- A.F. Steadman took home the Children's Fiction award at the 2023 Indie Book Awards for Skandar and the Unicorn Thief.
Honouring the paperback books of the summer as voted for by independent booksellers, the Indie Book Awards celebrate the best reads for the summer, recommending the books that readers should be taking on holiday this summer. The winners were announced on Scala Radio, the official media partner of the Indie Book Awards during #IndieBookshopWeek
The Children’s categories were judged by Alan Flack (The Wonky Tree Bookshop, Leyburn), Liz Tye (Next Page Books, Hitchin), Kayleigh Diggle (Liznojan Books, Tiverton), Emma Corfield-Walters (Book-ish, Crickhowell).
