    Hi, there, my dear friends, in this video I will show you an interesting idea how to make a strike-ball trip wire from the clothes peg and electric match.
    This video demonstrates how to make an Electric match. If you planning a campfire or special effect, use this method.

    40 years ago, we used two clothes pins, a 9 volt battery, some hookup wire, fishing line, Estes model rocket igniters and blockbuster firecrackers to build perimeter alarms around the vegetable garden. It kept Moose and Deer from eating the plants and veggies. Jerk the fishing line, and instant BOOM. Even the boldest Moose was running full speed away. Harmless, but supremely loud.

    I made a sump pump alarm using a cloths pin, you have one thumbtack with the flat surface on the inside and the other the point. you place an aspirin between the flat surface and the point. You then attach it to a piece of wood and lower it into you sump pump well above the water line. If the sump pump fails the water rises, dissolves the aspirin, the contacts touch and set off an alarm. Its saved me from a flooded basement more than once.

      Sump pumps suck for that very reason. It fails and so does all your gear stored in your basement. Your alarm is a great idea if someone is near enough to hear it. Away at work..you're f*cked. No more basements for me

      + MrMaestro14231it is a mixture of match heads and the red phosphorous from the boxes striker. When mixing them together in a one match head powdered and half that in red phosphorous with a tiny drop of water to make a paste. But in its powder form it is highly susceptible to shock forces and will explode/ignite. These are great for a rocket motor starter, fireworks, dynamite, or whatever needs fire to ignite its fuse or combustible material. Handle it carefully when a powder. If you strike it with a hammer it explodes.

    You could definitely wire some sort of module that sends a signal (Audio, IR, Wi-fi, etc.)over shorting the circuit. You could do this with minimal modifications and additional modules. Great starting point.

Instead of the bread bag tab or plastic peace you used, try the audio mechanism, and maybe use a recorded alarm sound instead of the flare. Just a suggestion.

    • @johnelliott7123
      @johnelliott7123 Před 2 lety +13

      You're ALL missing the point! Once the wire is tripped and the contacts touch each other, the small fire causes heat, which is attached to a thermal resistor, which will then send a small electric current to a variable capacitor that has been connected in parallel to several smaller capacitors with different ohms, so the electric current can then choose which path has the least resistance and if you choose, you can put a day/night/thermal transmitter that is connected by bluetooth to your cell phone and can simultaneously dial your number as well as 911. Don't forget to connect the game camera set on either video or flash pictures for evidence. If your property is vandalized often, ensure you have at least 100 GB card and if your card can connect to satellite you can be sleeping anywhere and the signal can be sent not only to you, but to other agencies that might have concern that your tomato garden is under attack. This is how mine is set up. I love my tomatoes.

It was common when out in the boonies and setting up camp ( army) The army issued trip flares also which ran on the same principle. As a joke we would set this up on a friends car attached to a black smoke bomb and when he started his car ( the wires were attached to his spark plugs) the smoke bomb would go off and send great clouds of black smoke from under his hood. It was funny to watch him bail out and roll across the ground. Oh, those memories of years gone by!!

    You could build something like this, but with a spring keeping the contacts apart, in order to do a pressure plate trigger.
    This would allow you to callibrate how much force was required for the alarm. Heavy spring for vehicles, light spring for People.

      I think it supposed to cause a forest fire and thus alert you to the danger, then you will notice you will be burning alive soon enough so you forget whatever it was that set off the trap and run like hell.
      Or instead of the combustion i guess you could put any kind of sound generator on it that just needs the power of one battery...
      .
