"Why are the toblerones social distancing?" Bruh, I died at that one.
I legit choked on my drink when I heard that one 😂
Choco-virus... Chocolate-19? 🤣🤣
YEAH THEIR JOKES SLAP. ITS WHY I LOVE TRASH TASTE.
Chocvid-19. I drop my phone on my toe after hearing that🤣🤣🤣
it was so perfectly timed lmao
I have never had a Toblerone and even I felt offended.
They reverted it, with a price rise.
It was an economical decision, due to rising cocoa prices
@@necromax13 I think it was because there was a cocoa shortage or something a few years ago, but they're kinda back to how they were. The gap is a bit bigger than the older version, but idk if on right about that bc I only buy the big bars of it and it breaks easier with that size gap. (Source: I'm eating one right now)
You are not missing much
Toblerone is back to normal now! The dechocolatisation was short-lived. We all good, gamers! 🍫👍
Thanks for the update, I haven’t eaten one in forever
Well I never noticed the change cuz I didn’t even eat any chocolate cuz of my diet💀😭
I basically stopped eating virtually all chocolate after the atrocity. Good to know they're back on track.
HELL YEAH!
Phew
well here in good old germany we still get the old Toblerone
Only a matter of time and we will get the "new" ones and the rest of the world has the old ones back
Germany Gang lets gooooo
the best chocolate i ever had was german
@@danielcesar664 ngl I just buy normal cheap ass Chocolate. But you get the fancy stuff every now and then in gift bags
@@mubarezahmad8662 i think Lindt chocolate is pretty much the best there is. So Toblerone has no chance considering that they are from the same City.
My grandfather forbade his children to eat Toblerone. The reason? He was an Esperanto enthusiast and Mr Tobler threw in his lot with a rival artificial language (Ido). True story from the 1920s.
But have you tried it ?
@@katietan2024 Yes, but even now the chocolatey pleasure is accompanied by a slight aftertaste of ancestral guilt.
@@catherinebutler4819 wow 😂
That's so fascinating
@@catherinebutler4819 don't feel guilty because your grandfather was a conlang sectarionist, just be glad you know better.
As a Swiss citizen, I can say that Toblerone is a disgrace to us and a disappointment to "real" chocolate
As a Swiss I agree
To be honest I never like Toblerone even as a non-Swiss, it's just too tough for my teeth, and the flavor wasn't even that good to worth that trouble.
Wait has the change happened in Switzerland? Cuz it’s still looks the same here in Sweden atleast
@@fibois1283 it was always the same in Switzerland but it's not that good chocolate if you compare it to others we have. Maybe it's because they are owned by a American company.
@@SwissTanuki I mean ofc it’s not gon be as good as other chocolate when y’all literally popularized it. But Conor and grant are British so I don’t think it’s bcuz of the fact that it’s owned by an American company.
"WHY IS TOBLERONE SOCIAL DISTANCING?" that is an amazing joke that people in other eras will not get to appreciate as much as we have
I'm reminded almost everyday how cheated we are about the change of Toblerone. Never forget.
Sombody tutche my spaghet
@@KrissFliss GOOD NEEEEWS, Cigarette Juice!!
Were. They changed it back years ago :)
@@altaria563 Oh really? I felt like that only happened in some countries, like mine, since the English speaking Internet still bitches about it every now and then and I thought "Huh really? Our Toblerones are back to good again."
There was actually a very good reason for the change, chocolate became more expensive so toblerone was left with 3 choices, sell at a smaller margin or a loss, increase the price of each toblerone or decrease the amount of chocolate used, it's very difficult to sell at a smaller margin since it's a for profit company and has to satisfy its investors and shareholders, so you're left with two options that will both give your brand a hit, they chose to reduce the amount of chocolate.
"You don't deserve a big toblerone."
Neo yokio reference. Nice!
I hadn't had Toblerone in years, but last time I had it I was appalled at how far the gaps were.
Also, fun story, one time I traded a bag of crisps for a quarter of one of those massive, toddler-sized Toblerone bars, so I'd say that's "stonks" if I've ever seen it.
Its back to the older version.
I live in the US and bought a Toblerone bar quite recently and it was like the old one. I've never seen this new "social distancing" Toblerone bar before, though it is funny to see.
Because it's old news. The wide gap toblerone thing happened five years ago.
@@necromax13 really! Wow that's interesting, thanks for letting me know.
They changed it back dw
That "fuck you" was so perfect
Joey getting all patriotic just to hear Garnt call Tim Tams mid.
I'm not even Australian and I know that Tim Tams are amazing, Garnt is on one I swear 😂😂
Old Toblerone: get on Christmas, lasts until New Year's Day.
New Toblerone: get on Christmas, lasts until Boxing Day
boxing day?
@@akkico the day after Christmas (26th)
@@akkico Same question.
"Why are the Toblerone's social distancing" wrong time to take a sip of Milo my friend, wrong time.
