    I wasn’t a fan of spare tire deletes until I watched this video. It looks amazingly cool with that specific kit. Looks sharp. Hi from Edmonton Canada (my mom’s from Erie PA)

      Gerald Vandendungen Thank you for the kind words and we have to agree they do look awesome when you have good looking parts. I do like the look of spare tires but also love it without. We actually have been talking about making a trip up to the Erie area sometime because it’s so beautiful up there and maybe we can slip into to Canada also haha. Thank you for all the support!

    They should move the camera above the plate and integrate the brake light/plate light into the camera housing.

    Rather carry a heavy spare than be caught without one. Would like to see you on the trail with the donut space saving spare?

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  Před 2 lety +1

      To each their own, I’d rather not have a boat anchor hanging from the back to catch rocks on steep climbs or departing from ledges. The tailgate of a Jeep isn’t the only place to carry a spare. We’ve done multiple cross country road trips wheeling Colorado, Moab, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, etc while having a full size spare in the trunk space or on a roof rack and we managed just fine. I also carry all the tools needed to repair a flat as well. For most hard wheeling events the Jeeps are trailered and the spares live on the trailer in case they are needed. I agree with you, I’d rather not be caught without one. Thank you for watching!

    Nice product. Excellent install. The licence plate/tag light and third brake light look a bit too light duty, and susceptible to damage. Not as robust as the rest of the delete kit. I probably wont buy one for that reason. Excellent video. I gave it a thumbs up. Thanks.

      Handson John thank you for watching! Yeah the light itself is made by off road only and not Motobilt. You are correct that it’s not as beefy as the rest of the parts but so far we haven’t had any issues with function or damage. It’s up and out of the way so not many things will hit it. We really appreciate the kind words and your support. Thanks again!!

    I would have put the license plate camera on top like it shouldn't be it shows more like the original I would use the rubber grommet that is designed for wires to come through not cutting up the Jeep destroying the event

    Great video I only have 1 question I plan on not installing the light kit and using my original brake light. My kit is similar I did purchase the grommets that you listed so only relocating my wires will everything just plug back in I don’t wanna have to splice any wires? Thank you….

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  Před 2 lety

      From my understanding of your question I think everything should just plug back in as long as you keep the harness and connectors in tact. Good luck with your install

      Hey Eric! I apologize, I thought they were linked in the video description. They are now!

  • @therealbouncertv

    Those screws you used for the grommets do they come with black? It would be nice if the screw/bolt was black as well.

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  Před 4 lety

      From what I can see on the website, it looks like they only offer them in stainless. But you could easily paint them if you want them black to match the grommet

    I forgot to ask the motobilt spare tire relocation is there only one product? The same thing goes on the spare tire as well? I’m looking on their website I only see the spare tire delete does that come with that bracket you need to actually mount onto the spare tire as well?

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  Před 4 lety

      Eric Pascual so there’s the spare tire delete kit/tag mount (what we used in this video), the tire carrier, and the tag relocation kit which goes along with the tire carrier but sold separately (I think that’s what you are talking about). The item number for that is MB2115 if you type that in the search bar on the website. Hopefully that’ll lead you to what you’re looking for!

    What type of paint would you recommend painting this with if you want to paint it? Will regular rustoleum primer paint be ok?

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  Před 4 lety

      Myisha Gibson we did ours with Rustoleum spray paint “flat soft iron” with no clear coat and we started to notice some rust show up over the winter. The nice thing about spray paint is it’s easy to touch up but when we do our touch up we are considering either adding a clear coat on top or sending it out to be powder coated

    Does the Motobilt kit come pre painted?

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  Před 5 lety +1

      Pat E no most Motobilt products come raw metal.

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  Před 5 lety +1

      Pat E good question we get asked a lot at shows. Everything from Motobilt comes raw steel with a coat of oil to
      Protect from rust during shipping. So once the kit comes, you can paint or powder coat it however you’d like!
