KOON!! You forgot to mention abou the most important GOLD bars and a SUNLIGHT stones and they should never EVER be used uncap weapons and summons. Especially if you want a free SSR characters and a free powerful SSR summons.
That’s one of the most biggest mistake for new players.
There were no gold bars and sunlight stones when this video was made lol.

I'm sorry i know this is very late but without sunlight stones how do we uncap a summons? Please tell me if there is another way to uncap summons because i'm a beginner
Too late Koon. I've already pushed my friend into the never ending grinding abyss of GBF. He's never even touched a JRPG, so I thought; "If I give him enough time and lots of advice, he'll catch on."
He couldn't even figure out how to change his Main Weapon and refuses to even peek at the Help section or any guide I send him.
He's screwed (yet he keeps finding Tiamat Omega Weapons. Damn beginners luck.)

this is my currently situation,I began playing FGO because I liked the anime,then I installed FEH did not like it in the beginning but decided to give it a shot,addicted right now,got Nowi and Azura 5* as first units,then heard about GBF and...hell I really loved it! Just to begin with,it comes from such a nostalgic company,Dena! I used to play all of their games when they were in my Country App Store like 3-4 years ago,used to play Rage of Bahamut,Deity Wars,Blood Brothers,Fantasica,Transformers etc. but sudenly they disappeared from the app store and at the time I did not know how to download foreigner games on my cellphone now I'm so happy playing some of these games again including GBF oh and btw it is PRETTY similar to Rage of Bahamut!

With number 5, it bears mentioning that in the super early parts of the game, your SSR gacha weapons can often do more for you with raw stats than the R weapons and SR HP-skill weapons could do with both stats and skills.
This changes reasonably quickly for wheel elements, since even earth still has a magna SR with an attack skill (and attack weapons on its rotating showdown as well), but light and dark can wind up getting more out of stat sticks than on-element weapons for quite some time.

One thing I'd like to add for pre-HL players, DON'T forget to exchange your monthly silver centrums, PLAN ahead and farm your C4 materials preemptively so you're not one of those rank 110+ players running around without C4. You might not be fortunate enough to get all them from crew share chests like me (I've hosted 4 grandes to crew, 0 centrums.) Wasn't aware of the monthly exchange limit, and as a result, I had to wait an entire month before I unlocked C4.

Fragments (shards) too are very important. I'm 500 shards short to get my row 4 classes due to bad gacha luck and low rupee to reduce items.

It's worth noting that only SR and SSR gatcha weapons can be reduced and SSR gatcha weapons with attack up skills can be very valuable in the late game. Before reduceing SSR gatcha weapons check your main element's end game setup and see if holding those weapons is useful especially with the damascus steel being obtainable now.
Nice tip Lang! Especially guns and swords, due to overlapping decks like chev/tiamat gun and chev/ygg sword decks.

This helped me a lot when I was starting out, so thanks a lot! Here's my two cents, though; a couple of words I would have said to past me:
- Don't read too much into tier lists. Every character is good as long as you like him/her.
- Do co-op daily missions. Don't be shy. You'll thank yourself later. You can solo co-ops if you can't help being shy.
- You can and should leech event raids.
And the following is just a lot of hogwash coming from a salty person who made 200 rolls and didn't get his SR waifu and is currently in need to get a load off his mind:
- Save for Sparking from the very beginning. Even if you don't have a char that you absolutely must have, you will find out about one sooner or later, be it waifu/hasubando or just someone with a nice skill.
- You can live with free chars and rupie gacha chars just fine untill sparking.
- If your favourite char has an SSR and a Grand version, suptix the SSR and spark the Grand one during Premium Gala. Suptixing is easier if you're playing via smartphone app.
- Don't draw from Premium tab unless you're ready to spark. Resist.
- Using tickets in Ticket/Other tab is OK (these don't net you cerulean sparks), but I wouldn't draw with them unless Premium Gala / Flash Gala is on.
- Rupie gacha is another story: do your 101 draws daily for plus marks and occasional char weapons.
- Always save for sparking, even after you've sparked someone. Rngesus is merciless, and yet unreleased waifu in swimsuit will be much desired.
- Even if you're aiming for an SR that has 10% drop probability (and you really really need that character), don't roll. Don't roll unless you can make 300 rolls. Always spark. Always spark even if it's an SR character. *ALWAYS SAVE FOR SPARK AAAAAÄAAAAAAÄ*
Yes, the tier list! Not really that important until late game like rank150+, love > all.

