Thanks for watching! - Jak na to + styl
I could listen to this woman talk all day... she needs her own youtube channel.
The tone of her voice alone makes me relaxed
I don't know if it's just me but I am in love with Cathy's voice, it's so cool and collected but somehow relaxing? lol Even just her whole vibe is so mellow, I can watch her all day haha. She would probably make a good friend, she seems so real =]
"Celebrate the effort, not the result", such a great line, too often we get wrapped up in wanting to get somewhere but more vital is just trying and giving new things a go rather than ending up sitting on the couch!
"Applaud yourself." This made me cry.
A failure is a try that didnt work. Omg! What a life changing mindset!
Perfect timing! Just failed a licensing exam for my job. What did I do to overcome it? Took a 5 day break than started studying again to fill in the gaps of my knowledge. Thanks for having on Cathy. She helped strengthen my confidence.
I feel worried now. I’m afraid I may have done badly. I want to take things positively, but I get hung up on my mistakes and what others think of me. I want to be humble and reflective, and not beat myself up all the time. When people give me negative feedback, I want to take it positively as a learning point, instead of going on a downward spiral
The hardest part after a setback is getting back on track. If we can learn to embrace setbacks and get back on track FAST, success is just around the corner :)
Unbelievably intelligent and expressive woman who knows how to effectively communicate........powerfully !
Thank you so much for the interview.
I wonder why your videos always come at the right time. Exactly when I need them! Thank you Marie and your team. :)
Great interview!
I think that once you realize as a entrepreneur that failure (setbacks) are part of the process (path), it becomes a bit easier to deal with them. It is all about learning from the experience, without allowing it to be an excuse on why you can't continue.
What you said is so true! I've always been terrified to take any risks with my business, but I've learned from other successful people that they've made so many mistakes and that's all just been part of the process towards success. I'm learning how to accept my failures and appreciate the opportunity to learn from them.
I love Cathy's calmness and wealth of information! Wow! This info is perfect!!!
This is absolutely my favorite MarieTV episode thus far. I've been watching your videos for awhile and they have really helped me to feel unstoppable and ready to take on the world. I stepped out and applied for a promotion in my career and didn't get the job. Needless to say I was disappointed and all of these thoughts of inadequacy raced through my head, but watching this video was just the medicine I needed to pick myself up, dust off my shoes, and keep on putting myself out there. Thanks for everything.
I continue to believe that persevering is the most important part of victory. Just keep going. Be your own biggest encourager, and lean on God.
This was so good that I had to watch it twice in a row! Very powerful stuff from Cathy! I LOVE these kinds of videos!
Sooooooo helpful Marie. Thank you so much Dr. Kathy for your calm insight on the subject.. I definitely know now how I need to deal with this setback I am facing. That's all there is to know and do actually when failure strikes. So thanks a lot. Love
The first Marie Forleo video I ever watched was when Cathy first appeared as a guest on the show. So pleased you decided to invite her back. We all need more of her insight and wisdom.
This was wonderful and helped me adjust my thinking in a small but immensely powerful and positive way. I shared this with my mom and she loved it too and we had a great discussion on the topic and how we can implement it in our lives and endeavors. Thank you so much! Also, I could listen to Cathy talk all day. She's so eloquent!
I've been watching this everyday. Im trying to overcome something bad that has happened in my life.
It's been really hard.
I'm living by this 4 steps now! Thank you Marie and Cathy.
love her voice. really comforting but also authoritative and trustworthy
This has to be one of my favorite Marie TV episode of all time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
This was excellent and so timely. Thanks Marie and Cathy. Such wonderful gems of wisdom!
Kathy's final words in this interview were absolutely beautiful! Thanks for another great interview Marie!
This was so beautiful, healing and wonderful, Women can really make the world now a better place. It's time
Setbacks make part of life, depends on you deal with it and try be the best person that you can. Love It.
Definitely love these discussions with Dr. Collautt, she does a great job of condensing the wisdom of a therapist and she isn't just selling a book or something (though I would totally buy her book) And Marie does a great job of facilitating the whole learning exercise. I would love to see more interviews with her or other Doctors.
Wow...I should memorize everything Cathy just said
Thank you so very much for this video! I'm currently experiencing the exact thing. And right now I'm still in the grieving process. Thank you so much for this! I'm feeling more motivated and determined to get back up again
Cathy's voice is soothing 💕
Great one! I've tried to follow my mom's advice--if something doesn't work, drop it and try something different. So if I fail at my Ph D, then I might publish a book on that subject instead. Makes one an explorer of life!
Absolutely amazing video. The wisdom contained in this video is just awesome. I'm actually feeling so much more excited about TRYING, because I know I can approach failure and setbacks in a much more positive and healthy way. THANK YOU Marie and Cathy
Really really helpful video, thank you. Realising how safe I play it... and I'm writing this from the comfort of my couch 🙂
Hey Marie, how are you stalking my life's speed bumps. I was totally in this muck... Can' t tell you how timely this is. Thanks for throwing me the rope again and saving me!
This is very powerful! I am blown away and really needed to hear this. Building a business and recently suffered a loss, losing my son...so this message is very powerful and was so needed. Thank you!
What an awesome video. I just stumbled upon this somehow. I recently had some failures with board exams so this video really spoke to me about processing my setbacks. As someone who tends to take failure very personally, this advice is gold. Watching again. Marie tv is great!
Thank you - this video has been of huge benefit to me. I'm now hooked on Marie TV, which is upbeat, insightful and a little bit cheeky in the best possible sense!
Thank you. This was reassuring to take some of the edge of perfectionism and impatience off.
Awesome stuff Marie and guest! I'm inspired to be less fearful of both success and the failures/setbacks that come with it. I love the reframe that success and failure are on the same road with success being a little further up the road. So helpful. Will remember this lesson.