These guys are saying a single triangle of Toblerone is too much meanwhile I'm devouring it in a couple of minutes
If I remember correctly, Toblerone actually did it to get people upset and make a statement about Brexit. They didn't intend for it to stay a thing.
What??
I thought the "haha XD Brexit economy edition Toblerone" memes at the time were just jokes at its expense?
@@jobansand Yeah it was a statement about how if Brexit was approved then people would be paying the same amount for less product just because of where they lived. It was an example of what you could expect ig.
@@lindholmaren Yeah it was a statement about how if Brexit was approved then people would be paying the same amount for less product just because of where they lived. It was an example of what you could expect ig.
It had nothing to do with Brexit. They did it bc of prices of ingredients. They were cutting costs. I looked it up. When they changed it back, they raised the price to cover the costs I’m sure.
6:20 TIL that apparently Jaffa Cakes go bad quickly… a packet has never survived long enough in my house for me to find out.
5:03 the most solid "f*ck you" I've ever heard my entire life, 😂
Garnt and I both thought of Terry's Chocolate Orange at the same time
I know in the UK you can get individual slices in tons of different flavours
This is known as shrink-flation.
Same with packaging having a concave dent on the bottom of packaging, as well as "gripping dents" for your hands.
Ferrara did the same thing with the Chunky bar. They used to be one solid square, now they're segmented into 4 smaller squares. They also took out the cashews and replaced them with the cheaper peanuts. Also, Nestle added in more rice crisps in their Nestle Crunch bars, thus reducing the chocolate content, then tried to play it off as "Now with more Crunch!"
Just found this channel randomly and now I'm watching all of your channels keep it up guys you make great content
I don't know why, but anytime Toblerone's are mentioned I'm reminded of an old TV show on CBBC where the storyline is about chocolate being banned
0:29 Welcome back to: "Things taken out of context" - with Joey
Following up with Connor's "i have done that."
Connor :I have don't that
Apparently some guy above me added the sane quote
“You just break it in”
Quality content guys🤣🤣👏👏🙌🙌😂😂
Omg I never thought they would talk about Orange chocolate! I love cracking them open and they’re so good💗
Here in Canada though they are so non existent that I have to actually look to find them, sadly I haven’t found any this past year or two, this reminded me that I want to eat it again!
I'm sad that I can't find the white chocolate ones anymore. The oranges come out around the holidays.
there is a special way to cut toblerone, you snap the pieces together it feels super smooth.
I get a Terry’s and an original Toblerone every year for Christmas here in Canada. Terry’s is the best
The Toblerone Company: you all don't deserve these perfect Toblerones
We used to get the chocolate oranges for Christmas and i loved them. I even remember a dark chocolate version which was my favorite!
Surprised Joey doesn’t know about Beuno bars, we’ve had them in Australia for at least 10 years
I remember my grandparents would come from Egypt to get me and my family some chocolates. The brands that I always loved was katakito and bimbo. That shit slaps, and I ate that in the morning, afternoon, and after dinner.
Thank you for the Chocolate Orange shout out lol
They’re practicing social distancing even in candies lol
So this got me to look it up, and they have in fact reverted back to normal. "Makers of the Swiss chocolate bar, Toblerone, are to scrap its latest incarnation which saw wide gaps between its distinctive triangular chunks. That version was introduced in 2016 to reduce its weight but drew criticism, with some likening it to a bike rack."
Yeah they cost £5 a bar now.
Bro back before Covid one of my friends at school would always bring in a chocolate orange, and we'd just take turns breaking it and sharing the slices. Best part of lunch lol
Me watching this vid: 😊
Garnt and connor: jaffa cakes suck
Me: CHOTHO MATTE I wanna go jump out my window rn how dare you slander that sacred delicacy
I support this opinion
Exactly
You'll actually notice this through many diffrent large scale brands, take this chocolate for example. The larger one started at 400kg and was reduced to 360kg. Even if they reduce the price, as long as that reduction doesn't exceed that 10% threshold they're saving 10's of millions in production cost. Typically there are two reasons for this, liquidity issues or greed. And you can apply this to every part of manufacturing like packaging thickness, etc.
Toblerone Social distancing - Joey, 2021.
Toblerone on social distancing 🤣🤣🤣
Around 2014 there was a severe weather that reduced the supply of cocoa butter. This happened near when there was a spike in demand causing the price to rise like crazy so all chocolate makers reduced the size of their products and then decided to just never go back because it would be less profitable
Thank god they are reverting the change
“Why are the toblerone social distancing?”
Terry's chocolate oranges are so good I love them!
I’ve really never encountered this modified Toblerone anywhere in Europe. First time I hear of it.
I thinkj they might've done it so you could outward snap it. As opposed to the other one, the social distance mountains can fit a thumb inbetween
If they actually delved into it when Connor said that he really didn't like orange flavor. We would've had the debate a year prior. 4:39.