This vid was surprisingly released about the time I started and I haven't started reading ANY strats and guides on GBF (pretty much randomly wandered into hell) XD
now, 3 years later, rank ~140 solo casual player, I found this vid and wonder how many top 5 mistakes I made
1. yep, but i was fine thx to my lucky/unlucky getting 3 ~200 gachapin draws during a +1 mark bonus event
2. checked, I milled almost all, but again, still got lots in my crate thx to gachapin XD
3. remember the pinboard missions? the first thing i did was threw the SR summon to a *SSR summon*. I also fed some to others cause I did not know their worth XD
4. technically I didn't make the mistake, but i was just too lazy :P
5. hmm, I suppose I realised that after I was rank 20 when I checked the weapon skill (even so, i did not have enough for a grid back then)
yes, 3 years later, the last one is so true, as that was the first thing I told to my friends when i finished my first M2 grid. This brings back memories, thank you XDDD
edit: I entered the game from Shadowverse, and neither did I watch any guides until I was rank 100 and the amount new/old content overwhelmed me

Another mistake to watch out for is RESEARCH HOW CLASS CHANGE WORKS. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE AND MAKE A WEAPON FOR A ROW 4 CLASS WHEN YOU CAN MAKE SOMETHING FOR AN EX2 CLASS (either way unlocks the ability to get row 4 classes but you first CCW has discounted materials). Also make sure that you look into elements that work well with said CCW because farming showdowns for 100 dongles isn't fun.

It's in both English and Japanese, you can change the setting by choosing the language option :)
I did but like 5 minutes into the tutorial it changed back to japanese and then I couldn't change the language anymore
because of event, I often do No.4. Totally forgot about normal & hard raid.
There is actually a trick about normal and hard modes- Just YODA them!
I don't think I ever got any plus bonuses from the daily rupee gacha. It's one reason why I simply ignore the rupee gacha entirely.
I got almost all my plus bonus from there... about 170+ in total for weapons, and 70+ for summons. Within 6 months ;)
It's not easy to get them if you don't roll rupee gacha regularly.
I was regularly roll them for some time, and then when the weapons got at level 30+ the N weapons doesn't give much exp, so I switched to feeding them to the characters instead, only to find that running quests give much, much more exp than feeding N weapons. So I ended up skipping the rupee gacha after a few weeks.
There are times when the premium rolls give '+ bonus' weapons and summons, so I tend to keep my crystals for those times, lol. But yeah, even when I go 10 roll rupee, I don't think I ever got any plus bonus from it.

Wew good thing I actually didn't do the mistakes but one mistake that wasn't included in the video is PENDANTS. Always earning pendants I found this out about 3 days ago for the past 2 weeks I've been playing GBF. Apparently there's a SHIT TON of goodies for pendants such as high level requirement items and SSR weapon trades. Then with pendants you can exchange for moons for EXP boosters that INSTANTLY LVL A LVL 1-70 LIKE NOTHING. Then there's the SSR pick ticket which is highly sought out for. I'm still reading the skills for the SSRs inside the special picks area so I can tell which one should I get when I get the ticket. But obviously it's a 5 month work project probably because 150 GOLD MOONS IS NOT EASY TO GET.

Just a question, I am farming leviathan to build a water weapon grid. is it advisable to also have a decent earth weapon grid for farming leviathan? or is it sufficient to use my existing water grid with a few SSR leviathan weapons? sorry if its a mundane question! i'm just curious ^^;

Wait, does the "Don't use gacha weapon as fodder" still apply to the Rupee gacha and Rare weapons? Or only to SR/SSR?
R, SR and SSR Weapons from event gacha do not considered Gacha weapons.
R weapons from rupee gacha are all fodders.

I'm a bit confused, Koon. I'm more of a casual player on GBF. So, why wouldn't you use the weapons you get from the draws to uncap other weapons? Doesn't that make your character/weapon stronger?
Also, I never understood how to select which weapon types for each party. Say, for example, I'm using the archer class & a wind element main weapon. I would need to have wind element for my sub-weapons to maximize my character? And does it matter what weapon type it is (such as swords, spears, staffs, etc) or does it need to be the same type that the archer class uses?
Your weapon grid must match your summon combination. Weapon grid is basically 'raw stats', you need summons to provide them 'bonus'. Weapon type does matter, but if you are new to the game, just use whatever you have.

I'm so confused about the second mistake. How do I break the cache weapons? How do I level up my weapons without them? Do I use the weapons I get from quests? How do I know where each one came from? What if I get an N weapon? pls help :(
As a new player (3 days in) i don't understand half of the video. What is a gacha weapon? How can you tell it's a gacha weapon? Any other type of weapon is ok to fooder ? Beside that, it sure helps, thx !
Gacha weapons are those weapons you can only obtain through gacha, they are not 'farmable'.
As long as a weapon brings no improvement to your grid, you can feed it away pretty safely. However, remember to keep different types of weapons, so that you can switch between classes.
Ok i see, so any weapon i get from random mission are safe to use to upgrade character/weapon. That's what you call fodder ? or is it something else ?

