectibles.

Also the collectibles are so fucking ridiculous there is no reason for there to be this many collectibles
