And Ukraine isn't getting papers of cash; they're getting physical goods, most of which were slated for destruction anyways.

@@terpenstine no, that "money" can't solve homelessness, because it isn't money - it's stuff (food, fuel, equipment, etc). When a dollar value is reported that means the equivalent dollar value, not actual funds. It's like if I were to donate $900 worth of clothes and $100 worth of old pantry staples to a shelter; I would claim donating $1000. You're falsely representing what aid actually means.
The U.S. has only contributed about $75B in aid, so you're figure is off by >150%. And defending a friendly democracy against a hostile adversary is good. Appeasement didn't work with Japan or Germany in the 1930s; it won't work with Russia today.

They’ll most likely start making people without children to pay additional taxes to incentivize child bearing and offset the burden. Child bearing is a valued societal contribution. It is, the refundable amount would just increase in case you didn’t have a tax liability. But yes, still $2000 for qualifying child and $500 for qualifying relative. Not really much of a change.

Child tax credits were $2000 per child going back to the 70s, and over 50 years, as prices and inflation rose, those tax credits kept fluctuating up and down to sometimes incredable lows with no explanations.

These tax credits shouldn't be money back beyond what you paid in taxes. You shouldn't get a refund for more than you had taken out of your check.

Probably because you are a net drain without kids vs. taxypayer potential. And yes, as opposed to men, women's cumulative net fiscal impact ends with roughly negative $120,000, never breaking $0. Individuals contribute as individuals, but families contribute generations.
It's based on future tax revenues which will be paid by future generations. Since you don't have any kids you are considered a drain on the system and it's not free money as every tax program has to be paid for.
