    Have gone back to this video again and again these last few months. Very informative. Very helpful. Sometimes your voice fades so I think you have a tendency to be soft spoken :). But one of the best, if not the best step-by-step walkthroughs for making a divergent Likert scale. 'Appreciate the fact that it brings together all the arguments on how best to visualize this kind of data. Thank you very much! :)

      Thank you, yes my microphone wasn't that great on some of my earlier videos, and I am also not a naturally loud talker.
      But glad it has helped, thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.

    I found this to be one of your best walk throughs. Well communicated for all the whys and hows. I have not built NPS survey responses from scratch before as when I have needed them they have been available through the base application. Understanding the technique you applied has been really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.

    Thank you for sharing! On the last method, I could not get my % at the bottom to start with 0. I also only had negative, unsure, and positive.

    This works great for me so thanks as I was have been struggling with this for a while. However, is there a way of adding slicers to these graphs to make them dynamic? When I do this it shows the %’s as the proportion of the Question dataset, as opposed to filtered population. E.g. on yours ‘Quality - I think the product will not last for several years’ is out of 100% and shows 87% positive but a slicer may half the population and therefore somewhere around half the 87%, as opposed to show what the sub-population responding to the survey. Hopefully this makes sense.

      Hi, same question. I want to add a slicer for Gender. The idea is that if I select a particular Gender, the data should still be 100% stacked, so that I can understand how a particular gender has responded to the survey. Is there a solution for this?

    Nice to hear a fellow NI accent on a PBI tutorial @Gerald Duggan! Great video - am using it for Employee Leaver survey analysis. I need to slice by a number of dimensions - is there any disadvantage to using something like ALL(Survey[Likert Rating]) to get the %, rather than ALLEXCEPT?

    • @dganalysis
      @dganalysis  Před rokem +1

      Hi Holly, never sure how a full NI accent would go down on CZcams, so it's maybe a little lighter than the real version!
      I'll need to go back and check this as it has been a while, I think I recall I used allexcept for a reason, may have been to do with ranking and that values are split from low ratings to high ratings.
      If you get to try first, let me know.
      I will have a new video out this week on creating dynamic kpi cards using a native line chart, first video in about 6 months.

      Also, I forgot I did a write up on this project ( dg-analysis.com/2022/05/31/net-promoter-score-and-likert-scale-visuals-in-power-bi-maven-airlines/ ). The reason I used ALLEXCEPT is that I had an (un)pivoted table. Hope this helps.

      @@dganalysis thanks a million for this! Interesting use case for ALLEXCEPT vs ALL. Really useful to read your blog explaining decisions. My data model is a little different from yours ( currently im excluding survey responses from anyone still in their notice period) and my report needs slicers for various dimensions. Given me some food for thought here about restructuring my model.

    Great video. What is the reasoning for displaying neutral positive and neutral negative on the first example as this is showing the same datapoint twice; is this purely an aesthetics thing or is there something more going on?

    • @dganalysis
      @dganalysis  Před 8 měsíci +1

      The neutral value was divided by 2. This way half can be shown as a positive value and half as a negative value

    Hi there- really useful video. I'm stuck at 16:10. I don't understand where the key measures table has come from since it isn't in your power Query Editor. How did you create this?

    • @dganalysis
      @dganalysis  Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks Rachel,
      The "Key Measures" table is an artifical table. I just created it as a place to store any DAX measure I created. It is kind of best/standard practise.
      You can create a table like this by selecting "new table", then typing 'Key Measures = {0}'

    • @dganalysis
      @dganalysis  Před rokem +1

      To create a "Key Measures" table, go to the "Modeling" ribbon tab, then select "New table".
      For the New Table, type "Key Measures = {0}".
      This will create a new disconnected table called "Key Measures", and you can use this to create and store all your calculated measures. It is a useful way to organise your work.

    Hi! I am having difficulty at 31:54 where you start to create the visual. I keep getting various messages that say "MdxScript(Model) (12, 53) Calculation error measure "key Measures'[Negative count]: Function 'Containsrow' does not support comparing values of type inteer with values of type text. Consider using the VALUE or FORMAT function to convert one of the values."
    I have gone back into the query and have tried to change the data type from text to integer but nothing is working! :( Please advise if you have some time!
