Adrenergic Drugs (Part 02)| Alfa and Beta Receptors with Their Location and Functions | Adrenergic

- Adrenergic system or Adrenergic nervous system (ANS) is a group of organs and nerves in which adrenaline (epinephrine) and/or noradrenaline (norepinephrine) act as neurotransmitters. ANS is counted as one of the main neurohormonal systems that regulate cardiovascular function, including smooth muscle tone.
There are several key things to understand about the adrenergic system. The first is that the nerve fibres that release norepinephrine as their main neurotransmitter are called adrenergic neurons. The receptors stimulated by either norepinephrine or epinephrine are called adrenergic receptors or adrenoceptors. The drug that activates the adrenergic receptors is called sympathomimetics. On the other hand, drugs that block the activation of these same receptors are known as sympatholytics.
Epinephrine is both a naturally occurring biochemical in the body and it is synthetically produced for medical purposes. Norepinephrine is also used medically but far less so than epinephrine. Primarily, adrenergic neurons (nerve cells) release norepinephrine as their neurotransmitter. Adrenergic neurons can be found in the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), as well as the sympathetic nervous system. The receptors these adrenergic neurons stimulate are called alpha 1, alpha 2, beta 1, beta 2, and beta 3. Some of these can be further subdivided into more receptor subtypes, but this is beyond this lesson's scope.

if alpha 2 receptor cause vasoconstriction then why we are giving clonidine as a agonist u said agonist are those which shows positive effect then
m still confused about clonidine and alpha methyl dopa pls clear my doubt
If the Aplha 2 receptor receptor decrease . How can it be?
Pls sir explain

Sir there are D1to D5 receptors also present ... please explain them too sir ...
Sir Beta1 receptor blockers are safe in asthmatic patient, only non selective beta blockers are contraindicated like propranolol.
Don't mind it
Sir , Medicinal chemistry point of view se yehi topics ke videos kahi available hai kya
This was really helpful for conceptual understanding. Just medicinal chemistry wala part chahiye tha.

Clonidine causes vasodilation or vasoconstricion? I think it is former. Please clearify.
Sir, alpha methyl propranolol selective beta antagonist hota h ya non selective??
I think sir wanted to say alpha methy dopa. (It’s a cvs drug for hypertension especially for pregnant womens)
Sir beta2 receptor blood vessels ko dilate karta haii isliye isko vasodilation m nhi dete
Sir ek baat smjh m nhi aai..! Ki suppose hamne agr Adrenergic drug diya toh kya vo drug jaakr alpha aur beta receptor pr jaake bind hoga apna reaction show krne k liye?? Agonist aur antagonist ka role kya hoga iss condition m?
Jo agonist hai wo bind hoga aur jo antagonist hai wo signal molecule ko bind hone nahi dega
@@solutionpharmacy toh sir vo drug apna action kaise show krega jb Antagonist signal ko bind hi hone nhi dega toh...

Sir, Alpha 1 receptor gland k secretion ko increase krta h ya decrease krta h??
See all the adrenergic receptor which has number 1 they are stimulatory receptor and which has number 2 they are inhibitory receptor like in bronchi it has beta 2 Receptor that's why brochi will dilate. Hope u understand 😊

@@jaypatel2343 beta 2 receptor is not inhibitory it is stimulatory but bronchodilation is cause due to presence of smooth muscle in bronchi

If Alfha 2 receptors cause decreased neurotransmitter release then who does it caused Vasoconstriction... Plzz explain this
Vasocontriction is not always dependent on neurotransmitter
@@solutionpharmacy but the alpha receptor is only specific for Catecholamines so it only reacts to Catecholamines.... What can be the other cause of Vasocostruction?
But Sir . B1- agonist drugs dobutamine have some affinity for Alfa receptor ... So how is it pure bitA agonist ?
Dobutamine, has predominantly β-adrenergic effects with minimal α-adrenergic effects. Its efficasy is not as high as beta recp.
It's pure beta 1 receptor agonist .for example if we take isoprenaline it is a non selective for beta 1 and also it works on beta 2 receptor both are quite different mechanism.Alpha 1 receptor exogenous agonist is phenylephrine

Its because of their vasodilator n constrictor activity

Why ß1 blockers are not given to asthma patients? I suppose non- selective ß blockers are not given to asthama patients and ß1 blockers should not cause any harm because on bronchioles ß2 receptors are present not ß1 receptors.
Shrishti Shandily Beta receptor or so cruel they are also used in hypertensive and as well as in asthma so if these are non-selective they may home both present accordingly
@@solutionpharmacy sir can u tell it in details beta 1 blocker should not cause any harm to asthma as it present in heart beta 2 blocker can cause harm to asthma patient as it wil do bronchoconstriction.so why i say beat 1 blocker cant be given to asthma patient
