    On problems speaking up, I have a little advice as someone who used to be super shy (and still am a little haha) :
    -first of all bring everything to God and ask that he give you every good fruit of the spirit and all the support and boldness you need.
    -Second be slow to speak but respond justly to injustice, bless those that curse you.
    -third, just love on the person or multiple people you are addressing. Meet them in kind sternness and press forward the Kingdom of God in your action.
    Blessings in Jesus name, you most certainly will be given the boldness that God knows you need. Your gentle spirit is a gift and a joy, keep it up!!

    They really need to start interviewing for Team Lead and Trainer positions too... just because you're on the team and you know how to do all the positions does not mean you would do well in a "leadership role". They need to ensure that Team Leads are leaving friendships at the door and not allowing friendships to help decide each person's position for the day. NOBODY likes having to do bread (buns) and the shorter a person is, the more this is true, but if everyone is expected to rotate through this position then it's fair that everyone should have to do it once in a while, but NOBODY should have to do it all the time (it's a back breaking position - especially the shorter a person is) just because the Team Leader can't stand up to someone (in this case, a strong Latino gal who only ever wants to do morning biscuit making and secondary salad / grilled / mac & cheese for lunch...), OR the Team Leader is taking care of friends who are actually taller and more capable of doing the buns and bread, but don't want to so then the one person who's the shortest on the team ends up doing the buns and bread - EVERY time... because Team Leaders evidently don't get much training on what it means to step up and be the leader. They need actual classes with quizzes to prove retention of material and expectations that will be required. Team Lead is also tall enough to do bread and is actually quite good at it but ALWAYS chooses the easier position instead... (hardly true leadership if you ask me).
    Team Leaders also need to be held accountable for crossing off a check sheet every shift of tasks given to various team members. If a team member is given Mac & Cheese, they should be expected to follow it all the way through from putting the MC in the pans, to then restocking the cart with a full set of thaw bags for the next person who's making it, to cleaning up their space and placing everything back where it goes. (Team Lead can clean if team member is needed elsewhere but this should be the only part that a person might not do. EVERYTHING else should be expected and that person should be held accountable if the task is not done correctly). There is far too much "winging it" or "playing it by ear" when people come in for the morning... to the point that some people automatically decide what they want to do and everyone else just has to work around them. This should NEVER happen. Everyone should walk in for the morning and assignments have already been written on a board or in some way noted. No team member should always find themselves picking up where someone else left off because the other person didn't like that part of their task... (cleaning the biscuit table, cleaning the eggs station, doing soup, cleaning up a major spill...). Team Leaders should have a plan when they walk in and they should be good at time management and team management. Yes, there will always be call in's and call out's and nonsense like that but you should ALWAYS have a basic plan of who does what for tasking in the morning.
    There truly needs to be a Kitchen Coordinator that runs logistics and makes sure positions are being covered properly and fairly rather than decided based on friendships...
    *** Fair Word of Warning - Definitely go to a store or location that has been either open for a while, or has been run by an operator who has run a store before... You can't begin to know the frustration of working at a newly opened location, especially if it's owned and operated by someone who's never worked a day in their life within the reality of what it the fast food business. It's one thing to jump in and get your picture taken doing a few dishes in the dish room or some other position most nobody enjoys doing, it's another thing to dig in and do the job for 8hrs a day, 4-5 days a week, for at least a couple months... THAT is when people will truly respect you - but it's also beneficial to the upper leadership to have had to truly jump in and cover a position for an entire day / week - you get a better understanding and gain a better perspective of what it is really like. Your team members will respect you much more highly as well and will be far more willing to help you when needed.