Can someone tell me whether its safe to sell all the treasures that drops from coop or are they needed later on? (disks, stone, amber, coral and pinwheels etc)
Amber, Coral, pinwheel and stones are needed for crafting class champion weapons. You need 30, depending on what element you change the weapon to. So save 30 of each, any extras are safe to sell. They (along with silver and gold disks) may also be used to buy buffs for co-op, but it's optional and not that important.

I was thinking this game was like others MMO´s / multiplayer kind (explore, quests, level up, etc...), but, as far I can see it´s not like that. I don't understand one thing... maybe two. I'm not new to JRPG but yes to this new kind of JRPG that's seems so common in Japan today. Being free to play, at least in appearance, I want to try it some day. But It's looks to me like a hell of farming.
Can you really screw your party? I mean, to the point of having to recreate? Or can you correct your mistakes by reviewing your farming tactics?
Hi JH, it's totally fine to screw up things in GBF, cause you can always make changes or reset, but of course these options come with a cost- your time and effort. :)
GBF is worth playing with or without using real cash. Even whales find it hard to compete with hardcore players.
About gameplay and farming, you should be fine as long as you are not overly obsessed or addicted, but I guess most players get addicted the moment they started playing this game :P

i'm newbie and i have some question.
1. which one i should prioritize, uncapping weapon or just collecting them? like in this shodown event, i got several SSR wind weapons duplicate, and i don't know what i should do.
2. between raw damage and skill which one i should prioritze? because at my condition right now, my party deals more damage if it's just use high attack weapon rather than using weapon with matching skill.

1. If the weapon has useful skill, uncap it and lvl it to the max. Wind katana from spirit collab is good, just collect as many as you can. If you are a grande user, try to collect four 3* katana.
2. Both, you have to balance them and grow both accordingly. Raw stats without skill bonus are weak, vice versa.

Umm.. so btw, I have currently 2(SR) water, 2(SR) dark, and 1(SSR) earth characters using in my party while the other characters are R ones in which I don't think I can use in the late game(no offense to rare users, I'm just a newbie in this game) except for story characters like Rackam with SR rarity.
In this case, what element should I be focusing with? since I don't have any major element characters, I'm having a hard time on which element should I start working with. I prefer to start with dark element but I don't know since I'm just a newbie and I don't want to make as many mistakes as possible.
best thing to do is look at what you have... do you have more water??? fire?? wind>??? etc.... best option is to make your first party of what you have the most of
when i started a year ago i had a SR and some R's but with them i managed a full Fire team and from there i just kept playing and slowly started to build up my fire team and then started on others.... now i have about 40 SSR characters and a full team of Each element...
number one thing people mess up on is UnCapping usless character..... SAVE ALL YOUR MATERIAL FOR SSR characters dont bother un capping R=SR characters

Nope, full guns or full swords has nothing special unless you pair them with a cosmos weapon.

Save all your crystals for Leg Fest shishi, only draw when the rate is doubled. :)

I see you have a light team of Albert, Jeane and Amira. Any reason for that set up.
Mine is Jeane, Ferry and Amira, with Albert and Juliet in the back. But i think Jeane does not sit well with Amira and Ferry so i think to change Jeane with Juliet or Sophia. Can i have some opinion about that set up ?
This setup is only for solo. Ferry is definitely better when we jump into a raid.
Jeanne is good for main slot in my opinion, her attack up is a valuable asset, and her triple attack is quite good, 1mil dmg is doable with normal attack.

Yes, you can. Inventory > click on weapon > find "reduce" at the bottom.

Sooo i hope u see that, ijust started a week ago, not play all day but im at chapter 8 and rank 15 and after watched about 3-4 of your videos, i found it so helpful but i can't understand half of the things still, sry for newbie :D
1: What is gacha? I guess its something different in english verison cuz didnt met with that word yet.
2: im full of weapons (300/300 didnt bought slots) and can't pick up more, didn't find any sell option so started upgrade weapons to just lose that about 200-250 normal weapon :D Is this wrong?

Okay i realised gacha is draw.... So whats the exact problem with that? My best current weapons are from Max lvl Draw(gacha) and these are the only SR(2) and SSR(1) weapons i have and they seems nice but sometimes if other weapon give more dmg(ATK) i will select that as a main weapon.... agains sry if it was painful to read :D
Hi Nick, no worry about the text. My advice- never draw outside legend fest. There is a double up gacha fest called legend fest every now and then, keep your eyes on that :)

btw, I don't see any guarding option in GBF, so when boss went overdrive, I simply "so what, where the guard button?"
probably only healing whenever necessary and buff when the big moves is coming?
the closest thing to guarding is damage cut buff, aka Phalanx. only the Knight class tree can do it, along with certain defense characters.and summons.
So overdrive is just a warning to keep the party fully healed that turn? Okay, thanks~
