Good info, only thing I disagree with is you saying you shouldn't start a business unless you're using a 4gpm. I started with a 2.3gpm and made a few grand my first two months, then I immediately built a 4gpm. You can do quality work, it just takes a lot longer like you were saying. My starting equipment was less than $500. I'd recommend getting LLC and insurance before upgrading to 4gpm. (Depends on the budget). Just my 2 cents, good video man as usual.
I have my sole prop and about to get insurance but I do have a 4gpm. Only doing this part time for now should that suffice? Or why do I need LLC
@@rich2209 no you want an LLC because if you cause damage to the property and let's say it's $20,000 to fix your damage. They can come for your personal & business assets in Court vs just your business assets if you have an LLC. It stands for (Limited LIABILITY company). You can go start a new LLC every day if you want. But it's best to avoid all of that by having insurance. Best of luck
@@BJMolette I see, best to get LLC and insurance instead of Sole Prop and insurance alone. Got it! Thanks!
S-Corp instead of LLC would be better once you’re making good money. Saves you thousands in taxes…just sayin
@@brianperry6899 would that go for every type of business?
All you need is to go get after it with whatever you have. I started with a 2.5 gpm and did not know a thing about PW but I know how to kick ass and that's what I did.
Lol. Eloquently stated
Bro finally a real person describing the business. So much BS online going around. Appreciate it a lot.
Been thinking about starting a pressure washing business. Good info man. You got my subscribe! I’ll check out your other videos.
I smashed that like button and subscribed not because of the knowledge your feeding us BUT your just being you and not scripted like alot of people are.
I want to start my own pressure washing business man and I’m glad I saw this video. Pressure washing 101 lol thanks again!
Glad to see you back, I can use your info 👍🏾
Thanks for sharing your experience man! 😊
Wow so much information,, I'm looking into starting my pressure washing business in April and this is going to help so so much.
Great video! I did a lot of power washing on Long Island, NY, when I was younger, and I've decided to start my own small power washing business where I live now. I'm Virginia. After watching your video, I realized there are some things I forgot and some new things I can use today that weren't as useful 15-20 years ago. Thanks for the heads up 👍
Thanks for all the great info. Great stuff
Great advice and helpful thanks for the info
Love it brother, you're success only goes as far as you're willing to work for it. So happy for you and getting to move to Thailand! Best of luck of to you!
Good advice man, it was good to listen to this because It reminded me of myself when I was starting my business and I had to grind it out myself. I had to make the same mistakes, I had to google and reach out to my chemical vendor. I started out practicing detailing on my own vehicles. Before I washed the first house I again practiced on my own home. Now I've been in business for 4 years and can remember when I was undercutting myself not knowing any better. Working my a** off to make $2k-$3k a month regretting starting a business. Now I've learned from my mistakes and I'm averaging $20k a month and I'm working nowhere near as hard. So people take your time, learn the business before you leap and don't be afraid to ask questions because that's what we're here for. I can speak for alot of us business owners who didn't have anyone, WE WANT TO BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS!! Keep your head up and ALWAYS!!! PUT GOD FIRST!!!! All the Praise and Glory be to GOD... LET'S GO!!!!
What pressure washer would you recommend ?
Put God first amen brother!
Amen God first thank you Jesus Christ!
What's ur email brother

Thank you Zay!

great info brother
Thinking of getting into line of work Thanks for the video 🇮🇪👍
great advice!
thanks man!!
My first mistake on first day was not paying attention to where my hoses was and cooked min on my pressure washer :D good thing I had two.
great video my man
Learn always but don't learn at the expense of making whatever industry your trying to represent. Shit happens but learn, then practice, then confidence, then profit, then success. Now I still struggling with profit but my knowledge and skills how to do the work is there.
Thank you.
To get out mold or mildew is bleach/sh .To get out rust and iron stains you can down stream some CLR or lime away on the stains . To get out oil stains ive used heat and degreasers than i move to acid wash if needed on a driveway
Great information 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thank you 💯
Thank you for this video. My nephew only 16 & been depressed because he wants to make his own money so I thought of investing in this for him to get started. This video is so helpful.
