I can remember my Grandfather listening to Merle Haggard in the car when we would go on long trips he would have his cassette tape in a tape that would hold about twelve cassettes some of them would be of him singing in churches with a lot of old songs in paperback books that later went in to some of the songbooks that we sing out of today in Churches together today I miss my Grandfather’s deep voice

Holiday Inn, Eau claire, wis. 1971. I was a huge fan of Merle Haggard at the time and had I think every record he put out up to that time. Merle was doing a show in town and staying at the Holiday Inn. I was closing the bar and ringing out the till, when I noticed a very familiar figure walking through the dining room. Excitedly, I approached him and said, 'Mr. Haggard'. With that he turned around and said he was looking for his room but had gotten turned around. I told him there was no one in the bar, and I would be proud to buy him a drink. "I could sure use one," he replied. With that we went into the dim lit bar, I poured him a triple shot of Crown Royal, and we had a great conversation for about a half hour. One of the highlights of my life!
'Sweet Jesus', it doesn't get more beautiful or simple than this. I'm so very thankful to know that Merle passed away knowing Jesus as his Savior! This song is a wonderful testimony. Just beautiful!!

This was the most tear jerking funeral I have ever watched. The whole service was so touching to my heart as I have listened to Merle’s music for many years & enjoyed it so much. I know Merle passed April 6th 2016 a day I will never forget, I thought he would live forever, his music will, I was so sad the tears ran down my cheeks. I’m 84 years old so you know I heard many of his songs. He was the best of the best, can’t believe it’s been seven years since he left us, but I still listen to him every single day, love ya Hag, see ya soon. RIP till we meet again. 😢❤
I know how you feel. I was actually stunned when I heard the news. I didn't even know he was sick. And what you said about him living forever, man I never ever had a thought that some day he'd be gone. Someone with his enormous talent and likeability doesn't come a long more than once in several lifetimes. He was such an important part of my life. So many good memories. I was fortunate to see him live once. What a performance that was. Miss ya man.

This was a beautiful memorial service for Merle. I watched this and tears were running down my face. I have always loved Merle and his recordings. I go back to those in the 1960's. To all his family: we have lost our greatest musician, singer and song writer. I pray his nice looking young boys will keep his spirit alive and continue performing his songs and music. I grew up loving Merle! He was my Dad's favorite! I was in charge of the record player, would play Merle's records and sat on the porch and sang these songs with my Dad! Those were special times! Dad gone now, but still loved his songs!

Although it had never been done there, I walked down the aisle to "Nobody's darlin but mine" and walked out of the chapel to "Mama tried".... Merle Haggard was with us, even though he was no longer living. It was perfect!

And now, to hear the testimonies, to see and hear a reading from your well-worn Bible, at times with tears in my eyes, is all such a heartwarming blessing.

I'm still crying over the passing of the greatest singer, songwriter in the WORLD, I can't listen to him without crying, I lost three loves of my life this year, in Feb. my husband, my brother, then April lost Merle, I'm so sad.

Merle Haggard was one of my all time favorites. I always wanted to meet him but never got to. I could really relate to most of his songs and learned to sing a lot of them. I miss him greatly. R.I.P. Merle!

I am cuban but I love Haggard music, I have all his records and I hear them all days, thank you You Tube for present is burial and the Tribute to Merle, he was unique I missed his sad eyes and his wonderful voice; during hippies days I always sang Okie from Muskogee everywhere.

A great sermon.And no one loved and liked Merle as much as I did. I saw many of his concerts- 13 was the amount of concerts I saw him. I know his beloved family will miss him- And so will all his fans. Rest in peace Merle and I know one day we will all meet again.
Just after thanksgiving. I feel I was blessed to have lived to see and hear Merle's inspiring music and life ! All my 70 years ! My prayers are I've learned to be a better Man and a blessing to others. !

This is a shock I stumbled on, Merle passed away,Oh my God, a man who has given me joy, comfort and peace through his songs. I thank you and if my life prolong a little more I would listen to your songs as if you are still here singing. Sing with the angels Merle and when we look up into the skies we would see you there.
I'm still crying over the passing of the greatest singer, songwriter in the WORLD, I can't listen to him without crying, I lost three loves of my life this year, in Feb. my husband, my brother, then April lost Merle, I'm so sad.
May he rest in peace, he will never be forgotten he’s music was unique, and loved all over the world.
A beautiful tribute to the greatest singer/songwriter in the history of country music. As a child. I grew up alone with few friends. And I always turned to music . Music brought me peace and hope for a better life. Merle was my favorite singer. I always listen to his music. At a time when it was not cool. Every one my age liked rock and roll. But I stood strong. And Merle Haggard was and still is my favorite singer. Merle Haggard could do it all. He was a singer a writer. And one heck of a guitar picker. I wish I had one quarter of the talent Merle had. But so do million's of other's. I'm sure Merle Haggard is walking with God to night.
