My mom just passed away, on her birthday. I played this song for her on mother's day as a teen and she cried. She struggled with mental illness my whole life but that didn't take away that I loved her dearly. Dementia is a slow thief that stole her from me and my family. Many call it the long goodbye. It was hard seeing her like that but I know she's at peace. I hope I'm comforted by it soon. Right now I'm just filled with heartache.
