The Camera man: 👁️👄👁️
Is it just me or would my first instinct when going into the forest would be to find the best stick possible that will stay with me the entire time
My grandma and I used to walk her property each year i visited and pick up all the sticks we found. We would take the best stick we each found and carve our initials into them and make walking sticks. We’d spray them with a varnish after. We had 20+ walking sticks made by the time I had to say goodbye. Rip Rose🌹
Thanks for bringing up this memory ❤️

Totally diff story (and it's really a long one, gonna make it short) but I'm female and I once (back between 2013-15) ended up homeless, living in a tent in the woods in Virginia, US, and lived this way for almost a year (8-10 months). I ended up with a 10-person tent (donated), carpet & padding (scavenged), a complete twin-sized bed (also scavenged) and shelving made out of cardboard and milk crates. Basically, everything you would ever need for survival in a normal house, except I lived in the woods. It was so weird for me when I would invite people to my camp(which was very few) but they would say, "Wow! This is nice. That's really cool". I felt like the Queen of the world. Nobody taught me to do it, I wish they had. I just thought it out and taught myself. I learned how to feed myself (can in the campfire), winterize my self and my tent (layers, layers, layers) and basically survive.
Point is.... What you do is cool. Most people look at that and say OH... WOW... THAT'S COOL. I look at it as "Tutorial Vids". The 'can in a campfire' thing I've done. That's how you cook food. Really wanna try the 'split bark for shelter' thing... 😘😎 Thx for your vids. ❤

Tree sap in actually very good for sealing a deep cut. It's also got a ton on healing properties. Just need to warm it up until it's spreadable, not enough to burn your self of course. Place the tree sap and bandage the area, and keep tree sap on wound for as long as it will stay on the skin.

Thanks for the info, I've used the tree split to break wood though, I like the way you use the bark from dead falls instead of live.
Excellent point, and that was going to be one of my comments. It would not be appropriate nor is it acceptable to strip that much bark off a live tree. I had to watch again and saw it was already fallen and dead. However exceptions in a wilderness survival situation to save your life ? pretty much anything goes. Yeah, that's a thing.

I feel like a good idea would be to suspend those logs over a fire for an hour or 2 so the smoke can evacuate any bugs in the bark. Same with grass that your putting near your body. Using pine needles to create a lot of smoke. Idk how well it would work but I think it would be kinda helpful hygiene-wise. 🤷🏻♀️

Hey, its 4 days video,, and make just a little minute to you!! Apreciate👍
Whatever you say
I would hold off on stuffing your clothing with leaves. Ticks hide from birds in leaves and survive the winter under them. A large contractor trash bag can be stuffed with leaves and used as a mattress to keep you off the cold ground, though.
Lmfao glad I wasn't the only person who thought that. The 3 ticks, 50 ants, and a wolf spider he just stuffed in his vest are about to have a field day.
Me and my friends used to spend weekends in the woods. Building forts making fire wood. We liked the idea of being like bear grills surviving in the wild.
Pine resin is a lot more useful as an adhesive than a fuel. If you mix it with finely ground charcoal while melted, it will cool and harden like epoxy or fiberglass resin. Has been used to resucure bindings on tools and weapons, as well as provide waterproofing for roofs, boats etc.
