- čas přidán 11. 11. 2015
- DJ Paul stopped by Hot 1079 to chop it up with B High about his latest project and tour "Master Of Evil". During the conversation Paul also discusses the origins of 3-6 Mafia, what it was like running a major independent label, creating music with UGK, Cash Money, and Outkast. Furthermore, DJ Paul discusses the untimely deaths of group members Lord Infamous and Koopsta Nicca.
dj paul is one of the best producers in my opinion
Johnny C too many sleep on DJ paul
YES
One of the BEST in HipHop & overall music history...
Facts
yall blind, he good but he take most of the triple six beats from lil pat and neva give him real credit for dat shit and thats a FACT
Best DJ Paul interview B High didn't get into no drama just the legacy that's what we care about !! Paul seem humble even as a legend! 💯
3-6 came up in a time when you had to stay hungry, work tirelessly, and care about your craft. They paid their dues. The south wasn't even getting respect for hip hop at the time but they kept grinding. I've got mad respect for these guys. You won't hear new artists telling these kinds of stories. The games changed.
It didnt matter when you can sell 200 thousand out of your trunk you dont need Sony. I was surprised when they signed that deal because their albums and tapes were in our stores like regular signed artist in the south near Memphis. Even Unsigned artist from Memphis like playa fly had full card board cut outs of them and the albums release dates at the music stores around here and he had left 3-6 mafia and that album sold like 200 thousand underground.
best dj paul interview hands down they asked all the right questions
B High needs more recognition as an interviewer, anytime I click an interview and find out he did it I immediately know its going to be in depth, sincere and professional, keep it up man💯
Salute to the interviewer for actually making the interview about the artist, and not about the radio station promotion.
they should make a three 6 mafia movie

Me and my brothers owned a used car dealership in Memphis in the 90s and DJ Paul came by with Crunchy Black and 3six they wanted a brand new PT cruiser and a Prowler. DJ Paul and 3Six were so down to earth and respectfull. They really supported Memphis businesses including ours which was black owned
Best DJ Paul interview I've seen period....Props to B High
As a true Memphis, TN native. I LOVED this interview!
dj paul seems humble one the best producers of all time check the soundscan
Dope interview. I love hearing about the behind the scenes stuff from my favorite artists. Paul is my favorite producer of all time, so I was on the edge of my seat. RIP Lord & Koop. Paul, keep doin your thing. Hopefully Juicy gets back to doing music with Paul because those 2 together are better than anything the music industry is doing these days.
I was bout to like the comment but saw 36 likes . I can’t f wit dat
Bubba Kushii me neither holmes
I remember when I first saw mystic stylez in store. we wanted to check it out but was scared it might suck, so we stole that shit. minds blown when we heard it. I've since bought 2 copies of the cassette and 3 copies of the CD. still this day it remains one of my favorite albums of all time.
what would be ur triple 6 mafia albums ranking from best to worst
1 mystic styles 2 the end 3 world domination 4 most known unknown 5 when the smoke clears 6 unbreakable. if you count live by yo rep, it's. right up there between. 1 & 2. I'm. also a big fan of triple 6 mafia's smoked out loced out. Even though it's a solo album, I love king of the playazball. How bout you?

Does it Seem that every time when he talks about Koopsta and Lord Infamous passing you can feel it in his soul that he misses them dearly!! Its like he wants to cry at time .
True...it's only a few of the REAL ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF 3-6 LEFT I FUCK WITH THE HARD THEY THE REAL....THEY MADE DOING DRUGS COOL....SAME THIS FUTURE DOING IT'S ALSO THEY STARTED THE MIGOS FLOW THEY WANT SAY IT THO MIGOS PUT THEY OWN FLAVA ON IT
+Kenrick Eason yes and it sounds heartless but --infamous and koopsta album- i would have put in skinny pimp and buckshot allstars of memphis
@tapset47 that's his nephew not his brother he verified it on a Vlad interview
How did koopsta die?
