The king of stupidly massive scenery is BACK ladies and gentlemen and today we officially kick off an absolutely massive build of the most famous location in all of Warhammer, the Imperial Palace on Terra from the grimdark universe of Warhammer 30000. This build is going to be an absolute monster, and I have actually already been working on it in disguise for well over a year. In today’s video we’re going to explore how on earth I’m going to tackle such a massive behemoth of a build, look at some of the techniques we have at our disposal and give you guys an update on all the progress so far, as well as the plan moving forwards. So without further ado let’s begin the biggest build in the history of Zorpazorp. Well for now at least.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate it's a real challenge, and I used to struggle with it alot, but oddly enough in this palace series I've sort of discovered along with you guys that building in chunks that makes for good quality videos with a nice level of satisfaction and completion is mega hitting my own dopamine receptors and the completionist buzz of hitting really visual milestones is actually helping me stay motivated. It doesn't always work out that way and it's a tricky juggle but all part of the job haha!

I find it hilariously ironic that you're constantly crafting with insulation foam, but can't work in your studio because it's uninsulated! Maybe your next step should be to line your walls with carved palace ramparts ti serve as an epic backdrop and keep you a bit warmer!
I know right hahahahahaha, it's such a big studio it would cost so much cash to insulate, I'm looking at the costs at the moment but I just odn't think it's in the budget this year sadly.

Looks so good! Just missing tubes/cables and metal reinforcement/trim... And maybe more skulls/eagles+cogs (to be time accurate?) Lots of antenna, and the mentioned banners will do good, for sure!

Every time the creativity on display just astonishes me. Painting up a little plastic mini is difficult enough but at least the design has been made for you but this is literally making it all from scratch.

Stunning work combining the plastic kits with foam structures. As pretty as it is, though, I can't help but feel like the verticality of this part is going to make it very impractical to play on.

Maybe keep the tower removable and have a place you can integrate it into a lower section of the board? That way you can have the full glorious centrepiece when you have the room for it but it doesn't go to waste when you're constrained by a lower ceiling
You need a mega balcony for the emperor and the primarchs to stand on on the big tower

Wow, the build is absolutely stunning but not as great as your drive and persistence to make it a reality! I don't see an almighty Imperial Palace (of course I do 😉), I see your devotion and love for the hobby. Thank you for embarking on this journey and sharing it with us.
I hope there will be more color in there. Maybe some rusted pipes? Some warm leds as light sources? This is a (relatively) technologically advanced setting. I'm sure they know about paint "technology"... And I'm not saying it should be filled with saturated colors everywhere, but a little chipped paint here and there would probably make it pop a bit more. some yellow/black stripes on the generators, maybe golden framing on the windows of the church-like building, even a bit of dull green(or other color) here and there to simulate a bit of lichen growth of some sort etc
In any case it's such a spectacular achievement as is anyway. So impressive!

Nice trick with those high up doors opening onto huge drops is hand rails made from car mesh cut into strips similar to using wider grided wire for 28mm model terrain hand rails.. (also hjand rails give an excuse for a splash of colour.
Inspiring! I've made some pretty huge scenery... but it doesn't compare to this. My number one dream project is to build a crashed Imperial ship. 40k scale that's basically impossible because it would still be about 100m long..... at epic scale its a bit more doable, but still so big you could only get a small portion of the ship on a standard table, even with some of the smaller warships. 40k scale really is just absurd and I love it. I've never seen anyone capture its scale as well as you have.
Oh my god, the last tier of that tower is fine! But in my mind it reaLly is the perfect place for the "Bell of lost souls". Because lets be honest, this is slowly turning into the Tower of Heroes...

The Imperial palace is looking suitably epic Lochie. That tower is a thing of beauty, with all its gothic arches and flying buttresses. I am so looking forward to the next additions and the final reveal. Then will come an epic scale Armegeddon game I suspect. I hope there will be a video of that game as well.

Maybe put in some landing pads for vehicles, some comm towers or storage. Since the place is a lot of stone and walls, making vehicle access would make a lot of sense.
