How To Frame a Sports Jersey For Under $30!! Cheap and Easy Framing Method In Under 5 Minutes!

- Here is how to frame a sports jersey for approximately $30! This was extremely inexpensive and very simply to do, and was quick as well! I framed my autographed Michael Thomas football jersey, but this should work with any sports jersey that you want framed and looking great! You will need the following to frame your sports jersey:
-1 shadowbox frame, purchased from a hobby store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby (mine was $25 from Hobby Lobby, This frame I used was a 16" x 20" Frame (Length by Height))
-1 piece of cardboard that will fit inside of the frame, with a little wiggle room for the jersey
-The sports Jersey (obviously)
- A tape measurer may be beneficial if you want to be exact!
Besides that, the video should explain the rest! I'm very content with how great this cheap framing looks, and presents the Michael Thomas Jersey VERY nicely! Definitely will be doing this cheap sports jersey framing method in the future, I hope this works for you as well!

Solid video man, been looking to frame some jerseys and you make it look super easy. I can't wait to try! Thanks dude!
If you go this route, it definitely is pretty painless! Pretty cost effective way to showcase them for sure. Happy to help!
Just bought a signed Mike Gesicki jersey and I remembered you made this video, Thanks!
Awesome!! I just got an Allen lazard auto'd jersey that I need to frame up as well!
Thanks for the idea.
Brilliant! Great idea and it looks great too! Very cool video! Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for watching, Bryan! I think it looks pretty good! Did it to a few jerseys I have
Ah, this is brilliant! My only full-sized memorabilia is a little different (it's a full three piece set of pro wrestling gear), but this gives me a good starting point for finally framing it up.
Best of luck man! Yeah it was definitely super easy haha and I was happy with it!
Nice tips!! Sick Thomas jersey! Looks great in the frame!
Agreed!
Simple and brilliant!
I hope it helps you!
I follow you for sports card and just decided to buy my first signed jersey, you’re a lifesaver for this vid! Keep up the great content!
Appreciate that!! And good luck with the frame👍 great low cost option!
Hey bud you are amazing guy I will absolutely stand behind I’ve never in watching my CZcams days had anyone responded to a message that I posted and you did that is so amazing to me I will support your videos as long as u do your amazing work you rock bud even though I’m a pats fan and u r a Vikings fan
That makes me happy to hear!! That's one of my main goals, and a reason why I make videos - I love staying connected with the community!! And hey, you gotta save some super bowls for the rest of us!! Just one would be nice for the Vikings hahah
Love the content keep up the good work u got me back into cards with 6 year old son making memories
Great to hear that!! Thank you so much, Richard! Start 'em young!!
Thanks for the vid, definitely helpful and I know not to use scissors when cutting the card board👍🏻
Yeah I'd definitely go with the box cutter next time haha
I gotta say again that is a beautiful Michael Thomas Jersey! You just have me an idea to get my Colts jersey framed. Awesome!
Thanks for watching man, I hope it helped!
Nice tip man. Love the look too
Definitely looks good on my wall! haha
Add the JSA COA in the bottoms corner too! Looks good man! High-five from California ✋🏼
Thank you Daniel! High Five!!
Good idea! I tried this on a hockey jersey I got. I had to go with a slightly larger shadow box but overall it saved me well over $100
That’s awesome Patrick!! Which player, if ya don’t mind me asking? Always love knowing!
@@Vikings95 Chris Kreider, NY Rangers!
@@smudge4481 Very Cool!!
This is actually fire and easy I’m doing this!
Super easy! and pretty cheap too thankfully
I saw the original upload popup a couple days ago. Now i can finally watch it
Lol yes you can!! that was a mistake on my end haha
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. Have you ever had any issues with the signature sticking to the glass?
I need to head to hobby lobby! My Bucks 🦌 Jeresy ready for display! 😁💯 Thanks,🥰
Awesome!! I hope this helped!
Cool video idea thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the great idea
I hope it helps!
Thank you so much. Gonna use this on my signed Parsons jersey
That's an awesome jersey to get framed, nice!!
I need to get one of these. I have a Charley Taylor jersey thats been in the closet in a bag for probably a year lol it deserves better
For sure! That definitely deserves a frame haha
Thanks for the tip! I have a jersey signed by the purple people eaters. Your video was definitely a big help! SKOL
Definitely gotta frame that up!!