B H heart attack in.2015
Dj Paul is da best hip hop producer..three 6 mafia 4life🎼
Alot of gems on this video. He mentioned UNLV, their old club they use to have.. Their old mixtapes and etc. A southern legend... I'm from Georgia but much respect to the M Town
just found this channel and Im glad I did.. dope interview keep doing what your doing
B High got the realest interviews..real standup guy in Atlanta
Man, this dude is such a great freakin interviewer, and paul is such a gracious guest. Great collaboration right here!
dj paul is the best producer in the game handsdown much luv frm philly bro salute 💯
So B High is doing what Vlad does but a lot better job at it lol
Great interview. Paul and Juice were innovators that are still getting copied today
And I'm surprised many people didn't know Ballers sparked Sippin On Some Sizzurp and IPA (Ghetty Green underrated)
check out my channel. . K.O.D KING OF DUVAL
+662chillin Vlad isnt shit compared to this
h
Their completely different tho, nothing to compare. This is a Radio Station Interview and Vlad is a Reporter for the Media in which HE created. Media Outlet and Radio have only 1 Comparison and that's An Interview of someone Related to Music
Correct, vlad interviews himself, and interjects himself to make himself relevant to whatever he's asking.
2 hardest Paul amped up beats"Paul With The 45" & "Yeah Dey Done Fucked Up".. 2 best ride N smoke Paul tunes "Neighborhood Hoe & Koopsta "Purple Thang" Paul/3-6 should be mentioned with P/NL and Birdman/CMR when discussing who had the streets on fire and Helped break the South thru a mainstream market like in NY in the 90's early 2000's
that paul wit the 45 hype me up every time I hear it classic
last man standing and destruction terror from chpt.1 and prophet posse from chpt.2 is a few of the crunkest for me.. who I is on choices 2 is Crunk asf too.
Thomas Banks can't forget the song I can't get shit/do paul
DJ Paul is a cool dude!! B-High yo interviews be #CLASSIC. Thank for getting the legends. Especially them Goodie Mob solo interviews. Much respect.
Paul is the man, always been curious about hearin him speak on evil pimp. Listnin to ya'll talk about people bringin memphis style music around and keepin it alive these days immediately made me think of him...i think he stays more true to that sound than anyone these days. Just imo.
didnt they have beef? evil pimp is dope but he steals a lotta music from 90s memphis artists, you can call it paying homage or whatever but im sure the creators of the music dont appreciate it cuz i doubt pimp is paying them royalties. paul did the same shit with squeeky and zirk tho so idk
Evil Pimp just straight up steals Memphis artists style like K-Rock, Lord Infamous, and and Project Pat. It's one thing to use the Memphis sound but you can't just straight up take peoples whole style, annunciation, cadence, and delivery.
This dude is a great interviewer. And DJ Paul is one of the best producer in the game. If you ask me they need to give him all the credit instead they give it all to Juicy
Marcus P That “6ix Commandments" project proves who was the mastermind behind the triple six sound.
Really good interview, way better than vlad cuz real recognize real and you can tell hes an actual fan too. R.I.P. Lord Infamous and Koopsta Knicca.
"If you got people hatin' on you, then that means you're doing something right. If you ain't got nobody hatin' on you...somethin' ain't real. Somethin' ain't right, right there."
-DJ Paul 2k15
That dudes spirit is present everytime Tear the Club Up plays.
First off, this interview was great, love to see a host that actually lets his guest speak. I grew up in a crazy time and can say Three 6 was a big influence on me when I was deep in the streets. I remember living like the songs stated. Besides all that crazy nonsense, DJ Paul is a humble cat with an eloquent way of expressing his journey. Best wishes always for this guy and his crew. True rags to riches story.
B-High is the best interviewer because this is not a job to him. He is really a fan happy as shit to interview legends. His facial expressions is so live.. love it
Cuzz is a good interviewee! He be asking some good questions and great feed back! He definitely built tough for this!!
Love 3'6. Great Interview. R.I.P Lord Infamou$ & Koop$ta Knicca
SpEcIaL ED whurs crunchee blac
The 3/6 Mafia need a Biopic fast.....
I wanna push the like button but it's at 666. triple 6 all day
You super dedicated bruh... on God.
Awesome interview I hope DJ Paul keeps making music for along time.
Such a dope interview, man. Definitely subbed. DJ Paul the GOAT.
DJ Paul, #Memphis always grew up listening to Dirty South/Southern Rap crunk cause those were real joint jams.
I liked Pat version of International Player's better. Name of the song was Choose U.