Good to hear 💯 Check out my most recent video
You are an AMAZING aunt. God bless
Salute to the game thanks for dropping free game
The thing is its not about being young when people choose to start with a 2.5 gpm from a box store, we have to keep in mind we all have mostly started there simply because it doesnt logically make sense to spend a $1000 on a machine when you have yet to accumulate the bussiness to even know your going suceed in this bussiness including lack of experience. Now i do get the bigger more gpm the quicker jobs can be done but theres also a lot of damanhe that can be done when you have little to no experience, i always say start with a 3 gpm that way you can develop a good rhythm and routine but great video man as always 👍🏾
Good job
I put bleech into that green botttle, and any trouble areas I use the pressure washer
I'm thinking about starting a pressure washing business and I want to do commercial what would I have to do as in charging wise
You stumbled ur way thru..but u figured it out in the end....that's wassup
Dang! You're moving to Thailand You got to post some videos on that! Great info Zay been following your channel since the start. I have a exterior cleaning business now for 6yrs going well. Always updating equipment and advertising.
Appreciate that! I’ll actually be starting a separate travel Channel 💯
Question: who water do you use? Or do you bring your own tanks when you started ?
I started mine just doing driveways and concrete surfaces only. $300 minimum for a full driveway.
What's everyone think about the Simpson 4400 psi 4gpm belt drive?. Fixing to order one.
I recently replaced my pump for 400 ,they ok man
You mentioned you would add a link in the description to a free CRM (6:45 in the video), but I don't see. Can you please add that to the description?
Did you post the free CRM
As someone with no experience, do you recommend a certification course? Or just research more before starting.
Just more research…there’s also ebooks and course that are useful like my own as well as others
The link to the course doesn’t work, it re-routes to some fishing site and when you type the link in the same thing happens.
You’re going to need to erase your cookies of all time or open in a new browser that you’ve never tried to visit the site on. It should work then
Which crm was it?
Hey man loved this video lots of great info. i’m interested in that CRM for my business. which one is the link?
Started a window cleaning company and have just added in a pressure washing rig as a business loan. I spent about 5 grand on a beginning trailer with a 3.5 gpm and have about a 55 gal drum of SH and Chem to last me the beginning stages. All in all the total to get started was about 6.25k for me
How's it going? I'm going through a rough spot with work, and for years I've considered starting this business.. so I'm really considering it now
@-Dynamite great. I started the business officially on September 1 of 2022. April 12th, 2023, I left my government job with the expectation to make about 2-4k a month. I've consistently done 10k+ a month in sales with an average of about 8.5k profit.
@parker10551 That is awesome man. Firstly, huge congrats to you. Whatever you're doing, all that effort.. I'm glad to hear it's being rewarded.
I'm thinking of getting started with pressure washing, but not sure how it will intertwine with my life. I'm a real estate agent, and that business has been tough for me. I'm new, and my commission splits are pretty aggressive. So even when I do get a lead to close, my payout is not enough to feel like it was worth it. I joined this business knowing this is how it would be at the start, but now that I'm in the middle of it.. it's sucky to be putting all this effort for almost nothing in return. I don't know if I'm just going through a rough spot, or if this is how it will continue to be and I need to pick up work elsewhere (powerwashing?)
It's a big decision. Fortunately I have the capital to make a pretty large investment, but like any beginner I don't want to purchase too much and then not have it work out. I also currently drive a Honda Civic, so I imagine I'd need another vehicle with more towing capacity. Maybe not right away, but pretty soon into it
@@-Dynamite Alright... I'll start with this.. this is what worked for me, and I am just some stranger on youtube so i don't know your market or location...
WIth that being said I started with a little jeep patriot (they are CHEAP, but good little cars if you get the CV6sp tranny..anyways). I threw a $250 tow package on it and I bought a pressure washing trailer to tow along behind it for about $4,800 from websturant online.. However. Just starting, if you can get a vehicle (a small truck probably), you can buy a wheelable pressure washer and chem, hoses, tips etc for less than $1.25k. There are a TON of related videos on getting started available on youtube.
Secondly, KNOWLEDGE KNOWLEDGE KNOWLEDGE! Please understand when applying Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach) that it can be dangerous to your health, the shrubbery, and the customer's homes. Understand the difference in pressure washers and understand why GPM is a major factor. Again, CZcams is your best friend.
Lastly, ask yourself some questions..
Do I want to make this a business?
Do I want to just make enough to be comfortable?
What is my short and long term goals?
Answer them honestly and start the ground work. Make a logo, file for an LLC (easy and cheap doing it yourself, again youtube your state). Start throwing 3$ a day at marketing or get some door hangers from vistaprint.
Get your name out there, you have an advantage like myself. I worked as a postal worker and knew everyone and people trusted me. Don't be afraid to use those connections. No conflict of interest if you are cleaning and your company is selling.