0:20 Salt on the wound, Garnt
I work in retail and the amount of times I notice how many products shrink but stay the same price is incredible to me. But no one says anything
"It's better because you're working for it," a teaser trailer for the chicken debate
At 3:00 saying smacking those orange chocolates results makes it more delicious sound quite familiar with the smashing watermelon
Those big gaps make it easier to snap, the original is PITA to snap when stored in fridge
The break a piece of toblerone inwards instead of the usual outward, is the chocolate version of delete system32😂
They do indeed have Terry's Chocolate oranges in Aus. And they are delightful.
Man I just love smacking a chocolate orange into a table
Best part of Christmas season is when they start to show up here in America
All the snacks listed are all so good, but I've never tried Jaffa Cakes so idk if it's good or not lol
YES FINALLY TERRYS CHOCOLATE ORANGE IS MY FAVORITE CHOCOLATE!!! As an American, I can only find it during Nov-Dec.
TimTams are amazing! I love them and every chance I get I will buy them, but I live in the UK
Terry’s Chocolate oranges are my favorite, as well as Happy Hippos and not many people know about them. They’re delicious!
As an Australian, can confirm that we have the terry's chocolate oranges and kinder bueno bars. Toblerone and Bueno bars are two of my favourite chocolates here, as Cadbury has gone downhill a lot over the years. Whittaker's (New Zealand) chocolate is nice too. Though I'd love to try real Swiss chocolate.
Jaffa cakes are called "Pim's koeken (cookies)" in Belgium.
Didn’t realize snapping toblerones had a “wrong” and “right” way
I never got so upset so quickly 😂😂😂🐉 .
I used to eat Toblerone like 10 years ago, I even forgot they exist until I saw this video xD
I went and bought one cause of this and it’s great
4:41... major foreshadowing to the newest episode....
i was just about to say that
Yes, omg I loved Terry’s Chocolate Orange 😩 I haven’t been to the UK in years so I haven’t been able to get it
Kinder Bueno is the best snack mentioned, perfectly balanced
The GOD DAMNED pringles tins that are too small for even my small hands to fit!
The chocolate orange!!!! So good
I get those chocolate oranges in my Christmas stocking, they're amazing.
I think this was or is only a thing in the UK because I can still buy the original ones in Switzerland
American here : ) , I love Terry’s, I get one for my coworkers every year as a small Christmas gift.
Nah boys, you got it wrong. They widened the spaces in order to try and keep the same pricing (due to rising cocoa prices).
The outcry was so widespread, that toblerone agreed to revert to the original shape, with a price hike.
Toblerone is still the fucking bomb.
I remember this. All chocolate makers did this around the same time. Was it because of the sugar tax?
So instead of making the chocolate bars more expensive, they reduced them for overall size (e.g. Chunky Kitkat), made them thinner (e.g. Dairy Milk Bars), made them social distance (e.g. Toblerone).
Serbian Jaffa keks are good tho. One of the best snacks in the country.
Hey any biscuit that i cant use as a straw for milk comes second at best.
1:22 the awkward silence after seeing the new toblerone look 😂
Glad that Toblerone stayed the same here in italy
Betrayal
The new alternative for tolberone is twin peaks. It's got the old quantity.
At least they chanced it back
0:31 so is it weird that I always ate it like that as a kid because I didn't knew that we were supposed to snap it
Didn't this only happen in the UK?
Gaunt Fuck yeah. Those oranges are the best.
The chocolate oranges are pretty good, I like the raspberry flavored versions better though.
I _love_ those chocolate oranges, but you really do have to hit it against something like it owes you money or it'll never bust apart.
You know when you’ve never had a food before but you are like pretty confident in how you think the texture and taste is… (this simply is a universal experience ) I just had that with joeys Tim Tams…
I don’t know how many have read JoJolion, this is like that Joshu scene with the hot dog
Thanks for reminding me of Terry's Chocolate Orange. I had (I think) one, many years ago and forgot about thier existence.
Hmm we still get the old ones too... Strange.
well, at least they are easier to break apart now. i remember when I was a kid, it was kind of hard to break it apart.
Can confirm that where i am in Australia, the toblerone is still the same old toblerone thank god.
I know, right? I was watching this and thought, "WTF are they talking about?".
the reason why is because of the price increase for coco beans they decided instead of raising the price to just increase the gap after the backlash they return back to the regular size but increase the price of it.
When they mentioned Jaffa cakes, did anyone else remember the yogscast
i live in switzerland and here the toblerone are still the same$
wait its 2022 and ive only NOW SEE THIS HOW!?!?!?!
Jaffa cakes are awesome! How dare they? I can't believe Joey had never heard of Bueno! That one's God tier
Ohh they know what's good ♡
Kinder Bueno is so good~
I will not abide any Jaffa cake slander, they’re one of the best snacks
What the hell kind of jaffa cookies you have that go bad in a day, now I want to try UK vs the Fazer ones...