    I’m debating on quitting my job at McDonald’s, there’s this one manager, no one likes her, she can’t talk to anyone without giving snide remark’s or getting into unnecessary arguments, and it’s really a bad environment when she’s around.
    One of my other managers got high mid shift.
    One of my other managers walked out, leaving the manager everyone hates bustin her ass back in the kitchen.
    There’s always some rude arguments going on with the workers.
    My second day, I was on fries.
    The prior day and the prior hours, my manager had told me to ignore what was on the screen, and do the ones that he asks, the second day comes he goes, and this co worker “asks” me if I can read, because I wasn’t reading the screen, even though I was told to ignore the screen a day prior..
    I’m only about a month into working here, and getting my first paycheck tomorrow (bi weekly paychecks) any advice?

      Hi! 😊My director at Chick-fil-A was pretty flexible with schedules, because we had a lot of students who were still in school. They would come in after school and some would work certain days. I personally took a lot of shifts, because I needed the hours. It's possible that they can work with you to make sure you only work mornings. There is also a possibility that you may be needed to work other shifts. It depends on the franchise. But, it wouldn't hurt to ask. 🖤

      @ShandericaC  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey!!! 💛That's awesome! Congratulations!!🎊🎉 Sometimes it depends on if they need you to help close and clean up. Usually, I would see people who were scheduled to work until 10 leave at 10 and people who closed were scheduled to work until 11. I think that's what it was, but I'm not too sure. 💛 Also, I recommend you ask one of the team leaders just to be sure. 😊

      I applied for part-time and that’s what I got. I prefer Front of House, just because I did not want to actually prep the food. Front of house was definitely fun for me and it helped me with my communication skills. I would not say that it is easier, but it was fun for me. Both FOH and BOH work together as a team, so it really depends on what you would enjoy best. I recommend trying both to see which best fits you. I’ve had co-workers who have done both. 💕

Also, I'm sure they allowed emergency bracelets in front of house and back of house. I think wedding rings with diamonds was prohibited too. Any kind of jewelry on the wrists was often prohibited. I saw some team members wear necklaces and earrings were allowed but they had to be ball stud earrings...no diamonds.

    How many employees do y’all typically have working at once?

    • @ShandericaC
      @ShandericaC  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey!! 😊 So, it usually depends on the shift. For morning shift, we would usually have like 5 people in the pit and two outside taking orders. For lunch, we had a lot of people because lunch is our busy time. There is probably about three people on door, one on drinks, one on desserts, two in dining area, two bagging the food, and maybe a couple more to keep us stocked. To be honest there were times when almost three people were trying to fix drinks lol! But we showed up and showed out!!😝😝😝 Then there are two taking orders and one taking cash. Midshift is when there are not many people because there aren't a lot of guests coming. Dinner is somewhat like lunch. I hope this helps! 💛

      Congrats!!😁😆🎉 I really hope your interview goes well. It's totally okay to feel nervous lol! Once you've conquered the interview part, you'll feel relieved.💛 When we have big things, such as interviews, to look forward to we become so anxious. 😭 You're definitely going to be okay though and your interview is going to go smooth. They know we be nervous. 👀😂If you don't mind me asking, is this your first time attending a job interview?

      This is awesome!! 😄 You've gotten the experience of being interviewed and I'm sure you're going to do great! Chick-fil-A works with your schedule...whether it involves school and/or extracurricular activities. I'm hoping you enjoy your experience there and stay there long enough to apply and eventually qualify for one of their scholarships.😊 Sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself lol! Let me know how your interview goes.

    What are the positions at chick fil a

    • @ShandericaC

      Hey!! So, I worked as a front of house team member, then I was promoted to a front of house team leader. There are also front of house directors. I'm pretty sure the positions are the same for back of house, but if you worked boh you'd probably be cooking the food or the washing dishes. There is a lot more that goes on in boh though...I hope this helps! 😊 Oh I almost forgot that there are delivery drivers too!

      Have you ever has to clean the bathrooms?

    • @ShandericaC
      @ShandericaC  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey!! Yes, I did have to clean the restrooms. However, I wasn't assigned to clean them most of time. When we opened the dining room, restrooms had to be checked like every 30 minutes. Cleaning our restrooms weren't much of a hassle because we always kept them clean and checked on them throughout the day. 😊