That was the original version. When Paul n Juice making Int Playa Anthem they just sampled Choose U n made it into another beat
@@bigace--420 nope same exact beat. Pimp wanted the same exact beat. Paul tweaked it a lil but same ass beat
...Me Too
💯
Same beat jus extend it wit pimp..
Hey 4 years later I didnt know that!! Thanks bro!!
D.J Paul and Juice are pioneers of their era...They did a lot of good things musically...I hope they unite again and do some work...Life is too short to be falling out with people, but it happens. But we must remember to come back together as family as we once were. This was a good interview.
True 👍
motivated is also 1 of my favorite 36 song I listen to it many times for inspiration
the club he is talking about was called the gate off columbia Dr in Decatur,ga I know I was there.
Who cares if u was there
ThreeSEVENnine hating ass bitch
Yep, right next to Jazzy T's
I lived directly behind the Gate on Laguna drive. Went to Knollwood Elementary and Columbia High
damn good interview! and a damn good interviewer he asks damn good questions and very respectful he don't be interrupting his guests and shit I dug this shit right here appreciate the interview playa!
Paul and Juice are the real Kings of Memphis. Ball&G are the OGs... the pioneersm... they made Memphis a staple in Southern music, but 3-6 took Memphis outside of the South in a major way. They don't get the credit they deserve... they really don't. They help create Crunk/Buck music. Da Summer, Kingz of Memphis, Hypnotize Camp Posse compilation, the original Triple Six Mafia tapes, Project Pat first two albums, etc. Memories... true Legend shit. RIP Scarecrow! (Lord Infamous)
It wouldn't be three 6 without lord infamous frfr
dude u way better than vlad,.. vlad b hiding beind camera.. thats so annoying
Vlad forever talks about nothin & never knows the history of people he interviews. Cant stand that shit
The interview actually puts thought behind his questions. I appreciate that. He reminds me of the same type like the guy from Hot Ones. A lot of these other interviewers are lame.
I respect the fuck outta this interviewer. I've been waiting for someone to go deep with early Three 6 questions
Paul has always been my favorite out of Hypnotize Minds. He’s funny as hell too
this a fire interview, Paul was spilling knowledge.
Mafia!! Mafia!! Mafia Ya!!
It took me a lil while to be 're to 're 're 're 're i opened my ears i was hooked. Some of the best production you will ever hear in rap.
He was in ATL & he talks about giving props to ATL but he should squash his beef with T-Rock who acknowledged he made mistakes when he dissed Paul & make some hits with him. And since Lord & Koop are gone Paul should reform a new Mafia with Gangsta Blac, Indo-G, Playa Fly & side members that came & went through the years.
I agree 💯💯💯
if paul got t-rock, k-rock, m-child on an album ..... shit would be INSANE
what happened to lil gin?
TrueWisdomAsherite80 😭😭😭 Fly ain't going...
Listen to Seed of 6ix. New age Come With Me to Hell type shit.
He's a great interviewer. He makes everything sounds so interesting.
Awesome interview!
I’ve said it a thousand comments: My 2 BIGGEST regrets in my Hip-Hop life, was hating on & sleeping on Mobb Deep, and the whole 3-6 Mafia. I was such a big ass Bone Thugs-N-Harmony fan, that I took their beef with 3-6 seriously. So I refused to listen to their music. I missed out on sooooooo much good music from DJ Paul & them in 1994-1996. 🙍🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
- Signed 01/16/2020
AtLeast you came around. Mobb deep too, u a real one
Mobb deep and 666 on topppppp
Always hit repeat on night tip, wish there was an extended version on the CD.
who else tryna smoke a blunt with dj paul haha
xblmind5et I'd snort some cocaine with him.
Smoke a blunt with paul...yo but gonna end up butt naked running down the street like smokey from friday
dj pauls bbq sauce will awaken your mindbend
I got chills hearing him talk about that cash money unlv shit. one of the best songs ever.
I'm so glad I was ahead of my friends and the main hip hop heads at the time. The first few times after hearing 3-6 I knew they were different. DJ Paul sampled lots of Willie Hutch and had some of the best beats. Project Pat had the most original style (I know lots will say Lord Emph), and everyone else went so hard.
R.i.p. Koop n Lord
Three -Six Mafia started Crunk music.
