    I'm heartbroken by this for him.. He used to be one of my favorite players to watch. On a good week or two he could defeat every members of the top 10. Now he just seems like he don't believe he can comeback.. Such wasted talent.. Nontheless I'll cheer for him until his last moments on court!

      More like 'cruel fate'. 'Wasted talent' implies it is his fault through lack of application, which is certainly not the case.

    It must be hard for him to reconcile his current level against previous success. Sounds like he's mentally coping with it a lot better. I hope he can find a way to play/train without pain so he can enjoy his tennis more and keep playing.

      Exactly absolutely not comparable. Del Porto had several surgerys on both wrists. Thiem didn't! The Argentine even came back stronger, reaching his career high, winning his Grand Slam title after wrist surgery.Comparing Thiem with him is an absolute embarrassment for del Porto who does not deserve this at all!

    Thiem at his prime gave the big three a lot of challenging matches. I think his problem is more mental than physical. like he said before the fire went out after winning the his only grand slam after losing his first three. He should be proud of his career. Its a shame he always faced a prime Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros.

    Dominic is amazing! I don't care that he's not winning matches likehe used to. A joy to watch always. Maybe he has a comeback in him. Maybe he doesn't. Either way, it doesn't diminish anything he has accomplished in his career. Top 3, 17 titles, including a Slam and some amazing finals.

    I wish he would realise hes not reaching that top level again because he has lost interest. He actually started getting worse after he won usopen, his motivation dropped. At this level its all about how badly you want it, even if you watch his matches, he often loses the first set and then comes back and wins next won. its like he needs his back against the wall in order to play hard. Domis my favorite player, I wish he could chnage his mentality, realising soon it will all be over, give it everything while you can. work harder in the gym, keep going domi we love you ❤️

    • @Geol3dg3
      @Geol3dg3 Před 2 měsíci

      This is a career changing wrist injury buddy. You don’t need to tell the guy who was one of the fittest on tour to “work harder in the gym”. Mentality will only get you so far, when the body breaks down your hands are tied. Look at Murray and Nadal, both mental giants with huge resilience. If your body isn’t physically capable, no amount of mental strength will trump that.

      Hardly. Thiem won a major and reached more than one major final, doing the deed for his heralded name although many expected him to win multiple majors. Also won more than one ATP 1000 Masters title. Gasquet never accomplished any of those, although he won 16 career titles. Do your research.