Wow, that is the best video to that topic, so calm, so wise and helpful. No broad statements from bragging personalities.
Wow that was incredibly so well said!!!!
I definitely needed to hear that!
Loved this - a positive yet down-to-earth way of looking at failure! Cathy is great!
I haven't really thought about it in this way before but realise that I tend to draw very harsh global conclusions from failure.
Will definitely share this message :)
Love all your videos Marie!
Great video! This is a good beginning for all other videos you have. All the 'how to-s' are useless if you are unable to try.
I seriously needed to hear this on this day.
Such good conversation for today...still working on sharing my special gift that only I have. Thanks Marie!
Excellent !! Cathy is amazing.I am going through one.
Thank you so much for your videos!!! They definitely help keep me on track to success!
Wow, that was incredible! Thank you, outstanding perspective, thank you for sharing!
This is BEAUTIFUL! I am currently learning to reframe reality, and this just provided a few more tools for my toolbox. Thank you, laydeez!😍🙏😍🙏😍
Tips that help me:
1) failure is part of the process. You don't learn throughout your success, you learn throughout your failures, as long as you analyze them instead of judging yourself.
2) don't seek people approbation always. Be critical with critics. Listen to only constructive and explicit feedback. The rest of it are interferences.
3) you cannot please everybody and haters will hate. So don't consider their comments as failure.
Now I will add these two additional tips from the interview:
4) make failure overcome an obligation.
5) celebrate your effort, more than the result.
Thanks for the video.
More words of wisdom. Thank you for this!
Beautiful video. Thank you ladies.
This is the first video I saw from MarieTV and immediately watched 3 more, then had to come back and comment on how good this advice is. Great interview, really respect the style/format of the show. I don't know if this channel is mostly female-oriented, but as a male I found it to be gender neutral and appreciate the ability to create this type of content so approachable - well done.
Great interview and sage advice. It is so easy to globalize and to turn a failure into a death sentence for successful living.
This was helpful. I think I've been stuck in failures that happened years ago.. School related as well.
Very good question.
As everytime does time helps me to get over nasty failures
I definitely need to keep listening to this on repeat!
I enjoyed the advice given here. A systematic approach was very organized and easy to follow while taking notes. Especially the nuggets of wisdom.
I really needed to hear this. Thank you.
Loved this . I use the logic in order to keep my goals.
Thank you so much for this beautiful video!!!
That's so powerful, thank you!
Awesome............
Another video with Dr. Cathy Collautt
One of the best episodes! Loved it!!
How to learn to applaud yourself for trying? I'm having a hart time sincerely give recognition to self for efforts. Thank you.
Yes, I’ve assigned this job loss to the loss of all other jobs even the ones I quit.
ahhhhh this is helping me soooo much. THANK YOU BOTH🙏
Thank you for this! It has helped me!
This sounds just like the idea of the growth mindset: setbacks are merely paths toward future success. Of course, it's much easier talked about than done. I recently quit a job after one week in a field I love because I was having panic attacks and felt I wasn't right for it. I think it was good of me to try, but also good to realize that it was simply not a good fit and that perhaps I need to work on my professional development first before jumping back into that field. So now I'm tackling a new five-year plan that will get me back into the game. :)
This was amazing! Needed to really see this
I needed this. Thanks!
This is helpful even not in relation to business success. I had a hard time getting over my "failure" to deliver my baby naturally. Like Dr. C said, I had to get over it. Learning and succeeding breastfeeding my baby helped me move forward as a mother.
This is awesome !
Amazing advice!!!
That helped a lot, thank you!
Thank you so much, this is life changing! I'm going to try until I succeed.
Oh goodness. You're so very welcome! Keep going - we know you've got this, and we're rooting for you every step of the way. 💖
Great video! Thanks 👍
I'm so guilty of globalizing my failures. I really really needed (and appreciate) this message. Always perfect timing. I'm kind of going through the setback (correcting it seems hard) and I might need an extra year to finish my bachelor's degree (which would mean loosing my scholarship and having to pay for the year by myself) and I'm trying to sort it out, do my best and not freak out too much about it. It's still a "possible failure", might not happen at all. But at least now I know not to take this as a general conclusion to my inability at life. I'm not unable at like, I was unable to perform certain tasks because my effort might have been lacking. Going to do my best to fix this for sure :)
Thank you for this!!
I love this video!
Omg this is The video for me. I almost wish I would have seen it sooner. Everything you talked about failure I've thought and experienced. I was in a PhD program and ended up graduating with a masters of science instead. It was a devastating failure that I'm still trying to cope with and make amends everyday. I definitely turned it into a global failure. I was stunned also at the responses I would get from the department advisors and chair. So far the only way I can deal with this is either by not thinking about it or thinking about how unsupported I was by my committee. I really believe there were issues surrounding sexism and racism towards me. All that aside, being subcontracted by a friend of mine on a project that is related to the courses I've taken but not directly having to do with my thesis topic, has helped me feel capable of working.
You go, girl!
Cathy is amazing!!!!!
Awesome advice for for personal and business success!
love this, thank you
Smart woman. Smart advice.
This was brilliant! So helpful :)
Thank you very much!
Solid discussion
I'm doing a job I don't like. It needs so much boaring details to be fixed and I definitely ever miss at least one that will rubbed in on me and yes I say to me how incapable I am, but with your video I learn not to make a drama out of this, maybe I'm only incapable of this little issue or maybe nobody can do everything perfect..
Amazing and phenomenal video
Excellent vedio helped me a lot thank you cathy
Wow, absolutely amazing :-) Thank you for these action steps :-)
This was so good!
