I think it's better that Clary is 18 in the beginning of the show cuz when a person reachs 18, a new 'chapter' beginns in the life cuz then the person is an adult. And in the Show it said that when Clary turned 18 she descovert the truth about the world so a new 'chapter' in her life beginns. I hope there aren't many of mistakes cuz I'm German so😄
But you also need to get that they aged up all the character. It makes Alec's coming out against his parents a bit less meaningful. Also if you read the books it details that in the shadow world your age isn't really as much of a big deal
