  • Yup, the secret garden is a disaster! I haven't given it the attention and TLC it deserves over the last few months... and it shows! So today, there's no nice clothes, no well-planned segments, just me working in the mess secret garden and I'm bring you along on the autumn clear-up!

    I enjoy these kind of segments- the practical and real aspect of gardening. It shows the hard work that goes into keeping a garden healthy and aesthetically pleasing. Thank you so much for sharing.

      No problem Kelley - and it’s great that you enjoy this kind of content too! I think I’ll try and show more of it… there’s certainly plenty more of that kind of thing to be done! 😂

    I'm happy to hear your advise on pruning, too often I see advice and demonstrations on hacking away at it. Sometimes just taking away a small portion of the weight will make the rest of the branch pop up out of the way. Well I'd rather be out tidying up the garden than washing up a sink full of dishes!!!

    • @niallgardens
      @niallgardens  Před 2 lety

      Totally agree Jeffrey! I'm a big believer in working bit by bit. I always think of that phrase about being able to cut more off, but not being able to cut something back on! 😂

    You work so much in your garden - puts me to shame, and still mine gets away from me! Thanks for "keeping it real" in this video. We all have projects we've neglected. Great inspiration to just get back out there and do some more!

I loved seeing the before and after shots with you doing the work in between, and of course you have a secret garden...I WANT ONE! Haha! I have a shaded sloped area in my garden and am wanting a ground cover shrub. Would the Miniature Bamboo be good planted in there do you think??