Asesome vid. Ive been wanting to do this to a couple of jerseys.
Thanks so much man! Honestly I was shocked how easy it went, will definitely be framing more as I get them
that's an awesomely cool DIY project.may get one of those and put my most valuable cards in it.did'nt know Hobby Lobby sold those.the ones I visit do sell display cases and some even came with baseball cards
That would be an awesome idea too! I might have to get more lol
@@Vikings95 hopefully you find one.I'd like to see a video on that.
Danke für den Tipp 👍
I hope it helped!
Thanks for the tip!!!!!!!!!!
Best of luck with it!!
Great idea
Thank you!
Doing this for my Carr Jersey, he was my QB during the best time of my life as a teenager in highschool, even helped bring us to the playoffs, and now it looks like his career going downhill, idk what will happen but i can’t wait to do this anyway and hopefully get it signed
That’s awesome!! He really is a stud, I hated seeing him get taken out with that groin injury but should be back in a week or two! Raiders are definitely an up and coming team!
Carr is def not going downhill....a lot of QBs don't hit greatness until their 30's. Carr is just getting started.
He is not going downhill bro ! He is elite
Ehhhh he is ok
Awesome!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video! Helped me frame my signed deebo Samuel
That’s awesome!! I’m glad it helped, I bet that looks great! Deebo is a beast!
Bang bang Niner gang
Thanks for this brother just saved me a LOT of money
My pleasure!! I think it looks solid for a fairly inexpensive price!
@@Vikings95 absolutely mate!
Great tutorial!!! I don't know if ya shoulda told everyone you were gonna play with IT though!!! Lol 😂🤣😂
Don't take my words out of context!! hahaha but thank you Jason!
Good video!! I made one for my-self and save $$$
Awesome!!
Awesome vid going to do this with my metcalf
Nice!! Sounds like an awesome jersey!
I’m watching some of the scary videos I’m laughing so hard
I know this vid a bit older, but as a regular viewer and updated statement. Hobby Lobby did have these in my local store today like 4 16x20 shadow boxes. I think they're back and rn shadow boxes and frames are 50% off there
I actually got a similar one this past weekend for a New Jersey I got! I didn’t see the exact frames I had previously, but yes it was 50% off too. I think it’s always 50% off, every time I’ve bought them it has been 😂
@@Vikings95 they say they rotate their categories for sale but yes its typically long time. Regardless I got 3 16x20's for roughly $57 and normally it would cost $114 (with taxes included). But yeah not bad 👍
Just got a Jack Ham HOF signed jersey that I am looking to frame!
Love it
Thank you Yong!
Hey Youngling 👋 this was recommended
This is my top performing video.. and it isn't even card related! lol
Dude thank you so much lol
I hope this helped!
How did I miss this video?! Now I have no reason to pass on a couple jerseys I want lol
I'm not sure! it was a while back haha
Couldn’t find this exact shadow box frame at hobby lobby for some reason. Only one I found was just like that but not as deep with the hinges.
I actually had the same issue.. I think they might have gotten rid of it sadly.. I'd definitely be disappointed if that's true haha
Would this work with an XL Trent McDuffie jersey? Or should I get a bigger frame (reason I ask is because the name on the back is a little longer and of course the jersey is bigger than most)
Do you know where to get those front loading shadow boxes currently. Michaels only has ones that you have to put in from the back and it isn't as easy.
I got them at Hobby lobby, but I’m not sure they make them anymore sadly
Nice vid! Great affordable solution compared to the Jersey frames at twice the price.
Agreed! Not as fancy as it can be, but a great cost-effective display!
@@Vikings95 nah, this looks good and saves wall space by comparison. I need to frame my Emmitt, Novacek, and Coach Klein jerseys.
@@Vikings95 finally got my three jerseys framed and hung in the living room. I got my supplies at Michael’s, and found they had 16x20 cardboard pieces precut that fit perfectly in the jerseys and then into the frames. Got 3 frames and cardboard for about $90 all said and done. No complaining here compared to a larger jersey frame.
