- Rwenzori: The Source of Life depicts the expedition of His Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV and a team of mountaineers to Margherita Peak (5,109m), the summit of the Rwenzori Mountains and the highest point of Uganda.
This documentary short film is a joint initiative by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and Tooro Kingdom to advocate for climate action, inclusive growth and sustainable tourism in Uganda’s biodiverse and breathtaking Rwenzori Mountains. It highlights the urgent need for climate action, restoration and conservation of fragile mountain ecosystems whose health is critical for Uganda and Africa's prosperity.
The film was produced and directed by UNDP and UTB, and funded by UNDP.