Actually would help boost sales numbers as according to Time Magazine when having your home and windows cleaned it can have a return of 240%-500%.
I hope this helps you in some way. I worked 6 days a week at my gov job with a wife being full time student in Nursing School and a 2 (now 3) Y/O in tow.
Keep strong and best of luck, sir.
Pressure washing seems to have a lower overhead then mobile detail
Hey Zay, I am 16 and I just started pressure washing. How do I get your course thing?
Shoot me an email. It’s in the description 💯
I love seeing the teenagers who are ready for entrepreneurship! Much success to you! You got this!!!

How many GPMs can I go up to without needing a buffer tank? I'd like to start with a 4 but would that be too much?
Nah a 4 is fine
I think the link to the 25 dollar book is broken it said virus alert is there any other way I can buy it?
The link for the ebook is the very first one in the description. When I just clicked it it worked fine for me. That’s weird
I checked again and it worked this time it was probably my phone
@ZayWonderJournal Be honest is this a man's job?
@@iselamartinez5076 I was a navy diver years ago, i worked with good female navy divers. I am also a retired firefighter, some of the best people and capable firefighters I knew and worked with were women. My 2 cents don't let other people set your limitations, if you want to operate a pressure washing business go for it. You be the person in charge of you ! You be the person that decides if you are successful or not.
What are some areas you need to make sure you watch out for as far as electrical? I feel like even if you tape up stuff bleach could sleep in there and electrocute you
I avoid electric outlets and anything like that, I go around and if need it I put a bit of quick pressure but nothing crazy , so far not one problem
What do you think about ryobi
Ryobi or Simpson are great starter pressure washers. Just make sure you get the gas one! I got a combo for under $450 with free shipping. Later you can upgrade. I hope this helps. Much success
Hi
👍
Great video brother! Also what other chemicals do you use besides SH like what did you use for rust and oil
Your gonna wanna use F9 barc for rust
Rustaid outdoor best out there home depot
How to get a book

Hey man, I am 19 with an entrepreneur mindset looking to open a pressure washing business, not in your area so I wont be local competition but can we connect and have a discussion about this business? I know you are busy and as a soon to be business owner time is money, I am willing to pay for your time! Please let me know.
Shoot me a dm on Ig @me.zayy
@@ZayWonderJournal shot you a Dm
I disagree with is you saying you shouldn't start a business unless you're using a 4gpm.
Lol that’s ok. I disagreed to when I first started then as I upgraded I realized you’re not running a professional business with anything less than a 4gpm. With that being said though we all gotta start somewhere.
@@ZayWonderJournal facts. but i get what you mean. i started with a 2.5 because i didnt know much and then when i start gettin my experience and knowledge up, im like damn, i shouldve got a 4gpm. lol. u live and you learn
lol
Facebook university as bad as you tube university lmao
That’s very subjective. I’ve learned a lot from both
It's kinda comical.. 😂
how most of these pressure washing experts tell us get the right machine if you can't afford $$the bucks$$$ then you shouldn't start a business 😮 but then they say HEY that's how I started Lol. no disrespect. Others will say the chemical does the work not the pressure.. thanks for your advice 👍🏿 it's very informative
Chlorine sir. W/great rince. Soak it off
Not chlorine. Know the difference in Sodium Hypochlorite and Chlorine
Love your videos man, but so basically you went into it not knowing almost anything
Lol almost nothing
That’s the best way to learn.
CZcams academy is free. Do your homework.
I like the video but I disagree with starting out. I own pro clean solutions and we do pressure washing. I definitely didn’t have 900 dolars but I got a me from home depot and did just as fine.
So we should discourage ppl. You don’t have to rent one just get a cheaper one to start out with just like you did and work your way up. And also 2.3 GPM is also fine it also depends on what type of jobs you are doing. You don’t need a 4.0 GPM to start for sure.
Bad info. If you don't have $900 you should start. I started a landscaping company with a push mower and worked it up to a fleet and crew. Get off youtube discouraging people with pour ignorance.
“ discouraging “ 😂 stfu
@@ZayWonderJournalppl don’t get that you’re talking about being a professional - of course, you could start w a water gun super soaker 3000, but should you still be pressure washing?
Bro if you’re gonna do CZcams videos do it right and get a lapel mic
I have one just didn’t use it
Sounds fine to me.
Why would you start a business you know nothing about. That's laziness.
lol everything starts at unknown then you learn