What size shadow box did you use? I have a signed Jason Witten and Tony Dorsett jersey that I’d like to mount this way.
It’s a 16x20 shadow box I believe! I know the dimensions are in the description as well. I have heard that hobby lobby might have discontinued the hinged version sadly
Can you suggest the depth of the shadowbox I should buy when framing a football jersey?
The boxes I have are only a few inches deep. I believe I had the dimensions in the video description!
How did you hang it? Did you use command picture hanging strips?
We used nails! Although some of the heavy duty command strips may be able to hold it
I would go bigger shadow box so you can actually tell it’s a jersey and a much better look
There are definitely different ways to go about doing it, yes! The bigger shadow boxes with the full jersey layout take up more space, so can't fit as many on a wall. and add a bit of cost, but may look nicer! To each their own, but thank you for watching!
What are the dimensions of the shadow box? Looks like a decent way to display Jerseys of player you dont want to spend top money on framing. Comparison would be my Sammy Watkins vs my Patrick Mahomes or Steve largent. Thanks bro!
I believe I put all the info of the shadowbox in the description! I couldn't link anything since I got it at hobby lobby, but the size should be all you need. Agreed, super easy and inexpensive way to frame some jerseys! Thanks for watching, Jeff!
So Sam, do you think you'll keep that jersey or use it as trade bait to try and get one of your PC guys?
Thanks for sharing!
See you next rip!
🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈
I'm thinking of keeping this one! It's a piece of history!! Looks great on the wall! haha
Hey great vid can you find a link for the frame i’m looking everywhere and can’t find it
I couldn’t find many online, but hobby lobby is where I purchased mine! I’d think most hobby supply stores would have them. Hobby lobby in particular has coupons online always as well!
great vid i just want 2 let u know that is a alvin kamara relic card worth anything
It may be, depending on brand, condition and year!
@@Vikings95 2019 prestige condition gret
Awesome video! I tried finding a 16 x 20 shadow box on the hobby lobby app for 25 bucks but they start at like 60 :(
If you get them in store, they usually have a "40% off one item" or something as a coupon online that you can use! I actually found one on sale in store for $15 and framed up another jersey!
Vikings95 Wow, nice! I’ll make a trip over there soon, thanks for the help!
Thanks for watching, Joey!
@@joeyhernandez5078 You can get them on Michaels for like $22 right now
What size shadow box was it?
16" Length by 20" Height!
What size frame is this as I am looking to do something with an everton football shirt
16" x 20" if I remember correctly! I put it in the description as well I believe
@@Vikings95 cheers thanks
What size Shadow box did you buy
I believe I had it in the description, I can’t remember off the top of my head!
Hey mate, what size shadow box did you buy for the jersey?
16x20 If I remember right. It’s definitely in the video description!
@@Vikings95 Thanks mate. Love this!
What size jersey? I have a jersey that I want to frame, but I think it’s too large for a shadow box. Thanks
I believe this was an Xl or 2xl? I can’t exactly remember, but I’d think it would still fit When it’s folded over and such! I’m not sure the number stitching would change in size? But I could be wrong
Vikings95 I have a Tony Dorsett jersey. The size is a 3XL. I have one of the large boxes but it’s just too heavy. I will look into a 18 x 24 shadow box and see if that works. Thanks
Nice to see someone using left handed scissors
hahah lefty here!
Yes thank you
These places are charging 250,350+ like what🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
right?! that's crazy!
What size did you cut the cardboard?
Just slightly smaller than the opening!
I like this idea, running out of wall space.
Definitely keeps the jerseys a little bit more compact than some other frames! I've got 3 on my wall right now, and room for at least 5 more to be added! lol
Where did you get the Frame
Hobby Lobby!
Love it is there an link for where you got the shadow box? Or one that’s just like it?
I got it at Hobby Lobby - but I tried to be as descriptive as possible in the description! Hopefully the size should be enough if you were to find one online or in store!
Is there any way how to protect the autograph from the glass??
What do you mean? I guess I’m confused! Haha
@@Vikings95 Without UV protection your autograph will fade over time
. Its touching the glass. can i protect it from the sunlight or the glass? somehow
What size is this?
