She kinda feels like the opposite of when symmetra was a support, since she was all utility and no healing, while illari has pretty much no utility for mainly healing.

Can you try and mythbust, as to whether the AOE damage of Sunstruck is applied only to other target, or does the 120 damage applies to the person as well?
This hero has TWO abilities that I've always wanted in Overwatch:
- A mercy healing stream that requires aim and heals faster.
- A healing turret that requires tactical positioning rather than aim.
It’s just Furia and a couple others from Paladins. She isn’t that unique.

That captive sun ultimate is definitely the most damage inducing one for any support. It's a little weird to feel like I need consider ulting as an opposing support to counter a healer ultimate. Dying to her feels a little like dying to Sojourn.
It’s like Nano in its usefulness, but it doesn’t rely as much on your teammate being competent
What's interesting is that this is the only support ultimate that is completely offensive. All the other support ultimates affects healing/health pool in some way.
@@toffi2390 The only supportive aspect of it is that it enables your team to kill people way quicker in a time frame with the debuff. I was surprised they didn’t make the ult have a secondary effect when it hits teammates like buff them up or heal somehow. But to be fair that would have made her ult completely broken unless they tuned the damage down.
But its crazy seeing a support that has potential to teamwipe on their own in any circumstances, given the next closest thing is Valk which is nowhere near the same damage potential.
it's a skill based ult at the least. having to land them, and then further having to follow up with the ult to get its full value
I like how every game that involves a light based character always ends up having some kind of skill that marks an enemy.

So what happens if she hits opponents with her ultimate and Echo who transforms into her hits the opponents with essentially same ultimate. Does it stack? Does it start the sun mark over?

Can you make a support healing heal-off? something like comparing who has the best burst heal for single target, sustained, whole team and what sources of damage they can out-heal (mainly so that new players learn not to target a DPS being pocketed)
i would love this video so people could finally stop calling mercy a main healer despite being outhealed by most of the support cast

As someone who plays MOBAs (and misses when OW was much more of that style in terms of team-play), some of these new abilities SEEM amazing, haven't had the chance to play yet myself. Even if the new season/side content doesn't end up being the best, this new hero certainly seems like one of their high points so far.
Definitely not a high point, she is busted. The healing turret is crazy strong on defense, her weapon is pretty much equal to Mei's (just slightly weaker + Illari is tiny, her hit box is similar to Ana), her ultimate has auto-aim, etc.. I've seem matches were this character healed more than a Mercy and Kiriko, this is just not right, not balanced at all
@@RRRRRRRRR33she isnt necesarrily op asf like og roadhog lol but she def needs a slight nerf to her heals. If you don't have an Illari on your team it feels like a big handicap and tbh the main counters for her healing pylon/Ult aka Genji and sombra are easily countered back if you have Winston as a tank. Literally only need a Winston, Symetra, and Illari. If its payload on attack you'll almost never lose the pylon. Place everything on the payload and you have a mobile vehicle that has; shield, heals, and damage if anyone gets close enough to destroy her pylon. Plus you get pylon back every 7 sec so if shield breaks you place it behind the payload.
@@Theredmeep852 Yeah, there was worse examples in the past, day 1 Brigitte will forever be a traumatic event (and Jeff allowed that abomination to be a thing, tbh I will never understand why the community still give him a pass). Saying that, the character literally needs to be toned down at every level, it's basically the reverse of what happened with Lifeweaver (and he remains a very weird design, out of place in this chaotic 5v5 formula). Her heashot needs to be weaker, the pylon needs a nerf, the ultimate needs to be reworked. She should shoot those sun orbs at her own team, the explosion adds extra healing or something. It's baffling to me how the devs removed that special server... I forgot the name, people could test things early and give feedback, looking at the actual results of characters being released with no QA whatsoever, I guess Blizzard really needed those beta testers (paid consumers acting as testers, it's just wonderful, Overwatch is a wonder of the industry)

I've said I wanted Sym to go back to Support with Healing turrents like 2 years ago. Glad they actualized this idea into something else.
Sym was a support in the last OW1 experimental patch.

