She’s a very strong and brave little mouse. She’s the kind of person almost everyone can look up to
Honestly, everyone needs to go watch the VOD while it is still up. The game audio wasn't playing and there was nothing but her voice and the sound of her oxygen machine hissing.
It was incredibly tense. You could feel the fear even without the vr headset on.
Now that's realism!
There isn't any sound in space, was there supposed to ve game audio?

She had to shield her view of the Earth poor girl.
She's up there screaming in terror, and I'm down here on Earth crying with frustration that I'll never do this IRL.

the panic induced hyperventilation is so real :( makes me feel bad for her, but at the same time i imagine there is something oddly... freeing? about being put in your worst nightmare while also knowing that you're completely safe

Jacksepticeye was the most afraid I've ever seen him playing this in my 5-6 years of watching him and it was the heights that was getting to him. I cannot imagine how Mousey feels when it's her fear of space in general that's getting to her.
Mousy really hates space but love seeing her reaction. Also love to give her a hugs since she was not enjoying the space walk

Mousey’s a tough one, with all the hardships she’s faced in life she keeps moving forward and doing her best to overcome. She won’t even let something like sheer heartstopping terror stop her!
the way she was breathing at the start there was legitimate fear and panic. we have such a brave mouse made of iron. courage isnt not being afraid of things, its moving forward despite being scared

I can't help but feel so bad for Mousey during this. It sounds like she was having panic attacks throughout the video.

Anyone willing to face their fears deserves respect
After seeing her try, I wanted to give it a shot also. Home is a free VR program on Steam, so I didn't hesitate.
A couple gameplay tips:
1: up until the debris, the game is on rails; you can't drift away even if you try. You can fling yourself forward and always go to the next area.
2: There *is* an ending where you make it back to the ship.
3: In easy mode, you can only go forward with the thrusters, but you don't start in a spin. In astronaut mode, you have 360° control over the jetpack joystick, so be sure you know where your hand is positioned.
4: You can help your brain's motion disorientation by staring at things that don't move, like your chest panel, or putting your hands in front of your face. If you don't like how bright your gloves are, put your hands further to the sides, outside your suit's light. It may help to trick yourself into believing you are scrolling down a web page. You can watch the planet's horizon and time when the space station will be in front of you.
5: You can see how much fuel you have on your chest's display panel. Fuel is constantly depleting, even if you aren't using the thrusters.
6: If you go directly for the hatch, you will bump into things and get stuck.
7: At any time, you can restart the game from the pause menu. Restarting will skip the speech at the end. I couldn't figure out how to pause the game with any of the buttons, but it happens by default when taking off the headset.

An understandable fear...I imagine there's a very large sense of "oh fuck, I really don't belong up here" we aren't compatible with space, low gravity, zero pressure, and if you let go nobody can go out and catch you.

i've done this with full body tracking and its a weird experience. you feel like your body is floating when its not. When you pull yourself forward you get a weird sense of motion, when you should not. Which is what I think freaks some people out.
Space is scary man. Stars, black holes, worm holes, nebulae, you can keep all of that far away from me thank you very much.

Not even a minute in and it already sounds like she’s on the verge of a genuine panic attack. Remember kids, never go into space alone. Always have a trusted friend with you, if not to help you face your fear of drifting endlessly through space, then to at least have someone you can laugh at when they do something stupid.
She did it 3-4 more times after this. It got easier for her every time. She even mearly beat the RCS thruster part.

Even though this was VR, this would be nucking futs to go through. I’m a wuss when it comes to heights, and I wouldn’t be able to deal with this.

(and yes i know there are no birds in space). Who knows what Mouse is afraid of, will understand what i mean.
Fun fact: birds have been taken to simulated zero G's in the infamous Vomit Comet planes to see if they can fly in an atmosphere without gravity. They get really disoriented.

Facing such a fear takes very much... I couldn't do that... Also because facing my biggest fear is kinda impossible... I really respect her for doing that and I wonder if that was Connors plan all along because he knew she would do that even if she wins against Ludwig. That she did win was very important for that.

Bare in mind she has been bedroom bound for 90% of her life so she is basically agoraphobic due to her situation conditioning her that way.
So putting someone like that in SPACE is like putting someone claustrophobic in a 2 sizes too small coffin and then burying it.
Also she once had an incident while “medicated” with friends while camping that made her absolutly terrified of space.
And not “be right back i have to take my medicine” medicated

I find Mousey's specific fear of space on the whole (rather than - let's say - just being _in_ space) to be rather unreasonable (plus didn't she say it developed after looking up during a bad trip?). For some reason, that makes this way more entertaining.
While I don't share the same fear, her fear of birds at least makes some sense. This... err... not really.
I recommend the anime "Planetes", it's about an astronaut who develops a fear to space.
If you want to terrify yourself lay on the ground at night and look to the sky.
Now tell yourself you are really looking down.
Because we are on the Earth, which is in space. _We are all in space all the time._
Mouse needs to stop doing this stuff if it's gonna get her to this level. She is still fragile.