I love that Thomas Jersey🥵. I got a question though. If the Saints had beaten the Vikings in the playoff games we lost to the Vikings would you have framed a Saints Jersey😂
I mean.. probably? Haha Thomas is one of the best receivers I’ve seen play the game! Gotta respect the greats haha but yes, I was SO PUMPED with the Minneapolis miracle😂
@@Vikings95 I was so shocked I just froze up and then started crying
what size shadow box and what size is the jersey?
I believe it was in the description! It was a normal sized jersey (Probably an XL if I had to guess?), and I believe the shadowbox was 16x20, but let me check!
Yup, 16"x20"!
@@Vikings95 Ok thank you so much
what size should i get the frame?
Mine was 16”x20”!
Do you know the depth dimensions?
Hey man, do you know the dimensions on the box? I’m looking for one but I don’t know what size to get.
I believe it was a 16" x 20" Frame (Length by Height)
Ok thanks.
Is the Michael jersey size xl?
@@bearcircusnotjaims2109 I think so!
Oh I see your arts and crafts skills are about as good as Owen The Cats!
Pretty much! lol
How deep does the shadow box need to be?
I think around 2-4 inches is fine
@@Vikings95 would 1.33 be bad for the jersey?
whats the dimensions of the shadow box
I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I know I put it in the video description!
Vikings95 ok got it, thanks!
What size is the frame buddy ?
In the video description, and many other comments! I believe it is 16"x20" if I remember correctly
What size is the jersey
I believe it was an XL
@@Vikings95 thats what I thought was the standard size. Thx. 😏
I was wondering the same thing 😏
This is funny I just won a slayton auto jersey off eBay for 25 bucks lol
That’s awesome man!
How much did you get that jersey for?
I actually got it in a football subscription box called "All About The Hobby". Was very excited when I got it! The box was $125 total, with football packs and other stuff as well.
Vikings95 ah that’s cool, so do you get new things like every month
That one varies in price from month to month, and some are mixed sports and such, I’m waiting for another football only one haha
Found a 6 pack for 120 on michaels
Of frames?! That's amazing!!
Or get a poster board from Walmart for like $11 bucks ish and if you have empty space you can put up like signed cards , print pics etc
Very true! Definitely an alternative method!
Does nobody read the comments? Every third question is what size is the shadow box?
Pretty much.. and it's even in the description too! lol
Well I'll make sure I won't send you OJ. Heaven forbid he's been framed enough!!
Oh jeez hahaha
you are right. His jersey belongs in the trash with the other jerseys who committed double murder.
I've seen accusations on various channels that allaboutthehobby juice their box for big time youtubers and the rest of us just get crappy boxes worth less than $40 of junk packs. What is your response to those accusation?
Good question! I've heard some comments also say they got some good stuff, and they aren't youtubers! the person who got the derrick Henry auto'd jersey isn't a youtuber or a big profile person in the card collecting community, so I think I may have been lucky, and that it's a solid product! But that's my take - I hope I didn't get sent a loaded pack. I don't mention my username in orders, so they just see my personal info!
@@Vikings95 I have to apologize to Allaboutthehobby publicly and let all the viewer know that I just got an awesome box and I'm not a big CZcamsr. It came with Daniel Jones auto Jersey
Nick Bosa SSP jersey card
No autos but got Gurley RC and Melvin Gordon patch Jersey. Overall awesome box. Please keep up the great product. Allaboutthehobby. I still wish though they respond to their customers more frequently.
@@georgelee4367 That's awesome man! congrats on those hits!
Go to Michaels! A great store to get Frames for Helmets, Jerseys, and even footballs.
I’ve heard that as well! Hobby lobby is just closer for me haha
@@Vikings95 I am buying 2 frames and I get 4 for free
That’s awesome!
That frame is $59.99 now BTW
Usually there's a 1/2 off coupon or something for hobby lobby, but I'm not surprised that it's gone up in price since this video is a few years old
Bigbrain95
Huh? lol
I like pizza
Same!
first
Yes you were!
You can’t really be serious lmaooo that looks horrible. Quit being cheap and go get it professionally done with UV protected glass for $350. That’s how you destroy a jersey
I’d have to disagree with you, but to each his own! Most people don’t have a spare $350 just to frame a jersey, so this is the less expensive alternative in my opinion!