@@sitruunamehuI'd say a bit underpowered on the damage. She needs either higher range or a bit more damage or quicker charge. If you don't have anyone to protect you, you will die. She plays midrange, that's why I say that. That's my opinion though

hi karq, love the video. for the mythbusting, I was wondering if you could teleport the pylon through sym tp and if it retains momentum through the tp? Does the pylon target other deployables like turrets or bob?
I have a strong feeling turrets don’t get healed. Which is a shame. Would be cool if supports could heal those like they can with BOB

So much fun🤗 I'm going to love having to dive the enemy team just to destroy her turret, and even better, I'm gonna love it whenever I'm on the enemy team, completely diff the Reinhart's HP, say "he's low! He's low" and two seconds later, he gets 240 HP back🤗 better yet, in 3 he gets 360🤗 assuming the turret isn't healing him 🤗and the best part- whenever I'm on her team as a dps, I'm never going to get healed bc she's gonna be dpsing all the time and babysitting tank🤗 seems like hell to play against as a tank and seems like hell to play with if theyre in your team

One tbing I havent seen you mention is that Outbursts distance is controlled by how far you hold the key/button. Stay still and tap it you dont go very high at all, but try holding the button down

What happens to the Healing Pylon if Illari is killed? If it stays while shes dead, how does the cooldown work if it's destroyed and she respawns?
Probably works like a symmetra turret, or torn turret where it stays up independent of their deaths.
Edit: Cooldowns normally reset when something is destroyed while dead so that you can have it on respawn
It stays when she dies. If someone breaks it, it's a long cooldown. If she dismantled it herself, you get no cooldown
Question/Mythbuster: can the healing pylon be placed on a payload or push bot/wall?
On a payload it can be placed but not so sure about the bot/wall
worth mentioning her melee is a swing of her gun like a blade
it has no gameplay differences from other melees but it makes melee kills way more satisfying

She’s honestly so much fun to play. Hard to say if she’s gonna get buffed or nerfed but we’ll see. I will say I have a hard time describing what she plays like. She’s like a weird combination of Bap, Sym, and Souj.

I think she is insanely strong in her use cases but I found that she’s quite difficult to play with a mobile team comp, especially mobile tanks like doom and ball because they’re usually never close enough to you for you to heal them. She also feels slightly odd because her weapon encourages you to play with a decent amount of range between you and the enemy but her heal encourages you to play close range
@hakseuu As a ball main. I like her, I'll mostly live off heals on the map anyway and the Healer shouldn't really be focusing on the ball. If I need a heal, I'll come back to you, the beam means I'll get healed really quickly, or the pylon means I can just whip past and get healed without the healer having to commit to me. But I can see how it would be hard with dive characters that aren't managing there cool downs or rotations.
@@hakseuu I agree about the weapon but it’s still crazy with the 2 hit headshot. My big problem is with her turret. It heals way too much for what it is. The frequency at which you get healed is way to much. I looked it up and it heals 40 health every 0.8 seconds, which means 50 health every second. That’s wild, that’s pretty much another healer on your team if it’s not destroyed. I don’t know in what way they would nerf it. Maybe lowering the healing frequency, lowering the amount or maybe put it on a timer like a sym tp. I do know it should 100% be destroyed if she dies and be on a long cool down. It has so much value and they gotta fix because it’s op as hell rn.
@@trav8787 she’s great but her turret is a big problem imo. Literally heals 50 a second, has 150 health, has infinite up time, and it won’t be destroyed if she dies. Its literally a 3rd healer. If they don’t fix it she’s got pubstomp every game and make her a must pick. Especially for CP and Escort maps. Her gun could use some tweaks but it’s not that bad.

I don’t know about fun though, she lacks flow between between her abilities. Can’t charge primary while healing, slow execution of almost every ability and honestly if you can’t eat her ult as dva cause it’s so bright and the hero Illari is glowing… Well just stop playing dva and go back to fortnite.

Nah she is definitely over tuned, insane dmg, insane healing (turret is literally a 3rd healer), insane ult and good/great survivability. She has literally everything except for range and invulnerability

- can't stuck on robot or the barricade
- if you put it the way of the robot, it destroys it

Well we got so see her like shadow or whatever it was like a month ago and got to see her more yesterday when the battle pass trailer got released, but we haven’t seen much more of her
Kinda Soujurn x Mercy, well rounded, actually Fun looking gameplay, doesn't seem overpowered since has pretty good amount of counters, tbh looks like one of my nee fav supports after Lucio, Kiriko and maybe Bap
Does kitsune increase the primary fire charge rate, secondary fire charge rate, and heal turret fire rate? Does the heal turret block LOS against some enemy abilities (i.e. deadeye)? Does the heal turret get destroyed or lose hp/go inactive if EMP-ed?

