He's using a G1 chanter, the change in pipes is most likely because one of his sets is set up for Concert pitch Bb, while the other is set for another key, maybe closer to a B natural. G1 chanters are great for playing with others as the top hand is louder than most chanters. Conical bore on a lot of "solo" chanters tend to be a bit more aggressive and therefore quieter on the top. if you look closely at this G1 it's quite a chonker up top therefore louder. I would be interested to hear Mr. Parker's thoughts on the matter.

Bradley, is there any hand stretches you do for warmup? I'm getting back into piping after a 7 year hiatus and now 36 years old my fingers don't work like they used to and it's driving me crazy not producing sounds like i used to. I believe he has them corked for this set which is why he has two sets of pipes up on stage with him. The other has the drones open and he uses them for another set. Then he picks up these for this set that he doesn't want drones for. Someone correct me if there is another reason I'm missing.
