Finally got my girlfriend into drum corps...only took 22 years
Worth it!!
This line had "the sound." Watched and listened to about 20 clean lines that day. CLEAN lines... and then I sat down in the lot and my jaw dropped. It's not just that they sounded cleaner, but every note, perfectly in time, went straight into your soul.
Yet they didn’t win drums ... might wanna check your ears buddy
Alex Wilson bro shut up.
@@alexwilson2268 doesn’t matter whether they got the caption or not, how you interpret each line and their sound can be subjective and it differs from person to person
22:35 I can't believe H-Monkey is playing everything in the battery what a god XD
Such a talent!
As a Bluecoats Bass Drum alum, I LOVE this video!!! Takes me back to never ending rehearsal blocks, back pain, hot days, hard gym floors, giant bugs, and I miss it all. So happy to see an awesome continuation of the Bluecoats family. Yeah Bass- keep rockin! Love you all. Clean Beats. 6 words.
So happy you enjoyed the video! I know Coats are big on the family vibe so I'll tell John you commented! (This is Mark Perrett commenting, and John Lluvera is the current Bass Tech at Coats.)
22:15 the camera battery just combusted after that THICC shot
GoPro couldn't hang!
Came here to say this.
Watch the second quad in from the right at 55:34 he has an amazing recovery!
When the swoop hits harder than you expect lol
Wtf how did he keep his feet in time, what a beast
@@DatGuyWithNoName muscle memory, when they're this late into the season they know exactly where they have to go. even when theyre distracted by their drum falling off their muscle memory kicks in and they just follow along like they normally would if they were playing
Omg that gave me a heart attack
bro recovered so well I didnt even notice that he dropped his drum gaaaaAAAAAAAAAA
aaaahhhhh leeeeeeeeeeeeeeee brrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
“I’mma need the hot fire at 10:00 am. You can’t clean the line in the lot.” -someone really smart, I can tell
TRUTH!
I'm so glad he said that
YESSSSSSSSSSS FINALLYYYYYY, I’ve been waiting for SO LONG

All the basses were beasts, but yes 5th bass was just a monster. Let’s go BAQ
The first time i watched this show i was so confused at that part i thought he was on the wrong dot 😂
This is absolutely the best 'Day With' production I have seen. Variety of angles and perspectives, great explanations, wonderful video and sound quality, and even down to the time stamps and segment descriptions. I can't imagine how much time and work went into perfecting this upload. Thank you!
Lot's of work but totally worth it! Thanks so much for noticing the effort!
Nad 👍
Roger Carter is such a chad
Roger is the man!

So proud of you dude, crazy watching you on the come up at Petal, the hours put in, your influence on the gram, and finally making your dream corps. Keep going and spreading the greatness lifestyle, you're a real one.
Thanks so much for this! I’m a high school trumpeter (junior) and idk much about drumline, so watching these videos really gives me an insight on how much work all these guys and 1 and girl put in! Can’t wait for 2021!
I love the bass line. The dynamics are amazing.
I'm so glad I got the opportunity to witness this.... This show was and still is amazing
What an emotional ride this is. Thanks again for this ✌🏻
I definitely cried editing the outro sequence! Hopeful and excited for when Drum Corps is back. ❤️🙏

This is the best form of DCI podcast
You guys are killing it with these vids! Love it!
Thanks Hunter!!
almost a half a decade later, thank you for this video 🙏
i feel like mark would be such a funny and chill drum tech, he’d get along amazingly with my tech. both are literaly so chill, talk the same, act the same, groove over these beats, it’s so fun bro😂

This video is the highlight of my day. Earlier that day my first child were born. #bloooooo
Just found this, it was recorded on my birthday. Long lost birthday present but definitely the best one!
Love it. Thanks again Mark.
You helped so much dude! Thanks for everything!
Amazing! That's great for inspire us brasilian march band members! 👏🏼👏🏼😍
Dr. Kilgore actually came and instructed my high school's band for a while. He was really awesome and we all learned a lot from him.
55:34 second quad from the right
zero g never disappoints 🙌🏼
Stayed up all night for this, sleep schedule ruined
Man.!!! Those basses are down to science they sound so 👍 good...
Likely an unpopular opinion here...as impressive as everything everyone on the field is doing, especially those behind the keyboard (the writing is off the chart, especially during that keyboard groove in the 3/4 segment in Movement 2, and as for the performers themselves...nailing that triple lateral, god*dang*), the sounds and energy electronics bring to the table always seem to catch my attention, and the Bluecoats handle it the best out of any corps. Most notably, the part played on the malletStation at 33:10 which sounds like a glockenspiel/string hybrid, and Suvin's vocal patch above everything the keyboards are doing in 5-piece band--they're such unique sounds compared to anything else on the field, and the balance here makes me able to appreciate the digitalized sounds a bit more.
Electronics and simulated sounds or not, this was an amazing production, and a great insight to what the world of DCI rehearsal is like--and what makes the Bluecoats the best corps all around. Awesome job, to both all the performers and you guys for putting it together, I enjoyed watching it!
ive never been happier
That makes me happy
Work of art
Every member of the bass line is my hero
Fantastic!
Maybe one of the best basslines of all time
Yeahh !!! Ga ada obat !!!
GREAT VIDEO!!! And what dude said at the end is soooooo #FACTS haha, I've said something similar to my line/s so many times! hahahaha
this is amazingggg
Thank you!! 🙏❤️
Omg this is great
Thank you!!
YES
1:21:10 mans hit the bass so hard the drum bout hit the audience
I can't imagine how that would be having the bass fly so close to my face! Must have been crazy for the people on the ground! lol
Nice one

