    Clink Road junction was my local hang out spot back in the late 70s, early 80s. There was a signal box and twin tracks on the Frome loop back in those days 👍

      Many thanks for viewing . As you can see from my video i go on the road bridge at Clink road i have looked for a bridge or field to see the single line coming off from the right the one that the stone trains from Whatley use . Are there any good view points close by other than the 2 bridges . So that single line off to the right used to be twin tracks .Where was the signal box too .

      @@keynsham-trains the old signal box base is visible to the right of the loco at 44 sec's. Back in those days the A361 Frome Bypass didn't exist, so it was possible to move further down what was then a field to get a view of the loop. I don't recall any access points along the loop between here and the station. Of course we rarely took photos in those days so such vantage points weren't such a concern.

    So that is Westbury Station with the yard at the end ? Is it a busy yard like that most days ... i've never been ?

      Many thanks for viewing . There is always something to see at Westbury stone trains coming in or going out . Yard shunts with any loco 66 60 70 the bulk of yard moves are done by a DB 66 . Lots of changes with Freightliner taking over the stone trains from Merehead & Whatley quarry .

    If Notwork Rail have a bit of spare cash they're trying to think of some way to spend it, the road bridge at Westbury could do with a lick of paint couldn't it.

      Thanks for viewing . That road bridge at Westbury has been like that for years if you go up on it and look at it more close it looks bad.

    Hello, How do you access Clink Road Junction from Westbury Station

    • @keynsham-trains
      @keynsham-trains  Před 5 lety +1

      Thanks for viewing . You need a car first of all you are about 5 miles by road to Westbury from Clink road junction you will need something to stand on unless youare over 6ft there is a muddy path on the over side which leads to another bridge which can get very muddy welli boots needed in the winter . look on google maps for clink road near Frome that should help .
