Traditional additive metal finishes often sacrifice long-term durability and performance for the sake of resisting corrosion. Our new "RAW" finish (available on Columbia Bars & PR Deadlift Bars) not only provides superior corrosion resistance but also preserves the natural, raw feel of the barbell. This is especially crucial for athletes and fitness enthusiasts who prefer an unadulterated connection with their equipment. The aerosol spray application ensures an even, hassle-free coating, maintaining the aesthetic allure of a natural metal surface without the drawbacks of conventional finishes.
The "RAW" acronym captures the essence of this innovative product.
"Repairable" signifies the ease with which any natural metal surface, regardless of it’s condition or level of oxidation, can be repaired to its original condition and protected. Bar Sauce can be reapplied annually, or as needed when scratches or finish damage occur.
Anti-corrosion" highlights its primary function, offering robust protection against rust and degradation, particularly vital in variable humidity environments and exposure to elements like sweat.
"Weatherguard" rounds out the trio, ensuring the barbell's resilience against diverse weather and humidity conditions.
This trifecta of features makes Kabuki Bar Sauce not just a protective coating, but a comprehensive maintenance solution for barbells. It's an indispensable tool for anyone serious about weightlifting, ensuring their equipment remains in peak condition, both functionally and aesthetically, despite the rigors of frequent and intense use.

Thanks Kurt
Thanks for watching!
It looks good! Might try it at some point. Kudo to the catchy name : Bar sauce ahaa
I'm using 3-in-1 penetration oil for the shaft now and the 3-in-1 for the sleeve. The penetration oil really melt any surface rust and make it into a nice patina. I have a bare steel rack (home made 3x3) that looks stunning even after 3y with this...
That’s a cool idea for a rack. I do love a good bare steel patina
Loved the Beverly Hills Cop music.
"You know, all I hear is this guy is some sort of Elvis Presley impersonator or something, and he can't even afford a decent pair of socks." - Axel Foley, Beverly Hills Cop
Great stuff! I would definitely give this a try on a bare steel bar!
I like the way my Duffalo bar looks now
You made it through ‘bare steel feel’ really well. Good review. Kinda thought the stuff was a gimmick honestly.
This is supposedly formulated a little better so we’ll see. It definitely doesn’t seem like pressurized 3-in-1 oil though.
How was your rack after spraying down the bar? Directions mention to not apply to powder coat. I like the idea of annual maintenance but I do appreciate that 3 In One can be applied fairly precisely. This looked like a lot of "the sauce" was just going into your garage via aerosol.
Rack didn’t really get hit at all. The J-cup did but no issues with the finish and it wiped off easily during cleanup.
That bar looked good after the cleaning. Nice shine to it
It has a good shine and doesn’t feel greasy after that final wipe down
Nice, I might pick this up. I have black oxide Kabuki power bar and deadlift bars that could use a refresh!
My reaction the next day was way better than my reaction in the video. The bar basically looks new outside the knurl damage from the move
“It is definitely thicker”. That’s what she said.
That is, in fact, what she said
I hope your floor is ok
It was a garage gym mop day anyway. Used simple green like normal and it’s good to go!
I have wondered about that stuff. How is it holding up? Do you need to apply as frequently as oil? I would be interested if it is more resilient than just oiling and brushing every few weeks.
I have not reapplied since this video and my barbell is still good to go.
Big Kurt Daddy
Coach talking me up
The next day you used it was it really oily, or slick?
I gave it the final wipe down and the next day it felt like it had been cleaned but wasn’t necessarily overly oily