Ayyy Beck! Glad you enjoyed bro!
Bro! I hope you found a way to get this monetized. This deserves it!
This one won't be monetized, but we do have a bunch of other dope videos that are! We also have merch and books on our website for anyone who want to support Gridbook:

My favorite battery yeahh
1:01:14 quads play Yankee Doodle 😂😂
Omg I never noticed that!! Haha Awesome
John with that hot gospel at the end!!!!!
It was so on the spot too! lol John is the man!
H-Monkey sees all 👀
❤️
WORLD CHAMPS
If you stayed until John, you’re a real one
I wonder how many people saw it!
ZERO-G.!!!! ALL DAY FOR ME
The reference to the cadence “Spider” is incorrect. The arrangements most known were indeed written by Al Murray, but the original composition was created by Ken Watts and Jack Starling in, I believe, 1981.
48:26 What the actual heck it's so good
LETS GO
I'm so happy people are awake right now! lol I didn't know if anyone would see it. 😭
@@gridbooknation respect for you staying up so late
No sleep is required when such a good video gets uploaded
cool vid :)
Thanks Damien!
hopefully yall still replying to comments on this video... What camera type and mic do you use to get such a quality and balanced sound? I am trying to get better at filming myself playing but I always hate the raw sound. Any tips? Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words! In this video I used a Go Pro Hero 4 Black Edition, iPhone X, and a ZOOM H4N recorder. Then edited everything in Adobe Premier Pro. The GoPro and iPhone aren't as "High Quality" as my DSLR (Canon 70D), but are great on the go and since we were doing everything outdoors with tons of light, it worked out great! If you have any more questions let me know and hope this helps!
@@gridbooknation wanted to thank you for this advice! It’s really made audition videos and my personal practice videos for review sound so much better!
No more drumset? Finally!!
Ay wth this was filmed on my birthday
Nice! Great things happened on this day!
Wait they had a pitch bend before Hey Jude? Why did they take it out? 57:12
Yeah, at this point in the season they had a "Tilt" throwback pitch bend at the end of the show, (And it was bad ass!!) but it was taken out. Not sure exactly why, but it could be they didn't get enough reaction/credit for it and changed it to something they thought would be a better final product. If anyone knows for sure, comment!
we went through about 3-4 different transitions with the pitch bend before the designers just didn't feel that it was a perfect fit for what the show needed there. they wanted it to feel as if the "competitive show" really ended after the She's So Heavy portion of the show and for Hey Jude to just be an "encore" for the audience and judges to enjoy, so that's why they added the "ladies and gentlemen, once again, The Bluecoats" instead! hope this helps!
19:37 "Spider" cadence in the basses??😗
Yep! Check out the footnote there!
1:33:48 BET Classic LMAO
God I wish they kept the “Tilt” transition, the “once again The Bluecoats” is also iconic though
The bass split at 7:07 was super hard to transcribe, that's a killer bassline
57:13. I only got to see bloo 2 1/2 times during the season. once at the bean bowl, way at the beginning of the season. at semis while, I was in the tunnel waiting for them to get off the field, and finally on finals night. But was this apart of their show or was this post editing magic.
It was part of their show earlier in the season before they changed it. Wish they had kept it!
This part was added, then taken out. We happened to catch them a day on tour when it was still in.
okay but is no one gonna talk about how the basses have john lennon glasses while they were in the lot lmao
Such a dope vibe!
H Monkey goes hard
YUH 🙊😤
It's a cover up, the battery never died, we all know how zero g ends with our favorite bottom bass
oh hey, have you guys ever thought of putting sheet music in these kinds of videos ? or would that be too much work ??
Yes! We did that with @learnthebeats!
czcams.com/video/wceegwk_VAU/video.html
Eventually we want to make cutdowns of our A Day With Series videos with sheets, just don't have the funding for it yet.

It just uploaded, and since the file is so large it uploads the SD version first (Standard Definition). Once the HD version is finished processing it will be 1080p 60fps.