I have a few questions, not sure if they’ve all been asked.
If she uses her ult while nano’ed or damage boost is active, the damage SHOULD be amplified when passing through enemies- but will the explosion damage deal extra damage? (So instead of the 120 explosion, If she is nano’ed, will it do 180?)
Since her heal is a beam, like symmetra or zarya, can it be damage boosted? Or is it more of a mercy type thing where it heals at a flat rate?
Since her turret fires projectiles, does nano or damage boost increase her healing? And If not, how about baptist window?
If tracer gets hit by the ult, then takes the 75 needed to proc the explosion, if she was to use recall, will the recall not cleanse the ult? Or will it work the same as cleanses used in the other examples?
Does lucio speed boost increase the speed she flys at in her ult?
Can her turret be hacked?
Does her ultimate explode through shields? (We know it passes through when initially cast, but once the explosion occurs, can you block off line of sight as rein, sigma, or brig to stop the explosion from hitting your teammates like a tracer pulse bomb?)
Does the ultimate pass through lifeweavers tree of life and mei’s wall?
Do abilities/ultimates that limit your movement stop you from being able to use your ult? (Sigma and zarya ults for example)
If a player dies while they have the sun debuff from the ult, will their body explode and damage people around them? Or do they have to be alive? (For example, someone gets the sun debuff but then instant dies to a Cassidy high noon)
Follow up to that. If an enemy echo duplicates, gets ulted by (new hero name), and dies while in ult, will she keep the debuff and outright die when she exits the ult?
Will the Ultimate damage anything created by a player? (Hammond mines, symmetra turret, etc)
Follow up with that question, can bob have the sun debuff or even torbs turret?
Does a player have to take damage to their HEALTH, or just take any amount of damage to activate the 120 explosion from the ult? (If someone has sound barrier, will the ult pop if they take the damage required to their overhealth? Will it be considered “taking the damage” if they lose their overhealth over time through beat?)
If a player is anti healed and has the lowest hp, will the turret heal them? Or will it heal the next available person until the anti heal ends?

Can you test if any illari ult combos with another ult can kill through: zen, lucio, or weaver ults?

I knew those years of using D2 trace rifles would come in handy.
I’ve seen the status be applied on heroes that are in the process of being pulled by lifeweaver.
Mythbister questions :
- can the suopr detonation be triggered by self damage (pharah rocket, soldier LX etc)
- what happens if you place the turret on destroyable objects (mei wall, petra´s ground etc) ? does it just drop off or is it destroyed ?
- can you heal multiple teammates at a time with the beam ?
- can the jump be used when in a grav or other CC (gravitic flux ...) ? I´m sure it canot save you, but can you atleast use it to do damage and knock enemies
- of you shoot the super on the ground, does the debuff applie through shields ?
- if 2 allies have the same amount of HP, which one does the turret choose to heal ?
-does the turret projectile follow the teammate (and does it stops when hitting a wall or reachig lax range) such as a dashing gen
This isn't about illari but it's about the buff for ramattra and doomfist. if the block is activated after the projectile (like tracers sticky bomb) is stuck does it still do reduced damage?
Her primary is basically a mini version of sojourn rail. Ive already gotten a fair share of satisfying double headshots.
I have a question for your mythbusting vid. Does the sunstruck status effect work on turrets and/or other abilities like Sombra’s translocater.
One little thing I noticed. It would be nice if she had extra damage boost on melee attack. Her gun is literally a sword! And when melee activated she swings with it. So it does make sense it should cause more dmg than if hit by a hand or other simple ways.
The ult will definately see some changes in future patches.

Illari’s pilar have strange DEPLOYMENT BUG, when it can not open upon deployment at strange angle- so it wont open and wont heal. Can you look into that? It probably have something to do with surroundings geometry. May be same as sombra bug with indestructible translocator.
It is true, that you can re-install pillar again, but if it is happening in the middle of fight, it can cost you the fight. So i think it is important to look into it.

So much healing and having the ability to heal with turret while fighting is kinda fun. Her gun deals a shit ton of damage but Ult doesn’t seem too strong

They knocked it out of the park with Ilari. You can focus on your damage without sacrificing healing. The reason for this is her healing is very strong, but you spend little time focusing on it. Smart pylon locations let you throw it and forget it, while the healing beam heals crazy fast for a short time. This means you can do a ton of healing with big impact and still have plenty of time to pop off with well timed railgun headshots.
The obvious question is can you teleport the healing thing and how does Sym’s turrets and Lifeweaver’s tree and platform and Mei’s wall interact with it
with lifeweaver's platform, it lifts it up (when activated by an ally) regardless of placement order
with tree of life, it destroys the pylon when placed on or within hitbox
not sure about symm tp and mei wall yet

This new hero looks super fun and healing can be like zen where isn’t your main focus all the time so I like this character and her abilities
Also this is probably the first support ult i've seen that is just a dps ult. Hell, it's more offensive and less supportive than some dps ults (EMP, Blizzard, Infrasight). Can't think of any other support ults that you could unironically combo with a graviton surge or a nano