Russell Adams damn right
Russell Adams and most of the shit you hear on the radio. Lord infamous is one of the OGs to use the so called migos flow.
when pple say lil john ..smh.. they had "who the crunkest" years before him
nahh pretty tony did
@@delwyngarcia5189 That's because he created, It's called the triplet flow.
Paul did a 360 with his health 💯💯
I love Paul he not fake so nice
good interview not the same old questions like always much luv
Damn good interview and interviewer
i wish Dj paul and Dj premier would do a an album Dj Paul my favorite producer we been pumping him for years dwn south
2 completley different styles
DJ Paul is such a fucking cool dude and this interview was fucking awesome, Subbed
By far my one of my favorite rappers, but the coldest producer in the game, hands down. Been listening to 3 6 for 26 years!!!!
Mafiaaa!!
Love DJ Paul shit, Posse songs fuk a chorus, just everybody go hard. A true original lyricist, story teller, artist.
He’s just letting DJ Paul talk and that made this great
That Pimp C part is in the Pimp C book
3-6 need a movie 4 real..late nite tip !!
I agree best dj paul interview I seen rip lord infamous happy birthday much love.comming from Norte killa cali
What everyone missed is Keith sweat got pimp c stories
Where they at
Dayum Radio Shawyty, I thought this was a new interview... this 5 years ago. When he said Waka Flocka, I had to check the date...
best interview of 36 mafia shout outs to Lord Infamous and Koopsta Knicca Game won't be the same RIP
pauses video at 18:30 to play late night tip
B hi...be blessed..thank you for the positive commentary....may the Most High bless all your guests....and you too..
Already...I ain't scared
great interview bro
what a great interview. asking questions i would ask him
I always like how Paul is just himself. Listens to 80's music, metal, etc. Doesn't have to purposely leave syllables off words and begin as well as end every sentence with "know what I'm saying". Says he loves Dolly Parton and doesn't have to mumble when he talks.
this is the best interview I ever listened to lol dj paul lol and b high much love
Paul with da 45 is the best three six song from a production stand point
DJ Pauls beats, Lord Infamous flow. Nothing comparable this day.
DJ Paul is one of the few realest out there
+R011T1DEROLL Hell naw. Paul and Juicy have destroyed over 15 artist careers. T-Rock, Frasyer Boy, K-Rock, Chrome, Lil Fly, Skinny Pimp, Lil Glock & S.O.G., Gangsta Blac, Crunchy Black, MC Mack and many more.
+Memphis Manne
I definitely agree. It's so crazy that as much as I respect this man's art so much has, but it's hard for me not to wonder why he hasn't helped Skinny, Fly, Tommy III etc and help out them. They are legends, and he could have really helped out his city to be even more influential. I think he's greedy, but I love them.. Uuggh
Some of them left and tried to come bacc after they couldnt do it alone and Paul & Juice said no. And the other half was on drugs and couldnt manage their money right. Thats the truth on what happen
Paul has squashed his beefs with most of Memphis (Squeeky, Zirk, Blac, Skinny, Gotti, etc.). Fly is really the only one who really won't bury the hatchet (on one hand can't blame hand but on the other hand you do come off looking petty).
I won't include Boo leaving Da Mafia 6ix because almost everyone (group members and fans who went to their shows) said her attitude stank. Even Chat has distanced herself from her
+Memphis Manne The man squashed his beef with almost every artist you mentioned. He's definitely cool with Skinny Pimp and Crunchy. Everybody getting old now.
Paul need to make a movie about the come up n struggle of 3.6mafia
This dude is the reason I rap today #DJPaul #JuicyJ
i barely found this channel. subbed!
I wonder if the brother he referring to is Craig Petties. I know dude was like a Kingpin. Good history tho
All dj Paul interviews homie mad down too Earth even wit all his success 💯 man
DJ Paul > Dr.dre
90sUndaground
Hell no
DownTownRobj there is an argument for Paul (with Juice) based on how much raw material they made. Dre has a dozen albums (maybe) compared to dozens and dozens from three 6
DownTownRobj yes
90sUndaground hands down
Preach!!!
Dope interview - very entertaining - can't stop watching!!!
Shout Out: 2 B High for knowing Pat did that playa song first. A lot of ppl don't know that.
